Assembly for use in a liquid droplet apparatus
An assembly for use in a liquid droplet apparatus comprises a vibrating element (201), an aperture plate (205) and a vibrating platform (203). The vibrating platform is positioned between the vibrating element and the aperture plate for conveying vibrations from the vibrating element to the aperture plate. The vibrating platform (203) is structured such that the aperture plate (205) is located within a cavity (202) formed in the vibrating platform.
Heated respiratory hose assembly
An undermold coupling to couple a hose to a hose fitting includes: a tubular portion to be inserted into a hose interface of the hose fitting; threads formed on an inner surface of the tubular portion to engage a support helix on an end of the hose as a set of threads; and a first grating comprising a first plurality of elongate portions to intermesh with a corresponding second plurality of elongate portions of a second grating of the hose interface, wherein the first plurality of elongate portions extend into a second plurality of slots defined by the second plurality of elongate portions, and the second plurality of elongate portions extend into a first plurality of slots defined by the first plurality of elongate portions.
Indirect measurement in a total liquid ventilation system
A method, connector and system for obtaining an indirect measurement of a parameter in a patient with a total liquid ventilation (TLV) system. At least one parameter measurement is obtained of a liquid taken in the TLV system comprising an endotracheal tube having a distal end inserted in a patient's trachea. At least one flow measurement is obtained of a liquid taken in the TLV system. Considering a fluid model of the TLV system, the at least one parameter measurement and the least one flow measurement are processed into the indirect measurement of the parameter in the patient. The indirect measurement may be a temperature or pressure. The temperature can be a lung temperature, a blood temperature or an organ temperature. The pressure may be a tracheal pressure or an alveolar pressure.
Textile vent assembly
A CPAP system for respiratory therapy includes an RPT device configured to supply a flow of gas at a therapeutic pressure, a patient interface, an air delivery conduit configured to pass the flow of gas from the RPT device to the patient interface, and a vent assembly configured to provide a vent flow of gas to discharge gas exhaled by the patient from a pressurized volume to ambient. The vent assembly includes a base including at least one first orifice to allow gas to be discharged along a primary vent flow path and at least one second orifice to allow gas to be discharged along a secondary vent flow path, a diffusing member provided to the base, and a membrane provided to the base. The membrane is configured to apportion the vent flow of gas along the primary vent flow path and the secondary vent flow path throughout respiratory therapy.

TOTAL LIQUID VENTILATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A total liquid ventilation system configured to deliver a breathable liquid to the lungs of a mammal, the total liquid ventilation system including: an inspiratory circuit, an expiratory circuit, a pumping system; a thermal unit; a gas injection system; and a breathable liquid treatment unit, wherein the breathable liquid treatment unit includes a backing device, a plate and a bag.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DELIVERING FLUIDS AND/OR GASES TO THE LUNGS
An apparatus and method for providing heat exchange in the lungs of the mammal during partial liquid ventilation are provided. The apparatus and method can control delivery and removal of partial liquid ventilation to the lungs of a mammal by responding to pressure change in the lungs to minimize danger of causing barotrauma to the patient.
Liquid ventilator and method to induce tidal liquid ventilation and/or hyporthermia
Liquid ventilator and methods integrating the concept of total liquid ventilation (TLV) using liquid volumes below functional residual capacity (FRC) of mammal's lungs are disclosed. Beyond the automatization of the whole process, the technology has been up-scaled to confirm that TLV at residual volumes below FRC can provide a safe procedure while enabling the full potential of TLV in a mammal such as humans or adult-sized animals. Such tidal liquid ventilation strongly differs from the previously known TLV approach, opening promising perspectives for a safer clinical translation. Also disclosed are apparatus and method for safe and fast induction of hypothermia during liquid ventilation of a mammal.
Bioartifical lung
Presented is an airway organ bioreactor apparatus, and methods of use thereof, as well as bioartificial airway organs produced using the methods, and methods of treating subjects using the bioartificial airway organs.
