Method of operating extruder heads in three-dimensional object printers
An apparatus changes the temperature of thermoplastic material in an extruder head to reduce the time for producing an object. The apparatus includes a cooling device located near the one or more nozzles of the extruder head to change the temperature of the thermoplastic material extruded by the extruder head. The apparatus cools the thermoplastic material to enhance the formation of exterior object features. A heater can also be positioned near the nozzle zone to heat the thermoplastic material to reduce the time for raising the viscosity of the thermoplastic material for forming interior regions of the object.
Door with plastic-wood co-extruded skeleton and processing method thereof
The present disclosure relates to the technical field of door processing, and in particular to a door with a plastic-wood co-extruded skeleton and a processing method thereof. The door includes a door skeleton, including four multilayer boards; where the four multilayer boards form a rectangular frame structure; an outer surface of each multilayer board is wrapped with a PVC wrapping layer, and an outer side of the PVC wrapping layer is attached to an SMC door skin; a PU filling foam is filled between an outer periphery of the door skeleton and a wall structure outside the door skeleton.
PTFE Extrusion
A PTFE preform, a PTFE preform forming tool and PTFE extruder and associated methods. PTFE preforms comprise a shape and configuration to facilitate compression and axial advancement within extruder apparatus to provide a resultant exudate that is devoid of internal interfacial surfaces or transitions. The present preforms, apparatus and methods are advantageous to reduce PTFE waste during PTFE manufacturing processes.
Buffer system and method for buffering a length of a strip between an input side and an output side, and related computer program product
Disclosed is a buffer system for buffering a length of a strip, wherein the buffer system includes a buffer member, a buffer drive and a control unit, wherein the control unit is configured for receiving control data having information indicative of an input amount of the strip at the input side and information indicative of an output amount of the strip at the output side, and for generating, based on said control data, a computed value indicative of a theoretical length of the strip in the buffer system between the input side and the output side, wherein the control unit is further configured for positioning the buffer member at a buffer position based on the computed value. The disclosure also provides a method for buffering a length of a strip, and a computer program product.
Reconfigurable Nozzle for Material Deposition
An extruder for depositing a material includes an extruder body including an extruder drive system and defining a body axis, and an extruder nozzle. The extruder nozzle includes a nozzle tip defining an exit orifice, a reconfigurable arm defining a material path in fluid communication with the exit orifice, the reconfigurable arm including a proximal end coupled to the extruder body and coaxial with the body axis, and a distal end coupled to the nozzle tip, and a plurality of actuators operatively associated with the reconfigurable arm and configured to move the reconfigurable arm between an initial configuration, in which the distal end of the reconfigurable arm is coaxial with the body axis, to a displaced configuration. In the displaced configuration, the distal end of the reconfigurable arm is at least one of positioned offset from the body axis and oriented at an angle relative to the body axis.
Extruder including an improved homogenising member and method for extruding a viscous material
An Extruder for shaping a viscous material such as a blend of rubber is disclosed herein. The extruder includes a screw rotationally driven about an axis (XX) in a barrel and bearing one or more helical flights extending radially outwards from a central shaft of the screw, the extruder comprising a material homogenization zone (H) through which a screw portion comprising interrupted flight elements forming empty annular spaces extends axially, and a barrel portion delimiting the said homogenization zone bearing flight elements extending radially inwards into the said empty annular spaces. According to the disclosure, the barrel portion delimiting the homogenization zone is itself rotationally driven about the axis XX to form a rotary barrel.
Polymer composition, molded article, and method of manufacturing the molded article
An eco-friendly fire-retardant polymer composition, a molded article made from the composition, and a method of manufacturing the molded article. The composition includes: a thermoplastic resin containing polycarbonate; a bio-based resin containing polytrimethylene terephthalate extracted from a biomaterial; and an impact modifier containing a core-shell type elastomer.
Gearbox assembly for a twin-screw extruder, treatment installation for material treatment comprising a gearbox assembly of this type, and method for the startup of a treatment installation comprising a gearbox assembly of this type
A gearbox assembly for a twin-screw extruder comprises a speed change gearbox for adjusting a screw shaft speed of two screw shafts of the twin-screw extruder, a distribution gearbox allowing the screw shafts to be coupled thereto, and a speed reduction gearbox. The speed change gearbox and the speed reduction gearbox are configured such as to be separable from each other, wherein the speed change gearbox is arranged at a driving end while the speed reduction gearbox couples the speed change gearbox to the distribution gearbox. Due to the fact that the speed change gearbox is configured as an individual gearbox unit arranged at the driving end, an adjustment of the screw shaft speed is easily possible by replacing the speed change gearbox. As a result, a high flexibility and productivity are obtained in the operation of the twin-screw extruder.
