Systems and methods for thermoforming thermoplastic structures
A system for forming a thermoplastic may comprise a mandrel configured to receive a thermoplastic charge. The mandrel may rotate about a mandrel axis. A series of rollers may be located circumferentially about the mandrel and configured to apply radially inward pressure. A heating element may be located upstream of the series of rollers.
COMPOSITE PANEL HAVING IMPROVED VIBRATION CHARACTERISTICS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Disclosed are a composite panel having improved vibration characteristics, and a method for manufacturing the same. The composite panel includes a hybrid layer formed at a neutral axis of the composite panel, the hybrid layer including a vibration damping layer and an intermediate material layer. The composite panel also includes structural material layers laminated on both surfaces of the hybrid layer and surface layers laminated on outer surfaces of the respective structural material layers to form outermost layers of the composite panel.
THERMOFORMING OF PLA-BASED ARTICLES
A method for producing a polylactic acid (PLA) shaped article by thermoforming and thermoformed PLA articles. The method for producing a shaped article includes: heating a sheet of crystallizable polylactic acid (PLA)-based resin having a ratio of cold crystallization over total melting enthalpy (ΔHcc/ΔHm) greater than 0.70 as determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), wherein heating includes a heating step the sheet is heated from a surface temperature of at most 80° C. to a surface temperature of at least 90° C. to at most 150° C. at heating rate of 5° C. to 25° C. per second, to provide heated sheet having a ratio of cold crystallization over total melting enthalpy (ΔHcc/ΔHm) greater than 0.5 as determined by DSC; and immediately after heating, forming heated sheet to provide a shaped article by means of a mold having a temperature of at least 70° C. and at most 120° C.
DISPLAY DEVICE AND DISPLAY DEVICE MANUFACTURING METHOD
A display device includes a display panel including a main display surface and a first sub-display surface that protrudes from one side of the main display surface, an adhesive layer disposed below the display panel, and a thermoforming film disposed below the adhesive layer, and the first sub-display surface may include a first top surface and a first side surface that defines a predetermined angle with the first top surface.
Three-dimensionally thermo-molded footwear
Articles of footwear including a thermo-molded upper having a skin composed of one or more low melting point thermoplastic polymers. The skin may include at least one of: a base layer composed of a low melting point thermoplastic polymer and a grid layer including a yarn composed of a low melting point thermoplastic polymer. The uppers may be formed by placing a skin and an inflatable bladder into a mold cavity and heating the mold to a predetermined temperature. The inflatable bladder may be inflated such that the skin is pressed against an interior surface of the heated mold cavity to cause the skin to take on the shape of the internal surface of the mold cavity, thereby forming an upper for an article of footwear.
FILM THERMOFORMING DEVICE OF BLISTER PACKAGING MACHINE
Provided is a film thermoforming device of a blister packaging machine in which molding can be carried out without extreme reduction in a sheet thickness of a top surface portion of a pocket, and without warpage, which allows stacking, and stable molding can be performed at a high rate. This film thermoforming device comprises a compressed air blowing mechanism that is disposed at a forming mold 5A and that has a compressed air blowing pore 53a which is open at an inner bottom portion of a pocket hole 52 of the forming mold 5A, and a compressed air blowing pore 53b which is open around the pocket hole 52 of the forming mold 5A.

Stand alone thermoforming separator film
Improved separator film compositions, methods and systems for use in producing thermoformed dental appliances are disclosed.
System and methods for thermoforming articles
Systems and processes for thermoforming an article and for preparing an article for thermoforming are disclosed. The system for thermoforming can include one or more heating stations and a cooling station. The system for thermoforming can further include an article movement mechanism that can couple to an article and rotate the article inside a heating chamber, inside a cooling chamber, or both. The system for preparing an article for thermoforming can include a vessel that comprises a port, and a negative pressure generation system coupled to the port. The system for preparing an article for thermoforming can further include a compression material that forms an interior portion for receiving an article. The negative pressure generation system can cause the compression material to expand to allow for insertion of the article into the interior portion of the compression material.
