The present invention is directed to an apparatus for forming a multi-layer web formed from at least two polymeric film tubes in intimate contact with each other but not bonded to each other. The apparatus includes the use of a blown film extrusion die that extrudes two separate blown film polymeric tubes via two separate annular die lips. A fluid cooling system applies cooling fluid across a plurality of surfaces of the two blown film tubes. One of the die lips may be at a different height from the other die lip. The frost line of one blown film tube may be at a different height from the other blown film tube.

3D PRINTING OF FIBROUS STRUCTURES

Methods and apparatuses for printing a three-dimensional fibrous structure are disclosed. A fibrous layer is printed onto a printing surface by forcing fibers through at least one extrusion die and onto the printing surface. The extrusion die and/or printing surface are moved in the X, Y, and/or Z direction while printing the fibers.

PROCESS FOR PRODUCING HOLLOW RESIN-MOLDED ARTICLE, AND FUEL TANK

A process of producing a hollow resin-molded article includes: arranging covers on inner walls of mold halves, the covers having shapes corresponding to the inner walls; introducing a pair of sheets of thermoplastic resin each facing the cover arranged on the inner wall of a corresponding mold half; blowing air into a space between the sheets to cause the sheets to respectively contact the covers arranged on the inner walls, and thereby fusion-welding the sheets to the covers; and closing the mold halves; and cooling down the covers and the sheets in a state where the mold halves are closed. In the step of arranging, there are uncovered portions of the inner walls that are not covered by the cover. In the step of closing, there are mold contact portions of the sheets that respectively contact the uncovered portions directly and the mold contact portions are fusion-welded to each other in an overlapping manner.

A weighing apparatus for the preparation of a mixture of granular components that comprise batches of material required by a plurality of processing machines in a plant for the manufacture of plastic products is described. The apparatus comprises a Multi-Channel Gravimetric Batch Blender (MCGBB) configured to weigh predetermined weights of the raw materials and to combine the weighed portions of raw materials into batches according to a predetermined recipe for each processing machine and a computer that controls the operation of all components of the MCGBB. The MCGBB comprises several weighing units arranged in a way that allows material weighed in each of the weighing units to fall through individual chutes via a common funnel into a manifold that distributes the weighed batches to several processing machines via a system of delivery pipes.

Pellet-Based Fused Deposition Modeling 3-D Print Process for Production Manufacturing

A device and method manufacture an object for a user by fused deposition. A screw conveyor conveys a plurality of solid thermoplastic pellets from a hopper to a barrel. A heating element, coupled to the barrel, melts the solid thermoplastic pellets within the barrel, thereby producing a thermoplastic liquid. The thermoplastic liquid is extruded through a nozzle that caps one end of the barrel, the extruded thermoplastic liquid thereafter solidifying into the object. A computerized control system controls both a flow rate of the thermoplastic liquid, by adjusting rotation of a motor coupled to the screw conveyor, and a position of the nozzle above the build surface according to a three-dimensional shape of the object. The device and method are particularly suited for mass production of customized shoes and other objects, whereby thermoplastic material can be easily combined with customized colorants and blowing agents.
