NOZZLE FOR BLOW-MOLDING STEPPED FINISH PREFORM
A nozzle for a blow-molding process includes a first sealing portion and a second seating portion. A transition portion is positioned between the first sealing portion and the second sealing portion. The nozzle is configured such that upon engagement with a container preform having a longitudinal axis, the second sealing portion is positioned along the longitudinal axis at a different location than the first sealing portion.
Injection Stretch Blow-Molding (ISBM) Enhancement for Semi-Crystalline Polyolefin Containers Utilizing Alicyclic Polyolefins
An injection stretch blow-molded (ISBM) container prepared by way of injection molding a tubular preform followed by reheating and concurrently stretching and blow-molding the heated preform into the container. The container and preform comprise from 70 wt. % to 97.5 wt. % of a semi-crystalline polyolefin composition comprising one or polymers selected from polyethylene polymers and polypropylene polymers and from 2.5 wt. % to 30 wt. % of an alicyclic polyolefin composition, wherein the alicyclic polyolefin composition has a glass transition temperature, Tg, of from 80° to 145° C.
Continuous blow moulding machine, preforms, system and process
A continuously rotating, non-symmetric preform feed, stretch-blow-moulding machine dedicated to the stretch-blow-moulding of containers from non-symmetric injection moulded preforms; the non-symmetric preforms including an integral handle extending from a first junction point to a second junction point on a body of the preform; the body of the preform and the integral handle constituted from the same material.
METHOD FOR BLOW MOLDING CONTAINERS
A method for blow molding a container includes heating a central region of a preformed puck to a first temperature, and heating an annular region surrounding the central region of the preformed puck to a second temperature that is greater than the first temperature. The heated preformed puck is arranged at an upper end of a mold cavity of a mold that defines an outer shape of the container. The heated preformed puck is secured to the upper end of the mold cavity. The heated reformed puck is stretched by pressing a plunger into the heated preformed puck and into the mold cavity in a longitudinal direction of the mold cavity toward a lower end of the mold cavity. Pressurized air is then applied to the mold cavity so that the heated preformed puck stretches to conform to the shape of the inner wall of the mold cavity.
BOTTLES AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
A bottle configured to house and dispense items. The bottle comprises a body, a finish positioned above the body, and a ramp protruding into an interior space defined by the body. The body includes a base and a sidewall extending up from the base. The body defines the interior space for housing the items. The finish presents an opening for dispensing the items from the body. The ramp is formed with a concave shape configured to support one or more of the items.
Preforms and method for producing preforms
The invention relates to a preform for producing a plastic container in a 2-stage stretch blow molding method, said preform having a preform body that extends along a central axis and that comprises: a first end a second end that lies opposite the first end, wherein the first end is closed and a neck part with a pouring opening adjoins the second end; and an inner wall that delimits an interior of the preform. Along a length of at least 30 mm of the interior, every point of the inner wall is at a distance of less than 3.5 mm from the central axis. Also disclosed are a suitable method and a device for producing such a preform.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING CONTAINERS FROM PREFORMS
A method and a device for producing containers formed by pneumatic or hydraulic pressure (i.e. blowing pressure or the pressure of a fluid to be filled) from preforms with a blow mold are provided. The blow mold has a bottom mold with an axially displaceable bottom die, wherein for exerting a counterforce on the bottom die is configured to bias the bottom die into an extended position being arranged in the interior of the blow mold and being extended from the bottom mold, wherein the stretching rod is configured to displace the bottom die against the counterforce into a retracted position substantially being arranged in the bottom mold. The counterforce clamps the preform stretched by the stretching rod between the tip of the stretching rod and the bottom die so that the container being formed is always kept centered.
A METHOD OF MOLDING A CONTAINER INCORPORATING SURFACE INDICIA AND THE CONTAINER
A method of forming a container (1) and a container (1) formed thereby. A preform (2), having a generally cylindrical body (60, 8) extending between a closed end (12) and an open mouth, is placed within a mold (20, 22) having surfaces corresponding in shape to the desired container (1). An incompressible medium, which is the end product that remains in the molded container (1), is injected under pressure into the preform (2). Under the influence of the incompressible medium, the preform (2) is expanded into contact with the surfaces defining the cavity, simultaneously forming and filling the container (1). During expanding of the preform (2), portions of the plastic material are forced into a series of recesses (72) defined in the cavity surface (82, 85). With the incompressible medium contained therein, the container (1) is removed from the mold (20, 22) and including a series of raised dots corresponding to the series of recesses (72) defined in the cavity surface (82, 85). Plural nested preform assembly and method of manufacture
A plural preform assembly having nested preforms. The preforms are held together by an interference fit. The interference fit is provided by the friction between the preforms which occurs when the inner preform is inserted into the outer preform. At least one preform may have ribs extending radially towards the other preform. The ribs provided concentricity and interference to hold the preforms together during subsequent operations. The preforms may later be blow molded to provide a bag in bottle or similar container.
