MULTILAYER ARTICLES AND METHODS OF MAKING
Embodiments of multilayer articles and methods of producing multilayer articles are disclosed. The multilayer articles include a stack (A-B).sub.n of n layer units A-B, where n is greater than or equal to 64, each layer unit A-B comprising a first nanolayer A and a second nanolayer B overlying the first nanolayer A. The first nanolayer A of the layer units comprises a heterogeneous blend. The second nanolayer B of the layer units comprising a homogeneous material.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRINTING LARGE THERMOPLASTIC PARTS DURING ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
Embodiments of the present disclosure are drawn to additive manufacturing apparatus and methods. An exemplary additive manufacturing system may include an extruder, the extruder having an opening dimensioned to receive a material. The apparatus may also include an extruder output in fluid communication with the extruder, wherein the extruder output extends away from the extruder along a longitudinal axis. One or more heaters positioned along at least a portion of the extruder output may also be included, and, as the material passes through the extruder output, the one or more heaters may at least partially melt the material. The system may also include a gear pump in fluid communication with the extruder output for receiving the at least partially melted material, and a nozzle in fluid communication with the gear pump for depositing the at least partially melted material.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLY-4-METHYL-1-PENTENE WITH LOWER MOLECULAR WEIGHT
According to the method of the present invention. poly-4-methyl-1-pentene with a lower molecular weight can be easily and safely produced by mixing poly-4-methyl-1-pentene and another type of polyolefin (I) and conducting melt-stirring at a temperature equal to or higher than the melting points of both the poly-4-methyl-1-pentene and the polyolefin (I).

POLYMER FIBER SCAFFOLDS AND USES THEREOF
A multilayered polymer composite film includes a water-soluble polymer matrix and a plurality of fibers embedded within the water soluble polymer matrix. The fibers include a water insoluble polymer material and at least one of a non-polymeric hydrophobic therapeutic agent or a non-polymeric hydrophobic cosmetic agent incorporated in the water insoluble polymer material. The fibers have a rectangular cross-section, and extend the entire length of the multilayered polymer composite film.
ELECTRIC WIRE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING ELECTRIC WIRE, AND MASTERBATCH
The present disclosure provides an electric wire having excellent smoothness, appearance, and storage stability. The electric wire includes a core wire and a coating layer covering the core wire. The coating layer contains a fluorine-free resin and a fluorine-containing crystalline polymer. The fluorine-free resin includes at least one selected from the group consisting of polyamide resins, polyolefin resins, and polyvinyl chloride resin. The fluorine-containing crystalline polymer represents 0.5 to 4.0 mass % relative to the fluorine-free resin.

Thermally degradable polymeric fibers
A thermally degradable polymeric fiber comprising a polymeric fiber matrix including a poly(hydroxyalkanoate) and a metal in the form of a compound selected from the group consisting of an alkaline earth metal oxide, a tin salt of a mono- or di-carboxylic acid, and scandium triflate (Sc(0Tf).sub.3), where the concentration of the metal in the fiber matrix is at least 0.1 wt %.

Disclosed are a resin composition for coating a plastic glazing to provide superior scratch resistance and weather resistance and satisfactory compatibility with polycarbonate glass, and a plastic glazing coated with the same. In particular, the resin composition may be suitable for a glazing, for example, a panorama sunroof of a vehicle and the like. In addition, disclosed is a method of economically manufacturing the plastic glazing and the method comprises integrally molding a substrate comprising the resin composition of the present invention, polycarbonate and the like through double injection or double extrusion.
