Method of manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament
In particular embodiments, a process for producing bulked continuous carpet filament from recycled polymer utilizes two vacuum pumps (140A, 140B) in combination with a single extruder (100). In various embodiments, the dual vacuum arrangement (e.g., at least two vacuum pumps (140A, 140B)) operably coupled to the single extruder (e.g., MRS extruder (100)) may be configured to remove one or more impurities from recycled polymer as the recycled polymer passes through the extruder.
Facility for forming one of graphene-polymer resin composite and carbon material-polymer resin composite
The present disclosure relates to a facility for forming one of a graphene-polymer resin composite and a carbon material-polymer resin composite. According to the facility of the present disclosure, in a process of forming the composite, gas and water vapor contained in graphene, a carbon material, and a polymer resin are effectively removed resulting in an increase in coupling force between the polymer resin and one of the graphene and the carbon material, and the graphene and the carbon material is uniformly dispersed inside the polymer resin resulting in no degradation of physical properties of the composite, and also, the polymer resin may be prevented from carbonizing and solidifying because there is no stagnant section while molten liquid of the polymer resin and one of the graphene and the carbon material passes through each apparatus in the facility, and thus, physical properties of the composite are maintained constant.
Method for preparing for a change of material in an extrusion device for a film machine
The above object is solved by means of a method comprising the features as described herein as well as an extrusion device comprising the features as described herein. Further features and details of the invention follow from the depending claims, the description and the drawings. It goes without saying that features and details, which are described in connection with the method according to the invention, shall thereby also apply in connection with the extrusion device according to the invention and in each case vice versa, so that, with regard to the disclosure, reference is or can always be mutually made, respectively, to the individual invention aspects.
EXTRUDER COMPRISING A PARTICULAR ARRANGEMENT OF ASYMMETRICAL SCREW ELEMENTS ON SCREW SHAFTS
The present invention relates to a multishaft extruder having screw shafts that rotate in the same sense and at the same speed, wherein these screw shafts each have at least one region having a special arrangement of screw elements, wherein the screw elements have an asymmetrical cross-sectional screw profile. In this case, these in each case at least one regions are situated directly opposite on directly adjacent screw shafts. The present invention also provides for the use of the extruder of the invention for processing or production of plastic or viscoelastic masses.
Filter for plastic material
What is presented is a filter for plastic material, in particular a device that filters recycled plastic material, to clean it of extraneous bodies and foreign elements by means of several filtration units within a single body.
Method for changing the material in an extrusion device
The present invention relates to a method for changing material in an extrusion device comprising at least two supply devices for supplying feedstock for an extruder, comprising the following steps: identifying a change request for changing material in an extrusion device, predetermining a production stability for a time after the material of at least one supply device has been changed, comparing the predetermined production stability to a threshold value of stability, changing the material in at least one supply device depending on the result of comparison.
METHOD OF PROCESSING SOLID POLYMER PARTICLES OF A POLYCONDENSATE BY MEANS OF A MULTI-ROTATION SYSTEM
A method of processing solid polymer particles of a poly condensate by a multi-rotation system. Polymer particles are melted in a first extruder section having an extruder screw that rotates. The partly molten polymer mass containing between 5% by volume and 50% by volume of unmolten polymer particles is passed into a second extruder section with a poly-rotation unit and multiple satellite screws that rotate therein. A diameter of the poly-rotation unit is increased compared to the screw diameter of the first extruder section and a transition cone is formed between the extruder sections and a conical gap is formed with respect to the housing. Ambient pressure plastification of the remaining polymer particles is performed by passage through a drive zone. The polymer mass is guided completely molten in the drive zone onward through a venting zone under reduced pressure.
Extrusion orifice cleaning
Described is a self-cleaning extrusion orifice assembly including an enclosure, a cylindrical body inserted into the enclosure and terminated by an extrusion orifice. The self-cleaning extrusion orifice assembly is operated by a pressurized air flow. The pressurized air flow flushes surfaces of some elements of self-cleaning extrusion orifice assembly removing debris that could be deposited on these surfaces. In addition, some elements of self-cleaning extrusion orifice assembly are configured to scrape extrusion process debris from the same surfaces.
COMPOSITION COMPRISING A HIGHLY SUBSTITUTED HYDROXYPROPYL METHYLCELLULOSE AND A SUGAR ALCOHOL
A composition comprises a mixture of a hydroxypropyl methylcellulose having a DS of from 1.0 to 2.7 and an MS of from 0.40 to 1.30, wherein the sum of the DS and MS is from 1.8 to 3.6, and wherein DS is the degree of substitution of methoxyl groups and MS is the molar substitution of hydroxypropoxyl groups, and a sugar alcohol in a weight ratio of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose to sugar alcohol of from 98:2 to 85:15. The composition may for instance be used to purge extrusion equipment.
