PIPE WITH AN OUTER WRAP
This disclosure relates generally to corrugated pipe, and more particularly to corrugated pipe with an outer wrap. In one embodiment, a pipe includes an axially extended bore defined by a corrugated outer wall having axially adjacent, outwardly-extending corrugation crests, separated by corrugation valleys. The pipe also includes an outer wrap applied to the outer wall. The outer wrap may include fibers and plastic. The outer wrap may span the corrugation crests producing a smooth outer surface.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A FOOD PRODUCT
A raw material mixture is supplied to an extrusion machine by a moved supply unit in a particularly uniform manner. The raw material mixture has a fiber raw material and a carrier raw material. The fiber raw material has a process by-product of a food manufacturing process and the carrier raw material has whole-grain components. A raw material quantity is supplied by the supply unit along a trajectory through the supply opening into the production machine. The trajectory of the raw material quantity is changeable. The supply unit has at least one actuating unit, by which an actuating movement of the supply channel portion and/or of the feed hopper can be generated, so that the supply channel portion can be caused to displace relative to the feed hopper.
SYSTEM FOR PROCESSING OF LOW VISCOSITY POLYMERS
Disclosed herein is a system comprising a first pump; a pelletization system that comprises an underwater pelletizer; where the pelletization system is located downstream of the first pump and is in fluid communication with it; a direct line that is located downstream of the first pump and upstream of the pelletization system; where the direct line does not contain a pump or a heat exchanger; and a bypass line that is located downstream of the first pump and upstream of the pelletization system; where the bypass line comprises a second pump; where the first pump is operative to discharge the polymer to the pelletization system via the direct line when the polymer has a melt viscosity greater than 10.sup.5 centipoise; and where the first pump is operative to discharge the polymer to the pelletization system via the bypass line when the polymer has a melt viscosity less than 10.sup.5 centipoise.
POLYMER INJECTION SYSTEM COMPRISING MULTIPLE PUMPS AND METHODS OF USING SAME
An injection system for injecting additive into a polymer transfer line is disclosed. The injection system can include an extruder having an inlet and an outlet. The injection system can further include a melt pump subsystem comprising at least a first melt pump and a second melt pump. Each melt pump of the first and second melt pumps can have an inlet and an outlet. The inlet of each of the first and second melt pumps can be in fluid communication with the outlet of the extruder. The first and second melt pumps can be arranged in parallel so that flow from the outlet of the extruder divides between the first melt pump and the second melt pump. The outlet of each of the first and second melt pumps can be in fluid communication with a polymer transfer line.
Systems, Apparatus, and Methods for Creating Thin Plastic Films
A multi-layer film comprising, an outer two layers of the multi-layer film comprising a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) butene resin, a next two inwardly successive layers of the multi-layer film comprising a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) hexene resin, wherein at least one of the next two inwardly successive layers comprises one or more recycled resin components, wherein at least one of the one or more recycled resin components are filtered using continuous filtration, a core layer of the multi-layer film comprising a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) hexene resin, and at least one edge of the multi-layer film comprising a folded edge.
CONTINUOUS EXTRUDER PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING RHEOLOGY-MODIFIED POLYOLEFIN FOR CABLE INSULATION LAYER
Rheology-modified, additive-containing ethylenic polymer compositions are prepared in a continuously operated extruder comprising first, second and third zones by a process comprising the steps of: mixing in the second zone of the extruder an ethylenic polymer and a high-temperature decomposing peroxide at a temperature such that the half-life of the peroxide is equal to or greater than (≥) one minute and for a sufficient period of time to modify the rheology of the ethylenic polymer to produce a rheology-modified, melted ethylenic polymer for transfer to the third zone of the extruder; and adding to the third zone one or more additives to the rheology-modified, melted ethylenic polymer to produce the rheology-modified, additive-containing ethylenic polymer.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING BIODEGRADABLE, COMPOSTABLE, DRINK STRAWS FROM POLYHYDROXYALKANOATE MATERIAL
Apparatus and methods for manufacturing compostable, biodegradable drink straws from polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) material are disclosed herein. Such apparatus may include a hopper that contains raw PHA material, an extruder that receives the raw PHA material from the hopper and produces extruded PHA material, one or more waters baths that cool the extruded PHA material, a puller that pulls a tubular stream of PHA material through the system, and a cutter that is configured to cut the stream of PHA material into finished straws. The finished straws may be soil- and marine-biodegradable, as well as home- and industrial-compostable.
Extrusion Equipment
Present invention is related to an extrusion equipment for processing a fibre composite. The extrusion equipment comprises a decompression and a melt tank arranged and operated vertically along with the direction of gravity. The melt tank comprises a melt tank impregnation section and a melt tank control section with a melt tank cavity as a channel condition defined within. The channel has its inner diameter or passage gradually decreased from top to bottom. The extrusion equipment provided by the present invention is configured in the direction of gravity for processing the melted thermoplastic resin and the fibre vertically for avoiding fibre fracture or breakage and improving the quality of the final products. As the melted plastic is processed vertically along with the gravity, the melted plastic could transfer or pass through the channel quickly without resulting decomposition due to the high heat and the long retention time in the cavity.
