FIBER-COMPOSITE BICYCLE FRAME ARTICLE FORMED ON MOLDED MANDREL
A method for the manufacture of a fiber-composite article for a bicycle frame or other bicycle component uses an outer mold configured to define an outer surface of the fiber-composite article and an inner mold configured to define an inner surface of the fiber-composite article. The method comprises: securing in the inner mold a supportive armature for a space-filling mandrel, the mandrel being configured to occupy a space within the inner surface of the fiber-composite article during lay up and curing of the fiber-composite article; forming the mandrel by injection molding a solidifiable fluid into the inner mold, around the armature, the solidifiable fluid being configured to form a solidified, molded material; applying a fiber composition to the mandrel; securing the mandrel with the fiber composition in the outer mold; heating the fiber composition in the outer mold to form the fiber-composite article and concurrently heating the solidified, molded material. In this manner, the fiber composition is compressed into the outer mold due to expansion of the solidified, molded material.
Method for manufacturing ball joint and method for manufacturing stabilizer link
Provided is a method for manufacturing a ball joint including a ball-seat molding step for forming a ball seat assembly by using, as a core, a ball section of a ball stud, the ball section of which is integrally provided in advance at one end portion of a stud section, and insert-molding a ball seat made of resin to cover at least a portion of the ball section present on an opposite side to the stud section, and a housing molding step for insert-molding a housing made of resin by using, as a core, the ball section partially covered by the ball seat of the ball seat assembly.
BALL JOINT, SUSPENSION ARM COMPRISING SAME, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A suspension arm includes a ball stud including a spherical ball; a bearing in which the spherical ball is accommodated; a housing having an inner peripheral portion and an outer peripheral portion; an arm body coupled to the outer peripheral portion of the housing; and an insert molding part which is injected to a lower portion of the bearing and the outer peripheral portion of the housing to be coupled to the bearing, the housing, and the arm body. The housing includes a matching portion having a matching surface formed to protrude in a radially outward direction from an upper portion of the outer peripheral portion and to be brought into contact with a mold. By forming the matching portion, it is possible to reduce the volume of the housing and to reduce the weight of the suspension arm while providing the matching surface with the mold.
METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING INTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY
A method for assembling a vehicular interior rearview mirror assembly includes providing a mirror mount and a mirror head. The mirror head includes a transparent mirror frame and a mirror reflective element accommodated at the transparent mirror frame. The transparent mirror frame has a patterned front side having a plurality of channels established thereat and a rear side opposite the patterned front side. An illumination source is provided at the mirror head. The patterned front side of the transparent mirror frame is patterned to reflect light emitted by the illumination source, when powered, so that an illumination pattern is visible to a person viewing the rear of the transparent mirror frame. The mirror head is pivotally mounted at the mirror mount.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING RESIN STRUCTURE, AND RESIN STRUCTURE
This method for manufacturing a resin structure (1) is provided with: a step for arranging a sheet (30) having a smooth surface (31) having a maximum height roughness of 3 m or less, inside a forming mold (40) such that the smooth surface (31) faces an internal space (44) of the forming mold (40); a step for molding a resin molded body (10) to which the sheet (30) is adhered, by filling the internal space (44) with a resin; a step for separating the resin molded body (10) from the sheet (30), thereby forming a first region (11) having a maximum height roughness of 3 m or less on at least a portion of the surface of the resin molded body (10); and a step for using a fluid conductive ink to form a wiring (20) on the first region (11).
VEHICULAR DRIVING ASSIST SYSTEM INCLUDING MULTIPLE CAMERAS AND RADAR SENSOR
A vehicular driving assist system includes a rearward viewing camera, a driver-side camera, a passenger-side camera and at least one radar sensor. Image data captured by the cameras is provided to a control and radar data captured by the radar sensor is provided to the control. The control processes the provided captured data to determine a potential hazard presented by rear-approaching traffic. The control outputs video image data for display by a display device of the equipped vehicle. The display device includes a video display screen that displays video images for viewing by a driver of the equipped vehicle during operation of the equipped vehicle. The control processes provided captured image data and provided captured radar data to alert the driver to the determined potential hazard presented by the rear-approaching traffic in the side traffic lane adjacent to the traffic lane being traveled by the equipped vehicle.
Overmolded swivel with angular interlock
An angular interlock for a swivel feature formed using injection molding techniques is described herein. In one exemplary embodiment, the swivel feature is used for a conduit for delivering breathing therapy to a patient, and includes an outer swivel component and an inner swivel component formed using a two-shot molding technique. The outer swivel component is formed first out of a material, such as polycarbonate, having a low shrink rate, whereas the inner swivel component is formed of a material, such as polypropylene, having a high shrink rate. The material for the inner swivel component is injected into the formed outer swivel component and allowed to cool, creating a clearance. The outer swivel component includes an angular interlock protrusion that allows the inner swivel component to be formed without creating an interface about the angular interlock protrusion, which typically occurs with standard rectangular interlocks.
Ball joint, and stabilizer link using same
This ball joint is provided with: a ball stud, one end being fastened to a suspension device/stabilizer, and the other end having a ball part; a housing that rotatably supports the ball part of the ball stud; and a ball seat provided so as to be interposed between the housing and the ball part, the ball seat having an inner spherical part for accommodating the ball part. The ball seat is provided to the housing by insert injection molding. The inside diameter dimension of the inner spherical part formed by separate injection molding is set to a dimension corresponding to the anticipated amount of molding shrinkage of the resin during the insert injection molding.
