Multi-step method for producing a soundproof composite cover for internal combustion engines and product thus obtained, producing a cover made of thermoplastic material and insulating foam. The method uses a multiple mold with first and second cells, having male and female elements, the cells taking a first closed configuration and a second open configuration; the method including: closing the multiple mold and injecting the thermoplastic material through a channel from a hot chamber to the first cell; the thermoplastic material solidifies and the multiple mold is opened to move the solidified thermoplastic material from the first cell to the second cell; closing the multiple mold and, while a new injection occurs in the first cell, an insulating foam is injected into the second cell; and opening the double mold and, while the finished product is extracted from the second cell, a new transfer occurs from the first cell.

Two-color molded article

A two-color molded article includes a first resin part, and a second resin part in contact with the first resin part so as to at least partially overlap the first resin part. The second resin part includes a single layer region provided between a first region and a second region and provided in a penetrating portion formed between a first portion and a second portion. The single layer region has a joint portion in contact with a bent portion. The joint portion is formed in a convex shape with respect to the bent portion.

Steering wheel and method of manufacturing same

A steering wheel is provided with a heater element on the rim. The heater element is mounted at least on a part of a core of the rim, and a cladding layer formed from synthetic resin foam covers an outer circumference of the heater element. The heater element includes a cord-shaped heater and a base material. The base material includes an insulation sheet that is formed from synthetic resin foam and disposed to face towards the core and a permeable sheet that is formed from non-metal which allows permeation of the cladding layer. The insulation sheet and permeable sheet are bonded together and sandwich and support the cord-shaped heater there between.

Stator injection molding centralization

In a stator injection molding centralization technique, a mold core is disposed inside a stator tube, thereby forming an annulus between the stator tube and mold core. The mold core includes a pitch length defined between a first and second lobe tip of the mold core. A centralizing member is positioned in the annulus, which has a length at least as long as the pitch length of the mold core. During the injection molding process, elastomeric material is injected into the annulus behind the centralizing member, which is located adjacent to the injection point. As the elastomer is injected, it displaces the centralizing member ahead of it along the annulus. As the centralizing member moves through the annulus, it supports the mold core, thus preventing the sag effect.

Outer shell for a dispenser

An outer shell for a dispenser and a method for making same are provided, the outer shell including first and second injection molded plastic component parts. The first and second component parts each include an outer surface and an inner surface, with the first component part having a first mating surface directed to the outer surface of the first component part and the second component part having a second mating surface directed to an inner surface of the second component part. The first and second component parts are joined to each other along a seam by mating the first mating surface and the second mating surface during injection moulding. A plurality of recesses is formed in the inner surface of the first component part along the seam and/or on a gate protrusion extending away from a free end of the first mating surface of the first component part.

INFUSION DEVICE WITH RELEASABLE FLUID CONNECTOR

An infusion set system includes a base and a fluid connector removably coupleable thereto. The fluid connector includes a fluid path portion and at least one connector latch displaceably connected to the fluid path portion and displaceable to a latching position in which at least a portion of the connector latch extends into the fluid path portion, which includes a cannula extending from a top interior surface thereof, and a plurality of internal sidewalls corresponding to at least two of a plurality of flat side surfaces of at least one of a base section and a base latch, thereby facilitating connection between the base and the fluid connector in a plurality of discrete rotational connecting positions. When the fluid connector is locked to the base, the at least one connector latch engages a base latching portion of the base and restricts proximal displacement of the fluid connector.

A method of forming a cap assembly comprises injection molding a cap in a first shot from a first polymeric material, wherein the cap has an opening at one end defined by a perimeter. Injection molding a tamper band in a second shot from a second polymeric material such that the tamper band is monolithically attached to the perimeter of the cap. The first polymeric material and the second polymeric material comprise dissimilar resins and the tamper band is configured to sever from the cap with no burrs remaining on the perimeter of the cap.

Method for molding an article from thermosetting elastomer compositions and article molded

An article is molded from first and second thermosetting elastomer compositions each comprising free-radically curable elastomer and free radical initiator but different from one another. The first thermosetting elastomer composition is molded to fill a first area of a mold cavity at a first temperature at which the first free radical initiator has a half-lifeabout 10 minutes or at which the first thermosetting elastomer composition has an increase in torque less than 10% of a total increase in torque at full cure. The second thermosetting elastomer composition is then inserted into the mold cavity, and the mold is heated to fully cure the article, for example a temperature at which each free radical initiator has a half-lifeabout 1 minute, with the second composition filling a second area of the mold cavity before or during heating and curing.
