The hookah device (202) comprises a driver device (202) which controls the mist generator devices (201) to maximize the efficiency of mist generation by the mist generator devices (201) and optimize mist output from the hookah device (202).
TREATMENT OF PULMONARY CANCERS USING AN ELECTRONIC BREATH ACTUATED DROPLET DELIVERY DEVICE
Methods for the treatment of pulmonary cancers (primary, secondary, metastatic, etc.) using an electronic breath actuated droplet delivery device to deliver a cancer therapeutic directly to the pulmonary system of a subject in need thereof is disclosed. An in-line droplet delivery device and related methods for delivering precise and repeatable dosages to a subject for pulmonary use is disclosed. The in-line droplet delivery device includes a housing, an ejector mechanism, and at least one differential pressure sensor. The in-line droplet delivery device is automatically breath actuated by the user when the differential pressure sensor senses a predetermined pressure change within housing. The in-line droplet delivery device is then actuated to generate a plume of droplets having an average ejected particle diameter within the respirable size range, e.g, less than about 5-6 μm, so as to target the pulmonary system of the user.
INHALER, ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR INHALING INHALATION MEDIUM ENRICHED WITH ACTIVE INGREDIENTS AND/OR AROMATIC SUBSTANCES, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AN INHALER
An inhaler configured and adapted for inhaling an inhalation medium, enriched with active ingredients and/or flavouring substances, includes a cartridge carrier, a storage tank which contains the inhalation medium, a mouthpiece which is associated with the cartridge carrier, and an actuating mechanism for releasing the inhalation medium out of the storage tank in the direction of the mouthpiece. The inhaler has at least one sensor associated with the mouthpiece. The sensor is configured and adapted to detect characteristics of lips of the person using the inhaler and to provide a data signal formed from the characteristics. The sensor is connected to an electronic control unit associated with the inhaler, to which the actuating mechanism is also connected, in such a manner that the inhalation medium is released on the basis of the data signal. A corresponding arrangement and a corresponding method are disclosed.
Methods, Compositions and Devices for Treating Mild Traumatic Brain Injury, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Mild Traumatic Brain Injury with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Methods and compositions for treating mTBI, PTSD or mTBI with PTSD with psychedelic agents and N-acetylcysteine are provided. Nasal mist transducers for administration of one or more pharmaceutically active ingredients such as these as fine mist particles at preselected dosages and times are also provided.
SELF-CONTAINED FACE MASK SYSTEM WITH AUTOMATIC DROPLET DISPENSER FOR HUMIDIFICATION
Introduced here is a self-contained face mask system with an automated liquid-droplet dispensing mechanism (ADM) for humidification. The enclosure of the self-contained mask system can be comprised of one or more layers of breathable fabric adapted to flexibly conform to the face of a user when worn to form a cavity that is adjacent the nostrils and mouth. The ADM of the face mask system can be comprised of a reservoir in which liquid is stored, a respiratory cycle detector, a timer and controller, and a droplet dispenser that controllably dispenses droplets of the liquid from the reservoir into the cavity for inhalation by the user. The ADM can be contained entirely within the face mask enclosure or supported on the surface of the face mask enclosure such that the self-contained mask system, when worn by a user, can be supported entirely by the head and neck of the user.
AEROSOL-GENERATING DEVICE
An aerosol-generating device includes a pump. The pump includes a first pump chamber and a second pump chamber on opposing sides of a separation element. Each of the first pump chamber and the second pump chamber have an inlet valve and an outlet valve configured to establish a pumping direction. The pump also includes a first actuator and a second actuator. The first actuator is associated with the first pump chamber and the second actuator is associated with the second pump chamber. The first actuator and the second actuator are each configured to change a chamber volume of the respective pump chamber. The pump further includes a common inlet, and a common outlet. The common inlet and common outlet are in fluid communication with the first pump chamber and the second pump chamber and are configured to establish a flow direction. The pumping direction is aligned with the flow direction.
VIBRATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
In one arrangement, a vibration system includes a vibratable plate, a support member surrounding the vibratable plate, and a vibration-inducing member surrounding the support member. The vibration-inducing member is configured to radially expand and contract against the support member so as to produce axial vibration of the vibratable plate. In another arrangement, the vibratable plate has an outer circumference; a tubular member is concentrically disposed about the outer circumference of the plate, and an annular vibration-inducing member is concentrically disposed about the outer circumference of the tubular member. The vibration-inducing member is preferably a piezoelectric ring that is radially expandable and contractable against the wall of the tubular member to cause the plate to vibrate in the axial direction.
HUMAN ANTI-INFLAMMATORY PEPTIDES FOR THE INHALATORY TREATMENT OF INFLAMMATORY PULMONARY ISSUES
The present invention relates to the use of human anti-inflammatory peptides in the inhalatory treatment of inflammatory pulmonary diseases. The invention in particular relates to the use of vasoactive intestinal peptide, C-type natriuretic peptide, B-type natriuretic peptide, pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating peptide, adrenomedullin, alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone, relaxin and Interferon gamma for said purposes. Advantageous features of an aerosol containing such a human anti-inflammatory peptide and a method for producing said aerosol are disclosed. The present invention further relates to a kit for inhalatory treatment of inflammatory pulmonary diseases. One aspect relates to treatment of CoViD-19 related ARDS.
VIBRATING APERTURE PLATE NEBULIZER
A nebulizer has an aerosol generator, a reservoir, and an aerosol outlet. A piezoelectric vibration generator is on a downstream side of a support washer, and power to the piezo is provided by a spring contact assembly. The assembly has upstanding electrical terminals for contact with electrical supply conductors. There are spring terminals extending around a rim of the spring contact assembly to engage an exposed underside of the washer, and a resilient ridge extending in the upstream direction to engage the underside of the piezo, which itself is on the downstream side of the washer.
PHARMACEUTICAL AGENT, MEDICINAL SOLUTION FOR CLEANING PULMONARY ALVEOLI, AND NEBULIZER
Provided is a pharmaceutical agent for effective prophylaxis and/or treatment of a pathological condition with decreased lung compliance. The pharmaceutical agent for prophylaxis and/or treatment of a pathological condition with decreased lung compliance is characterized by having a polyamine.
