METHODS OF MANUFACTURING A TEXTURED SURFACE USING SOLUBLE TEMPLATES
Disclosed herein is a method of using a template for texturing a surface comprising contacting an article surface with a template; where the template comprises a soluble polymer that has a texture disposed thereon; where the texture comprises a pattern comprising a first plurality of spaced features; the spaced features arranged in a plurality of groupings; the spaced features within a grouping being spaced apart at an average distance of about 1 nanometer to about 500 micrometers; each feature having a surface that is substantially parallel to a surface on a neighboring feature; each feature being separated from its neighboring feature; and wherein the groupings of features being arranged with respect to one another so as to define a tortuous pathway; where the template in in the form of a free-standing film.
HEAT-RESISTANT RELEASE SHEET AND THERMOCOMPRESSION BONDING METHOD
The heat-resistant release sheet of the present disclosure is a sheet including a sheet made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or a modified PTFE, wherein the sheet is disposed between a compression bonding target and a thermocompression head at the time of thermocompression-bonding the compression bonding target by the thermocompression head to prevent fixation between the compression bonding target and the thermocompression head, and the content of a tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) unit in the modified PTFE is 99 mass % or more. The heat-resistant release sheet of the present disclosure can more reliably meet a demand for a shorter time (work time) required for thermocompression bonding.
Apparatus for Manufacturing Pouch of Secondary Battery
An apparatus for manufacturing a pouch of a secondary battery includes: a lower die having an accommodation groove for molding a cup part of the pouch formed in a base surface, on which the pouch is disposed; a punch inserted into the accommodation groove to mold the cup part; and a stripper provided to press a peripheral portion of the pouch, wherein the stripper and the lower die press and grip upper and lower portions of a peripheral portion of the pouch, respectively, in the state in which the peripheral portion of the pouch is gripped by the stripper and the lower die, the punch is inserted into the accommodation groove to mold the cup part of the pouch, and an anti-pushing groove is formed in any one of the lower die or the stripper, which presses the peripheral portion of the pouch.
Pouch Forming Apparatus and Method
The present invention relates to a pouch forming apparatus comprising: a die, in which forming grooves are formed with a partition wall therebetween; and a punch member provided with a punch, which is configured to be inserted into each of the forming grooves to press the pouch film to form a pair of accommodation grooves in the pouch film, wherein the forming groove comprises a vertical space disposed above a forming groove bottom part connected to the partition wall and an inclined space connected to the vertical space and formed by providing an inner wall facing the partition wall, the inner wall defining an inclined surface .
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A STRUCTURAL COMPONENT
A method is specified for producing a structural component, in particular for an aircraft, ground vehicle, or watercraft, or for a rotor blade of a wind turbine, in which method an arrangement of fibers and plastic material is laid in a mold and subjected to an increased pressure and an increased temperature, wherein a mold is used which comprises at least one recess in which a reinforcing element is arranged. The object is to be able to cost-effectively produce a structural component of this type. For this purpose, it is provided that the reinforcing element is laid in the recess together with a core, wherein a differential volume between the recess and core, at least in a predetermined region, is chosen such that it is smaller than a segment of the reinforcing element arranged in said region by a predetermined amount.
REDUCED WEIGHT SEMIAUTOMATIC PISTOL SLIDES AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A slide for a semiautomatic pistol includes features that reduce weight while maintaining structural rigidity and performance of the slide. The semiautomatic pistol slide may include one or more weight-reducing recesses and a structurally supportive insert within each weight-reducing recess. Methods and systems for fabricating semiautomatic pistol slides and other articles of manufacture that include weight-reducing recesses with structurally supportive inserts therein are also disclosed. Such a method may include a compression molding technique. Such a system may include a compression molding assembly.
COUPLER FOR AIR SUSPENSION AND APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A method of manufacturing a coupler for an air suspension includes: preparing a topping cord sheet and a rubber band; connecting the topping cord sheet and the rubber band to each other by attaching the rubber band to an outer circumferential surface of the topping cord sheet; and vulcanizing an intermediately formed body made by the connecting of the topping cord sheet and the rubber band to each other.
Method and Device for Producing Microneedles
The present disclosure relates to a method for producing microneedle arrays in a mold, including a plurality of receptacles that taper from an upper base surface to a lower tip surface, where a first component is fed into at least two receptacles through a feed opening that is spaced apart from the base surface, where the receptacles are filled with an additional component from above the feed opening, where the fillings of at least said two receptacles, which fillings are formed of at least the first component and the additional component, are connected to one another above the base surfaces, and where after the first component and the additional component have solidified, the microneedle array comprising the fillings that have solidified to form needles is removed from the mold.
Method for producing skin material
The method for producing a skin material includes heat-pressing a raw material using an embossing die to obtain a skin material having a concave part formed on a front surface side and a flat back surface. The raw material is heat-pressed between the embossing die and an elastic mat to form, as the concave part, at least one of a plurality of concave parts for intensity display having different depths of a bottom and a concave part for gradation display in which the depth of the bottom gradually changes.
METHODS FOR RECOVERING EXPANDED POLYMER TOOLING
Methods of recovering and/or recycling expanded polymer tooling, the methods including collecting expanded polymer tooling, reducing the collected expanded polymer tooling into smaller particles, treating the reduced expanded polymer tooling in order to yield an at least partially purified recovered polymer composition, and then collecting the at least partially purified recovered polymer composition. The at least partially purified recovered polymer composition can then be used to form new expandable polymer tooling.
