Blockage Removal
Techniques for blockage removal are provided, which may provide immediate and effective aid to a choking victim. A blockage removal device may comprise a mouthpiece disposed on an inlet. The inlet may be coupled to a chamber configured to hold a vacuum generated by a vacuum pump. A vacuum gauge may display information to a user, who may open or close a valve to provide or remove a vacuum to attempt to remove a blockage.
Endotracheal tube holding device
Endotracheal tube holders having bottom surface including protrusions that contact the endotracheal tube, and a strap that wraps around the bottom surface and the tube to secure the endotracheal tube to the tube holder.

VENTILATOR WITH GASPING MODE
An automated mechanical ventilator may include a positive pressure source that periodically delivers periodic positive pressure ventilations to a patient when a pressure within the patient's airway is greater than a predetermined threshold. The ventilator may include an inspiratory lumen coupled with the positive pressure source. The ventilator may include an inlet valve interfaced with the inspiratory lumen. The inlet valve may open with each positive pressure ventilation. The ventilator may include an expiratory lumen. The ventilator may include a pressure sensor in fluid communication with the expiratory lumen that senses the pressure within the patient's airway. The ventilator may include an outlet valve interfaced with the expiratory lumen. The ventilator may include a controller that opens the first valve without delivering a positive pressure ventilation when the pressure measured by the pressure sensor is less than the predetermined threshold.
FUNNELED T-CONNECTOR WITH NEBULIZER FOR USE WITH A POSITIVE PRESSURE VENTILATOR
An apparatus for applying positive pressure nebulized liquid to a patient includes a funneled T-connector having a funnel with a first opening of a first diameter, a second opening of a second diameter smaller than the first diameter, and a funnel wall extending between the first and second openings. The funneled T-connector further has a cylindrical nebulizer port that extends outwardly from the funnel wall. A nebulizer cup assembly includes a nebulizer cup to contain liquid and a nebulizer cap to removably attach to a top region of the nebulizer cup. The nebulizer cap has a cylindrical nebulizer outlet sized to removably attach to the cylindrical nebulizer port. The cylindrical nebulizer outlet extends upwardly through the nebulizer passage, beyond the cylindrical nebulizer port, and into the internal funnel space such that a top edge of the cylindrical nebulizer outlet is located within the internal funnel space.

System for assisting breathing and a patient set therefor
A system for supporting pulmonary gas exchange in patients and for coupling to a ventilating system or for use in the case of non-ventilated patients, which has a flexible hose introducible into the trachea of a patient, a pump unit, a reservoir unit and a controller such that via the flexible hose and by means of the pump unit it is possible to regulate aspiration, especially end-expiratory aspiration, and recirculation, especially end-inspiratory recirculation, of the aspirated gas. In order that the system can be operated independently of a ventilating system, the system has a sensor.

Tapered compressible bite block
There is provided an apparatus and method of inhibiting compression of a flexible tube of an intubated patient using a bite block. The body including at least one resiliently deformable sealed chamber and a tube engaging portion for abutment with said flexible tube, the body being constructed from a resiliently compressible material and comprising a first tapered end, an opposite second end and a mid-region intermediate thereof, wherein said at least one resiliently deformable sealed chamber extending through or into said mid-region. Wherein as the bite force of a patient increases the body is firstly compressed and then the at least one sealed chamber is at least partly deformed, to thereby inhibit damage to said teeth while inhibiting compression of said flexible tube.
Intubation system
An intubation system includes a measurement apparatus that measures physiological parameter of a subject by a measuring section, an intubation apparatus that includes an imaging section placed in a vicinity of a tip end portion of an inserting section to be inserted from a mouth of the subject toward a target site, an intubation displaying section that is disposed integrally with or separately from the intubation apparatus and is connected to the imaging section and the measuring section to display an in vivo image that is taken by the imaging section along with the physiological parameter that is measured by the measuring section, and an overall storage section that stores the in vivo image and physiological parameter that are displayed on the intubation displaying section, in an associated manner.
