Molten-resin extrusion device and extrusion method as well as molten resin molding machine and molding method
Provided is a method for extruding molten resin in a charging space from a head by converting a rotational motion of an electric motor into a linear motion of a piston disposed in the charging space through a ball screw and thus causing the piston to move vertically, the charging space being a space into which the molten resin can be charged and formed in an accumulator, the head having an extrusion port at a lower end thereof. The method includes a step of separating an upper plate from a lower plate and retracting the upper plate upward by a rotational motion of the electric motor and then charging the molten resin into the charging space with a sufficient charging pressure to push up the piston against weights of the lower plate and the piston in the charging space, the lower plate being disposed over the accumulator and coupled to the piston from above, the upper plate being engaged with the electric motor through a screwing relationship and disposed over the lower plate so as to be able to surface-contact the lower plate and a step of extruding the molten resin from the extrusion port by moving the upper plate downward with the upper plate and the lower plate surface-contacting each other by a rotational motion of the electric motor and thus moving the piston downward in the charging space.
Transmission gear system of multi-screw extruder or kneader
It is possible to provide a transmission gear system of a multi-screw extruder or kneader, distributedly receiving loads applied on driven shafts without complicating the device configuration. The transmission gear system of a multi-screw extruder or kneader having a plurality of screw shafts, includes a driving shaft to which a driving gear is fixed, rotationally driven by a driving device; a driven shaft to which a driven gear engaged with the driving gear is fixed, the driven shaft being coupled to the screw shaft so as to allow the screw shaft to be rotationally driven and a load distribution shaft disposed in a region opposite to the driving shaft with respect to the driven shaft. A radial load generated on the driven shaft is transmitted via the driven gear and the load distribution gear to the load distribution shaft to distribute the load.
Methods of Manufacturing High-Altitude Balloons
A method of fabricating a high-altitude balloon. The method includes coextruding at least two adjacent continuous layers of extrudate, extrusion-bonding the layers of extrudate to one another along an edge of the sheets of extrudate to form a seam, and cooling the extrudate.
Extruded and Co-extruded High-Altitude Balloons
A high altitude balloon. A plurality of layers of coextruded extrudate are formed in a seamless sheet in a shape that defines a balloon envelope. Delaminator layers may be interposed between two or more of the layers of extrudate.
Curbing machine with hopper dasher and eliptical compaction
A concrete curb forming and extruding apparatus with wheel adjustment locks, and an adjustable slip form system shaping cementitious material into a continuous curb forced there through by an extruder which receives materials stored in a hopper with dasher. The extruder has a rotary trowel compacting member which continually forces material from the hopper into compressed concrete passing through an adjustable slip form to fill the same and form differing shaped continuous curbing underneath fences or against vertical surfaces or conventional curbing, depending upon the slip form setting.
Extruded and co-extruded high-altitude balloons and methods and apparatus for manufacture
Co-extruded and extruded high-altitude balloons and apparatus and methods for manufacture. A high-altitude balloon has a plurality of layers of coextruded balloon panel extrudate, a first one of the layers extrusion-bonded to a second one of the layers along a first edge, the second one of the layers extrusion-bonded to a third one of the layers along a strip spaced apart from the first edge, extrusion-bonding of successive layers alternating between the first edge and the strip, the first one of the layers and the last one of the layers extrusion-bonded together along a second edge.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A CONSTANT PRESSURE FILAMENT DRIVER TO AN EXTRUDER HEAD IN A THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECT PRINTER
A method of operating an additive manufacturing system feeds solid extrusion material into a heater using a slip clutch coupled to an actuator of a mechanical driver to supply thermoplastic material into a manifold in an extruder head. The method sets a speed of the actuator so the actuator operates at a rotational speed that is slightly greater than the rotational speed of the mechanical mover. This method helps maintain the pressure of the thermoplastic material in the manifold of the extruder head in a predetermined range no matter how many nozzles are opened in the extruder head.
Constant pressure filament driver for extruder heads in three-dimensional object printers
An additive manufacturing system includes a slip clutch coupled to an actuator of a mechanical driver that feeds solid extrusion material into a heater for supplying thermoplastic material to a manifold in an extruder head. A speed of the actuator can be set to enable the actuator to operate at a rotational speed that is slightly greater than the rotational speed of the mechanical mover. This configuration enables the pressure of the thermoplastic material in the manifold of the extruder head to be in a predetermined range no matter how many nozzles are opened in the extruder head.
Gear box with variably coupled oscillation and rotation for kneading machine
A gear box for a reciprocating kneader. A primary rotational gear is attached to a gear box primary shaft and rotates in concert therewith. A secondary rotational gear is engaged with the primary rotation gear and rotates therewith. A secondary shaft is attached to the secondary rotational gear and rotates therewith. A primary oscillation gear is attached to the gear box primary shaft and rotates therewith. A secondary oscillation gear is rotationally engaged with the primary oscillation gear and rotates on the secondary shaft. An eccentric is coupled to the secondary oscillation gear and rotates in concert therewith. A yoke is engaged with the eccentric and oscillates on an axis perpendicular to the secondary shaft in response to the lobe. The gearbox secondary shaft moves along its axis in concert with yoke oscillation. A housing is pivotally attached to the yoke and pivotally attached to a casing at a casing.
