Process, apparatus and system for creating extruded material having color effects and products made with extruded material created with same
A process and associated system for creating color effects using extrudable material, such as plastic and metal for example, are presented. Flows of first and second viscous materials of respective colors are provided and then combined in a predetermined pattern to form a stream of combined viscous material. A dynamic mixer is the then used to apply a predetermined dividing, overturning and combining motion to the stream of combined viscous material to partially mix the first viscous material and the second viscous material, such that upon exiting the dynamic mixer, the first material of the first color and the second material of the second color form a color pattern in the stream of combined viscous material. The dynamic mixer has elements configured for acquiring a specific radial orientation in a range of radial orientations that may be varied during the application of the dividing, overturning and combining motion to the stream of combined viscous material to cause variations in the color pattern in the stream of combined viscous material. Sheets of extruded material may be created using such process and system and used in the manufacturing of many different products including, but not limited to, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, garden furniture and many others. In some embodiments, the sheets may be characterized by color bands extending diagonally with reference to a longitudinal extent of the sheet.

Seal with rat resistant barrier
A flexible and oblong blade seal for sealing a gap between a door leaf and an adjacent surface includes A) a flexible outer material and B) a section with the sealing function (the sealing section), in which a barrier of a plurality of substantially parallel metal wires and/or narrow metal strips is embedded in the flexible outer material in such a way, that the wires and/or strips are arranged in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the seal. A method for mounting such seals and a method for producing them.
Concrete dowel placement system and method of making the same
A concrete dowel placement system and methods for making the same. The system allows for accurate and easy substantially-parallel or parallel placement of slip dowels within sections of concrete so that adjacent sections of concrete may be allowed to undergo thermal expansion and contraction while remaining in a common plane without cracking or faulting. The system includes a coupler and a sheath. The sheath is configured to be slidably extensible over the coupler and may be held to the coupler by friction. An outer surface of the sheath may be textured. Additionally, a method of constructing the concrete dowel placement system includes extruding material to form two tubes of different sizes. The tubes are then attached to each other, then material is extruded or injection molded to form a sheath. Alternatively, construction may include extruding material to form a tube, then removing some of the material from the tube in order to form a coupler.

APPLICATOR ROLL, TIRE COMPONENT SERVICER AND METHOD FOR APPLYING A STRIP TO A DRUM
An applicator roll, a tire component servicer, and a method for applying a strip to a drum are provided. The applicator roll includes an outer ring that is rotatable about a rotation axis and that defines a retaining surface. The applicator roll is provided with suction openings for retaining the strip to the retaining surface. The applicator roll includes a follower that is rotatable inside the outer ring to follow a part of the strip on the retaining surface. The follower defines a chamber that extends in the circumferential direction over a retaining arc along the outer ring. The follower is rotatable about the rotation axis independently of the outer ring to a first retaining position on the outer ring in which the chamber is arranged in air communication with one or more suction openings within said retaining arc.

HONEYCOMB EXTRUSION DIES AND FORMING METHODS
A honeycomb extrusion die (120) includes a die body (342) including an inlet face (315) and an outlet face (341). A plurality of pins (330) extend from the die body (342), wherein the pins (330) are arranged to define primary (312P) and secondary slots (312S). Primary slots (312P) include primary slot inlets (320P) and primary slot outlets (3120) and the secondary slots (312S) include secondary slot inlets (312SI) and secondary slot outlets (312SO). Feedholes (317) extend within the die body (342), the feedholes (317) including feedhole outlets (319), wherein the feedhole outlets (319) intersect only with the primary slot inlets (320P). First surface indentation features (345) extend into side surfaces (332) of the plurality of pins (330) defining the primary slots (312P). The first surface indentation features (345) are spaced from the primary slot outlets (3120). The secondary slots (312S) are devoid of surface indentation features. Other die bodies, extruders, and methods are disclosed.
