INTRANASAL DELIVERY OF DIHYDROERGOTAMINE BY PRECISION OLFACTORY DEVICE
Methods are provided for acutely treating migraine headache with or without aura. The methods comprise administering to a subject with migraine headache an effective dose of a liquid pharmaceutical composition comprising dihydroergotamine (DHE) or a salt thereof, wherein the dose is administered by an intranasal delivery device that provides, following intranasal administration, (a) a mean peak plasma DHE concentration (C.sub.max) of at least 750 pg/ml, (b) with a mean time to C.sub.max(T.sub.max) of DHE of less than 45 minutes, and (c) a mean plasma AUC.sub.0-inf of DHE of at least 2500 pg*hr/ml. Also provided are kits for acutely treating migraine with or without aura in which a liquid pharmaceutical composition comprising DHE or DHE salt is contained within a sealed vial that is attachable to a precision intranasal olfactory delivery device packaged therewith.
SHISHA CARTRIDGE WITH CAP
A cartridge for housing an aerosol-forming substrate includes a body with one or more walls and a wall opening in at least one of the one or more walls; a cavity in the body in fluid communication with the at least one wall opening; and a cap rotatably connected to the body, where the cap is movable between a first position, in which the wall opening is open, and a second position, in which the wall opening is closed by the cap.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR EXTRACTING AND ASPIRATING ACTIVE SUBSTANCES, ESPECIALLY FROM THE CANNABIS PLANT
The invention relates to a capsule for use in a vaporizer, having at least one first cavity formed at least in part by a lid, side walls and bottom of the capsule, and a vaporizable active substance accommodated in the first cavity of the capsule, wherein the side walls and/or the bottom are at least in sections double-walled with an inner wall facing the first cavity of the capsule and an outer wall facing the outside of the capsule, so that at least one second cavity is formed between the inner wall and the outer wall of the capsule, inner wall facing the first cavity of the capsule and an outer wall facing the outside of the capsule, so that at least one second cavity is formed between the inner wall and the outer wall, wherein an auxiliary substance, preferably a further active substance, a chemical reactant and/or a flavoring agent is accommodated in the second cavity. A corresponding vaporizer as well as a corresponding vaporizer system are further described.
DEVICE FOR INHALING POWDER-TYPE SUBSTANCES
A device for inhaling powder-type substances includes a mouthpiece, an insertion unit having a retaining part with an insertion means for opening a sub-region in a substance container containing the substance, and a discharge channel for the substance leading to the mouthpiece. In order to advantageously further improve a device of this type, it is proposed that two insertion units are provided, having preferably two retaining parts, which are separate from one another, which each have an insertion means, and with which the substance container can be opened in intersecting or opposing insertion directions. The device for inhaling powder-type substances also includes a plurality of substance containers that can be moved successively into an emptying position. The number of emptied or non-emptied substance containers can be displayed via a counter.
Flow regulating inhaler device
An inhaler device for pulmonary delivery of at least one substance from a drug dose cartridge to an inhaling user, including: a first conduit for conducting a carrier airflow to a proximal opening of a mouthpiece for use by the user; a holder configured to position the dose cartridge within the carrier airflow; and a second conduit for conducting a shunting airflow to the mouthpiece without passing through the dose cartridge position. In some embodiments, a controller connected to a valve controls a rate of carrier airflow, for example by controlling the shunting airflow, based on a sensor indication of airflow rate and a target airflow profile.
Inhalation delivery device and method of use
A wearable inhalation delivery device comprising a wearable member that is securable to a wearer's head; and an inhalation delivery device carried by the wearable member and configured to deliver fluid to the wearer's air passages upon inhalation.
Methods, devices and systems for pulmonary delivery of active agents
Provided herein is a method of pulmonary delivering to a subject at least one pharmacologically active agent being in a plant material, which is effected by pulmonary delivering the agent to the subject using a metered dose inhaler device that is configured to vaporize at least one pre-determined vaporized amount of the agent upon controllably heating the plant material, wherein the pre-determined vaporized amount is selected so as to achieve at least one pre-determined pharmacokinetic effect and/or at least one pre-determined pharmacodynamic effect induced by the agent in the subject.
Inhaling device for heavy metal salts and a method of use thereof for medical treatment
An inhaling device for heavy metal salts and a method of use thereof for medical treatment is provided. The device has a housing defining an interior volume. A mouthpiece is disposed at a terminal end of the housing. A slot is also disposed in the housing, wherein the slot is configured to receive a removably securable cartridge. The cartridge includes at least one heavy metal salt in a solution. Upon securement of the cartridge into the housing, the mouthpiece is in fluid communication with the solution. A battery powered heating element is disposed in the interior volume of the housing, wherein the heating element is in thermal communication with the cartridge when the cartridge is secured within the housing. In use, a user can heat the solution via the heating element and inhale the solution via the mouthpiece.
Vibrating blister
Disclosed is an inhaler and a method for using the inhaler for the inhalation of a formulation from a carrier. The carrier contains the formulation in a receptacle and is set oscillating by an air current. An improved or defined delivery and nebulisation of the preferably powdered formulation is made possible by the fact that the carrier is set oscillating in defined manner, the formulation is dispensed through a cover element having three to five holes and/or the air current flows onto a fin associated with the carrier and flows past at least substantially only one flat side of the carrier.
Preservative-free single dose inhaler systems
An aerosolization system includes a container that is configured to deliver a unit dosage of a liquid when squeezed a single time. The system also includes an aerosolizer that is constructed of a housing defining a mouthpiece, and an aerosol generator disposed in the housing. The aerosol generator includes a vibratable membrane having a front face and a rear face, and a vibratable element used to vibrate the membrane. Further, the housing includes an opening that is adapted to receive a unit dosage of the liquid from the container. The opening provides a liquid path to the rear face of the vibratable membrane.
