Fused Deposition Modeling Filament Production Apparatus
A fused deposition modeling filament production apparatus including an extrusion unit comprising an extruder, feeding means for feeding FDM raw material into the extrusion unit, a filament discharge at an end of the extruder, a filament cooling unit linked to the filament discharge, a filament buffer unit for receiving and storing the filament from the cooling unit. The extrusion unit, the filament cooling unit and the filament buffer unit are accommodated in a frame. The extrusion unit is horizontally accommodated in a top section of the frame, having the feeding means on top of the extrusion unit and extending vertically from the extrusion unit. The filament discharge is arranged for substantially vertically downward discharging the extruded filament from the extrusion unit. The filament cooling unit and filament buffer unit are accommodated in a lower section of the frame below the extrusion unit.
Coextrusion machine for elastomeric compounds, and method for manufacturing a profiled element strip
The machine includes an extrusion head having flow ducts, the inlet orifices of which are connected to the outlets of at least two extruders for supplying extruded strips made of elastomeric compounds. The outlet orifices lead into a die which is adjacent to a roller and is designed to cooperate with the latter to shape the profiled element strip. The roller has a central axis surrounded by an external surface intended to receive the profiled element strip and a means for driving the roller in rotation about its central axis. The flow ducts are mutually parallel and are perpendicular to the circumferential direction of the roller, and the profiled element strip is joined to the receiving surface of the roller along an equivalent length of at least 700 mm.
Electrospinning device and method for applying polymer to tissue
An electrosurgical electrospinning device is presented including a reservoir having a polymer solution disposed therein, the reservoir cooperating with a dispensing apparatus configured to dispense the polymer solution from the reservoir. The electrosurgical electrospinning device further includes a plurality of nozzles connected to the reservoir, each nozzle of the plurality of nozzles including a plurality of needles and a blow-spraying mechanism for blowing gas around each nozzle of the plurality of nozzles when the polymer solution is dispensed from the plurality of needles. The gas from the blow-spraying mechanism and the polymer solution from the plurality of needles are coaxially applied directly onto tissue at voltages of less than or equal to 3 kV.
MODULAR MOLDING ASSEMBLY
A molding apparatus defining a processing direction includes multiple molding modules spaced apart in a lateral direction perpendicular to the processing direction and a common reaction surface. Each molding module includes a frame and a mold roll that defines molding cavities. Each mold roll defines a respective pressure zone in cooperation with the reaction surface and each mold roll is movable with respect to the reaction surface by controlled operation of the frame. Molten resin is introduced into the pressure zones and forced into the molding cavities to form arrays of fastener elements extending from base layers of resin formed on the surfaces of the mold rolls. The fastener elements are withdrawn from the cavities while stripping the base layers from the peripheral surfaces.
CASTING APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING POLYMER FILM
A casting apparatus for manufacturing polymer film includes a die for discharging a molten polymer and having discharge direction oriented at a discharge angle offset from horizontal. The apparatus includes a first chill roll having a first diameter and a second chill roll having a second greater diameter. There is a first gap between the first chill roll and the second chill roll. The discharge angle is of a predetermined magnitude to gravity assist delivery of the molten polymer to the first gap. The second chill roll is positioned to gravity support the film exiting the first gap along a first length of a first side of the film. A first polishing roll is positioned downstream first and second chill rolls. The first polishing roll engages and cools a second length of a second opposite side of the film. The first length is substantially equal to the second length
Process of making battery separators via spinning
A method for preparing a high temperature melt integrity separator, the method comprising spinning a polymer by one or more of a mechanical spinning process and an electro-spinning process to produce fine fibers.
Systems and methods for controlled laydown of materials in a fiber production system
Described herein are apparatuses and methods of creating fibers, such as microfibers and nanofibers. The methods discussed herein employ centrifugal forces to transform material into fibers. Apparatuses that may be used to create fibers are also described. To improve the collection of fibers, various devices and systems for controlling the deposition pattern of the produced fibers are described.
Bond magnet and method for manufacturing the same
A method for manufacturing a bond magnet includes providing a bond magnet composition including a magnetic material and a resin, extruding the bond magnet composition in one direction to produce a molded body while orienting the magnetic material in the one direction, magnetizing the molded body in the one direction using an axial magnetization to produce a magnetized molded body, and laminating the magnetized molded body to produce a laminated molded body including first magnetized molded layers and second magnetized molded layers. The first magnetized molded layers and the second magnetized molded layers are alternately laminated. A first magnetization direction of each of the first magnetized molded layers is opposite to a second magnetization direction of each of the second magnetized molded layers.
