The minimum and/or maximum pressures can also change as a function of the presence, absence, type, severity, or length of sleep disordered breathing events (SDBE) detected by the device over the course of the current therapy session and/or over the course of prior therapy sessions.

The device is capable of exerting negative pressure on the surface of a subject's neck, displacing the soft tissue forward and enlarging the airway.

Intubation Protective Enclosure and Method of Use and Disinfecting

The current invention provides an enclosure that can be placed over a patient in order to contain bodily fluids. The device includes a clear plastic sheet that fits snugly over a frame. The sides of the device contain access ports for physicians or their instruments to enter the patient’s area. These ports may be holes or hanging strips of sheet that overlap so that they form a sufficient seal while also allowing easy access to the patient when pushed aside. The bottoms of the sheet may contain weights to hold the sheet down. There is the possibility of including filters or positive/negative air flow ports. The entire device may be disposable. The frame may be solid, or the frame may pop open like an enclosure or umbrella. The device may also have straps that can be tightened underneath the bed or stretcher to secure the entire device in place.

A respiratory interface, such as a mouthpiece, having a vestibular shield overlapping a user's teeth and gums, a gases passageway extending through the vestibular shield allowing for the passage of the gases through mouthpiece and an extra oral seal associated with the gases passageway, wherein the passageway in use causes gases to be diffused when exiting from the gases passageway. Mouthpiece may have an adjustment mechanism to alter distance between the vestibular shield and the extra-oral seal. The interface may include an elbow having a vent.

Associated control circuitry includes a pressure sensor disposable in fluid communication with the pressure chamber and the retaining cuff, via the fluid communicating connection and structured to concurrently determine and monitor pressure within the pressure chamber and the retaining cuff. The control circuitry is cooperatively structured with the pressure sensor and other operative components to establish dynamic multilevel sampling capabilities, calibration parameters stored within the control circuitry prior to use and limited or single use capabilities of the assembly.
