The balloon (306) is positioned proximate to the distal end (308) of the catheter (304) and has a deflated state and an inflated state. The catheter (304) further includes a plurality of ports (314) proximate to a proximal end of the balloon (306). Each port (314) extends through a wall of the catheter (304) such that surface (316) of the catheter (304) is in fluid communication with the lumen (318) of the catheter (304). A flow restrictor (324) is positioned within, and is in sliding relation with, the lumen (318) of the catheter (304). Movement of the flow restrictor (324) is configured to close one or more ports (314) of the plurality so as to limit blood flow through the lumen (318) of the catheter (304).
CATHETER, GUIDE WIRE, OPENING POSITION IDENTIFICATION DEVICE, OPENING POSITION IDENTIFICATION METHOD, INTERNAL OBJECT PRESENCE DETERMINATION ASSISTANCE DEVICE, DIAGNOSTIC ASSISTANCE DEVICE, AND TREATMENT ASSISTANCE DEVICE
A catheter, a guide wire, an opening position identification device, an opening position identification method, an internal object presence determination assistance device, a diagnostic assistance device, and a treatment assistance device that can easily identify the position of an opening of the catheter in a body are provided. A guide wire 20 is inserted into a catheter 30 having openings for introducing a fluid substance into the body, or for sucking the fluid substance in the body. One or more light sources 10 for identifying the positions of openings 32 of the catheter 30 are provided. The catheter 30 may be provided with one or more light sources 10 for identifying the positions of the openings 32 of the catheter 30.
Balloon dilation catheter system for treatment and irrigation of the sinuses
A medical device for the treatment and irrigation of a sinus opening is described. The device allows for single-handed operation to access, dilate and irrigate a sinus opening. The device includes a sinus guide catheter, a guiding element, a balloon dilation catheter, a balloon catheter movement mechanism and a guiding element movement mechanism. A method for treating a sinus opening and irrigating a sinus is also described.
Set for peripheral nerve blocking
A set for peripheral nerve blocking, including a rigid cannula, an outer catheter sleeve which can be slid over the cannula, where the distal tip of the cannula protrudes over the distal end of the catheter sleeve, an inner catheter which can be inserted through the catheter sleeve after removal of the cannula from the catheter sleeve and which has an outlet opening at the distal end, and a first connector piece at the proximal end of the catheter sleeve, where the inner catheter has a second connector piece complementary to the first connector piece, and the inner catheter can be fixed in an axial position by connecting the first connector piece and the second connector piece in the catheter sleeve, in which axial position the distal end of the inner catheter protrudes from the distal end of the catheter sleeve with a pre-defined length which has the outlet opening.
Balloon catheter
A balloon catheter having an elongated catheter shaft defining a fluid drainage lumen and a balloon inflation lumen. The balloon catheter includes a fluid drainage port disposed about the distal end of the catheter shaft in fluid communication with the fluid drainage lumen, and a balloon inflation port disposed about the distal end of the catheter shaft in fluid communication with the balloon inflation lumen. A balloon portion is disposed about the distal end of the catheter shaft in fluid communication with the balloon inflation port. A release device is disposed in fluid communication with the balloon portion and the fluid drainage lumen, and includes an activating member. A tether is attached to the activating member of the release device. Tension applied to the tether activates the release device, enabling fluid flow from the balloon portion into the fluid drainage lumen and out of the body.
Guide wire for medical devices, method of using the guidewire, and method for forming a covering on the guidewire
A method for measuring a distance in a body vessel and introducing an implant into the body vessel, the method comprising: providing a guide wire, wherein the guide wire comprises a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the distal end comprises a spiral which has at least two adjoining spiral sections as markings, wherein at least a surface of one spiral section comprises a first material and at least a surface of the second spiral section comprises a second material, and further wherein the first material is different than the second material; inserting the guide wire into the body vessel; measuring the distance in the body vessel using the markings on the guide wire; and delivering the implant over the guide wire to the body vessel.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CATHETER AND CATHETER MANUFACTURED BY THIS MANUFACTURING METHOD
A catheter includes an elongated shaft extending in a longitudinal direction and possessing an outer surface, the shaft possessing a distal end, a proximal end and a proximal portion which includes the proximal end, a transverse direction being perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, the elongated shaft being an elongated tubular body having a lumen formed therein, and a tubular hub fixed by insert molding to the outer surface of the shaft along the proximal portion of the shaft. The hub possesses a residual stress at one predetermined location of the hub that exceeds the residual stress of the hub at each of: (i) a first position distal to the one predetermined location, (ii) a second position proximal to the one predetermined location, and (iii) a third position being at the one predetermined location in the longitudinal direction and spaced apart from the one predetermined location in the transverse direction.
