Spatial composites

A housing of an electronic device includes a substrate defining an external surface and internal surface of the housing, at least one sidewall extending from the substrate, and abrasion-resistant members at least partly embedded in the substrate and extending beyond the external surface. The abrasion-resistant members may be formed from metal or ceramic. The substrate comprises a moldable matrix. The abrasion-resistant members are harder than the moldable matrix.

Manufacturing Method for Gear

Over an outer peripheral surface of a sleeve, a primer layer is formed that is a thermoplastic resin-based adhesive thermally melted at a temperature lower than a melting point of a thermoplastic resin formed into a resin member to exhibit adhesiveness. With the sleeve preheated, a thermoplastic resin to be formed into the resin member is annularly injection-molded over an outer periphery of the sleeve.

SEALING METHOD

A sealing method for sealing an opening of a metallic molded body with a resin molded body, the metallic molded body having a cavity therein and an opening connected to the cavity, includes a step of irradiating laser light onto a joining surface on a periphery of the opening of the metallic molded body in an energy density of 1 MW/cm.sup.2 or more and at an irradiation rate of 2000 mm/sec or more to roughen the surface, and a step of placing, in a mold, a portion including the joining surface of the metallic molded body roughened in the preceding step and sealing the opening with a resin molded body formed by injection molding or compression molding of a resin.

Sealing diaphragm and methods of manufacturing said diaphragm

Described is a method for manufacturing a diaphragm assembly through the use of injection molding. The method can avoid the use of PTFE as a chemically resistant coating. Further, the method can increase overall adherence of a polymer diaphragm to an insert through the use of an interference surface on at least the surface of a head of the insert.

Overmold decorative floor mat emblem

A floor mat including an elastomeric mat and an emblem with a base and a shell. The base has a portion supporting the shell and a peripheral flange portion surrounding the supporting portion and forming a hidden portion within the floor mat and having apertures. The shell overlays the supporting portion and forms a visible portion of the emblem on only one side of the floor mat. The apertures are essentially filled with elastomer to fix the emblem into the desired location on the floor mat. Also, the emblem and a method for making a floor mat.

METALLIC HOUSING OF ELECTRONIC DEVICE

A method of manufacturing a casing of an electronic device including the following steps is provided. A metallic housing is provided, wherein the metallic housing has an inner surface and an outer surface opposite to the inner surface and includes a back region and at least one side region. At least one gap, a plurality of apertures and a non-conductive layer are formed on the inner surface of the metallic housing, wherein the apertures is formed on a surface of the at least one gap, part of the non-conductive layer is formed in the at least one gap and extended from the back region to the at least one side region, and part of the non-conductive layer is extended into the apertures. Part of the metallic housing is removed for exposing part of the non-conductive layer, thereby forming a plurality of non-conductive spacers located in the at least one gap.

REEL BASED CLOSURE SYSTEM

A reel based tensioning device includes a housing, a spool that is rotatably positioned within the housing, and a knob member that is operably coupled with the spool to cause the spool to rotate in a first direction within the housing and thereby wind a tension member about the spool. The reel based tensioning device also includes a load holding mechanism that is coupled with the spool and that is configured to rotate the spool in the first direction within the housing and to prevent rotation of the spool in a second direction to prevent unwinding of the tension member from about the spool. The reel based tensioning device further includes an audible component that is configured to produce an audible noise responsive to operation of the knob member to signal an adjustment of the tension member.

Aluminum alloy resin composite and method of preparing the same

A method of preparing an aluminum alloy resin composite comprises: providing an aluminum alloy substrate having an oxide layer on a surface thereof, wherein the oxide layer has one or more nanopores; forming one or more corrosion pores on an outer surface of the oxide layer by using a corrosion agent, wherein the corrosion agent is at least one selected from a group of ammonia, ammonium salt, hydrazine, hydrazine derivative, and water-soluble amine compound; and injection molding a resin composition to the surface of the aluminum alloy substrate.

VALVE SEAT SUPPORT

A valve seat support for a solenoid valve consists of a sleeve-shaped support housing for accommodating a valve seat body, which is produced from a plastic and which has the contour of a hollow cylinder. The support housing has, on the periphery thereof, a plurality of small-surface recesses, which are directly radially inward and which are surrounded by the plastic of the valve seat body on all sides in order to establish an interlocking connection between the support housing and the valve seat body.
