The invention relates to a protective cover (1) for a medical ventilator (20) adapted for use in a contaminated environment, in particular an NRBC environment, having a peripheral casing (2) defining an internal compartment (3) designed to accommodate a medical ventilator (20). The peripheral casing (2) has a plurality of connection interfaces (4, 5, 6, 7) sealably attached to said peripheral casing (2). Each connection interface (4, 5, 6, 7) has at least one internal gas passage with at least one gas inlet and at least one gas outlet. A sealing device is arranged in the internal gas passage of at least one connection interface (4, 5, 6, 7) for sealing said internal gas passage.

The flow generator includes a connector disposed in the first inlet and a nozzle disposed within at least a portion of the connector and extending into the first inner chamber. The flow generator further includes an adapter engaged to the nozzle to form a fluid tight path such that the adapter connects to an external oxygen source and transports oxygen into the nozzle.

The invention further refers to a corresponding method of controlling a respiratory protection device.

A flow generator for generating a mixed oxygen air flow, the flow generator including a body having a first inlet, a second inlet, an outlet, and one or more inner surfaces that define a first inner chamber in fluid communication with the first inlet and the second inlet, a second inner chamber in fluid communication with the first inner chamber, and a third inner chamber in fluid communication with the second chamber and the outlet of the body. The flow generator includes a connector disposed in the first inlet and a nozzle disposed within at least a portion of the connector and extending into the first inner chamber. The flow generator further includes an adapter engaged to the nozzle to form a fluid tight path such that the adapter connects to an external oxygen source and transports oxygen into the nozzle.

Respiration aiding equipment is provided, wherein the respiration aiding equipment includes a main control module, a heating loop and a heating loop protective circuit connected to the heating loop, and the heating loop protective circuit includes an acquisition sub-circuit, a suppression sub-circuit, a protective sub-circuit and a discharge sub-circuit; the acquisition sub-circuit collects input voltage of the protective sub-circuit and sends the input voltage to the suppression sub-circuit; the suppression sub-circuit clamps the input voltage and releases current through the discharge sub-circuit; and the protective sub-circuit performs short-circuit protection when the current is too high. In the present disclosure, the over-voltage protection is realized through the voltage clamp in such a manner of monitoring the voltage of the heating loop and suppressing the input voltage through the suppression sub-circuit, and then the over-current protection is realized through the protective sub-circuit when the circuit current is too high.

The nasal cannula interface may comprise one or more structural features that are configured to help manage, avoid and/or reduce generation of aerosols by the patient during breathing and/or whilst breathing gases from a respiratory support apparatus.
