A jaw member for an electrosurgical instrument is manufactured by providing a jaw housing (18) having a longitudinal jaw section (19), and an electrically conductive plate (1). The electrically conductive plate is placed into a mould, and a first flowable insulating material (15) is injected into the mould such that the flowable material (15) forms one or more stop members (16) that project a predetermined distance from the electrically conductive plate. The jaw housing (18) and the electrically conductive plate (1) are then placed into a second mould, and a second flowable material (25) is injected into the mould to secure the electrically conductive plate (1) to the jaw housing (18).

Manufacturing method and manufacturing device for resin fan

A resin fan includes a semi-molded article in which a first circular plate and blades are integrated. While the semi-molded article is retained, a composite mold is moved to a secondary molding side, a second mold is put in a first position and a third mold is moved to the first position and inserted into the first mold. An intermediate part extends over the inner surface-side of a large-bend part, and causes the end of the third mold to engage with the first mold. Next, resin is poured into a secondary forming mold, and a second circular plate is integrally molded continuous with the blades of the semi-molded article, and a fan is molded. Together with the opening of the second mold and the composite mold, the third mold and the composite mold are opened, each of the molds is moved to a second position.

Injection Molding Apparatus

An injection molding apparatus includes a first upstream mold having a first gate opening into which a first molding material flows, a second upstream mold having a second gate opening into which a second molding material flows, a first injection unit injecting the first material through the first gate opening, a second injection unit injecting the second material through the second gate opening, and a downstream mold clampable with each of the first and second upstream molds. The second material is injected by the second injection unit after the first material is injected by the first injection unit. The second gate opening is separated further from the downstream mold than the first gate opening, and a volume of a second cavity partitioned by the second upstream mold and the downstream mold is larger than that of a first cavity partitioned by the first upstream mold and the downstream mold.

A mold and molding process for a first shot body member includes a pair of side walls, a semi-circular sleeve positioned between the pair of side walls to define a portion of a longitudinal pocket, and a pair of deflecting wings. Each deflecting wing is coupled to one of the side walls at a corner. A second shot isolation member of an elastically resilient second material is bonded to portions of an interior surface of the longitudinal pocket defined by each of: the semi-circular sleeve, each of the pair of side walls, each of the pair of corners, and each of the pair of wings. Mold members can include supporting surfaces to support interior and exterior portions of the wing during the second shot molding operation, while leaving an exposed interior bonding surface that defines a portion of the second shot molding cavity.
