Disclosed is a connector for a medical tube, the connector having a first portion having a first opening, a second portion having a second opening, a lumen formed by the first portion and the second portion, the lumen providing a gases flow path between the first opening and the second opening, the first portion of the connector comprises at least one sensor port, the sensor port extending, through a wall of the first portion of the connector into the lumen, the second portion of the connector body may have at least one electrical port, the electrical port configured to provide for electrical connection with at least one wire of the medical tube, and the electrical port is located on the top of the second portion of the connector the first portion is angled with respect to the second portion to form an elbow.
Nitric oxide generation, dilution, analysis, and topical application compositions, systems, apparatus and methods
Topical applications that provide a nitric oxide therapy to a surface are provided. Systems for providing a topical nitric oxide therapy can comprise a nitrite medium in a first container, the nitrite medium comprising about 3% of a nitrite component by weight. The system comprises an acidic medium in a second container, the acidic medium comprising about 9% by weight of one or more acidic reactants. The nitrite medium and the acidic medium are configured to be combined to form a nitric oxide topical medium producing nitric oxide suitable for topical application and suitable for administering nitric oxide therapy wherein a therapeutically effective amount of the nitric oxide topical medium is applied to a treatment surface suitable for receiving nitric oxide therapy, whereby the application of the therapeutically effective amount is adapted to deliver a dose of nitric oxide at the treatment surface of a patient.
Fluid control device
A fluid control device includes a case including an internal space that is partitioned by a partition wall into an air blowing chamber and a control chamber. A dividing wall is disposed inside the air blowing chamber to partition an internal space of the air blowing chamber into a first air blowing chamber and a second air blowing chamber. A fan unit is housed in the second air blowing chamber. A differential pressure sensor senses a differential pressure between a pressure inside the first air blowing chamber and a pressure inside the second air blowing chamber. A controller controls a fan based on the sensed differential pressure.
WHEEL LOCK FOR THUMBWHEEL ACTUATED DEVICE
A wheel lock or clip for maintaining position of a thumbwheel or wheel of a rotary actuated delivery device includes an arcuate or curved body having a live hinge extending therefrom, the hinge connected to an arm having an engagement tooth extending therefrom. The tooth is operatively connected to tab for actuation by a user to disengage the engagement tooth from teeth of gear or barrel of a wheel or a thumbwheel of the rotary actuated device to thereby allow free movement of the wheel or thumbwheel.
Method and system for delivering oxygen to a patient
A system for delivering oxygen comprises an oxygen source; a ventilator operatively connected to the oxygen source to receive a supply of oxygen therefrom; a valve having a) an open position in which the ventilator receives the supply of oxygen from the oxygen source and b) a closed position in which the ventilator is not in fluid communication with the oxygen source; a sensor configured to measure breath flow information for the patient; and a computer system to: determine a volume of gas delivered to the patient during a breath cycle of the patient and an inspiratory volume of gas delivered to the patient during an inspiration phase of the breath cycle by using the breath flow information; and provide input to the valve based on the determined volumes, the provided input causing a movement of the valve between the open and the closed positions.
Power supply for respiratory therapy device
A respiratory therapy device generates a flow of breathable gas for therapy. The apparatus may include a flow generator in a housing to generate the breathable gas flow. The flow generator may have an operating voltage for such operations. The device may include a battery pack that is engageable with the housing. The battery pack may be configured to power the flow generator and may include a stand-by circuit configured to switch between stand-by and operating modes. The stand-by circuit may be configured to provide a stand-by operations voltage while in the stand-by mode that is less than an operating voltage of the flow generator and may be configured to detect current demand of the flow generator with the stand-by operations voltage while in stand-by mode such as for enabling an increase voltage from the battery pack to produce the operating voltage in the operating mode for the flow generator.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE WEAR OF A VENTILATOR
Device for determining a usage intensity of a ventilator, having at least one control unit and a usage clock, which is designed and configured to detect the duration of the usage of the ventilator. The device is characterized in that the control unit is configured and designed to offset the duration of the usage of the ventilator with at least one wear factor, in order to determine at least one wear therefrom.
Optical device, system and method for monitoring blood-borne chromophores
Described herein are various embodiments of systems and devices operable to detect individual oxygen delivery events at a user body region which are associated with external oxygen boluses administered to a user. Such devices and system may be useful, for example, in assessing the efficacy of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or intubation.
DIGITAL TWIN OF LUNG THAT IS CALIBRATED AND UPDATED WITH MECHANICAL VENTILATOR DATA AND BED-SIDE IMAGING INFORMATION FOR SAFE MECHANICAL VENTILATION
A mechanical ventilation device comprising at least one electronic controller configured to receive imaging data and transpulmonary pressure data associated with a lung of a patient; perform deformable image registration of the inhalation image and the exhalation image to produce a relative compliance or elasticity map of the lungs; convert the relative compliance or elasticity map of the lungs to a quantitative compliance or elasticity map of the lungs based on the inhale transpulmonary pressure and the exhale transpulmonary pressure; and display the information relating to or derived from the quantitative compliance or elasticity map on a display device.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A PUMP IN A HUMIDIFIER
A pump arrangement for powering a pump in providing a controlled volume of water to a drip nozzle in a drip-feed humidifier. The pump arrangement includes: a pump having a solenoid; a processing unit; and a power supply electrically connected to the solenoid via a switch which is controlled by the processing unit. The power supply is structured to supply power to the solenoid via the switch. The processing unit is programmed to modulate the power provided to the solenoid via the switch such that the power is supplied to the solenoid according to a mirror image power profile for each actuation of the solenoid for retracting the armature. The mirror image power profile includes: an initial portion which decreases at a third overall rate, an intermediate portion which decreases at a second overall rate different than the third overall rate, and a final portion which increases at a first overall rate.
