Method and apparatus for producing reshaped plastic granules
An apparatus (10) for producing reshaped plastic granules from a plurality of initial granules (12) with a predetermined shape is disclosed comprising: a feeding unit (20) for continuously receiving a plurality of said initial granules (12), a pressing unit (30) for mechanically reshaping the initial granules, said pressing unit comprising at least two opposite pressing surfaces (32) with a gap (34) therebetween, the width (W) of said gap ranging from 0 mm to 0.5 mm, a receiving chamber (40) for receiving the reshaped final granules (13) from the pressing unit, and a frame (50) for supporting the feeding unit, the pressing unit and the receiving chamber. A method is also provided to produce final granules by mechanically reshaping the initial granule, each final granule having a certain surface-to-volume ratio and a primary thickness of at most 0.7 mm within substantially the entire volume of the final granules.
SMALL FOOTPRINT COILED TUBING APPARATUS
A coiled tubing conveyance apparatus includes a tubing injector and a guide roller frame having a coiled tubing reel attached thereto movably mounted on the tubing injector. The guide roller frame includes at least one guide roller to straighten a coiled tubing extended from the coiled tubing reel. A transverse motion apparatus is coupled to the tubing injector and the guide roller frame such that the guide roller frame is movable transversely with respect to a direction of motion of coiled tubing through the tubing injector.
SLEEVE FOR MEDICAL DEVICE ASSEMBLY
The present disclosure describes a medical device assembly comprising an expandable medical device wrapped with an improved constraining sleeve. The sleeve in accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure is thin walled and translucent, having reduced edge sharpness. The sleeve in accordance with the present disclosure exhibits resistance to ripping and delamination. Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods of making sheet material usable for constraining sleeves from flattened film tubes. Methods for making improved constraining sleeves and medical device assemblies that comprise an improved constraining sleeve are also disclosed herein.
Method for manufacturing structure and structure
Provided are a method for manufacturing a structural body and a structural body, the structural body formed of FRP and having a high degree of freedom in cross-sectional shape even at a low cost. The method for manufacturing a structural body includes a winding step of forming a cylindrical laminate body LM by winding a plurality of composite materials including reinforcing fibers and an uncured thermosetting resin around a hollow cylindrical core member CY; a compressing step of winding a tape or film around an outer circumference of the laminate body LM and compressing the same; a preheating step of heating the laminate body LM until a state prior to complete curing of the thermosetting resin; and a main heating step of arranging the laminate body LM around which the tape or film is wound and the cylindrical core member in a molding die and pressing the same to thereby heat the laminate body LM until the thermosetting resin is completely cured while deforming the cylindrical core member CY to a non-circular cross-sectional shape. Thereby, a structural body in which the cylindrical core member CY and the laminate body LM are integrated can be formed.
BALLOON WRAPPING APPARATUS
A balloon wrapping apparatus is disclosed by which a balloon can be accurately positioned and inserted in relation to a pleating section. The balloon wrapping apparatus for wrapping a balloon provided at a distal portion of an elongated shaft includes: a pleating section that forms the balloon with wing shapes; a folding section that folds the wing shapes formed in the balloon along a circumferential direction; a support base that supports a portion other than the distal portion of the shaft, and that makes the distal portion of the shaft insertable into the pleating section and the folding section; and a core metal member to be inserted in the shaft. The core metal member is inserted in the shaft from a distal end position of the balloon to at least the proximal side of a proximal end position of the balloon.

METHOD AND TOOLING FOR SHAPING A FAN CASING
A method of shaping the profile of a fan casing having an inside surface, the method including placing the casing around a surface of revolution of a drum of shaping tooling; interposing at least one bladder that is inflatable under the action of a fluid under pressure between a portion of the inside surface of the casing and the drum, the bladder extending over all or part of the surface of revolution of the drum; stoving the assembly including the casing, the tooling, and the at least one bladder at a predetermined temperature; and during the stoving, applying isostatic pressure via the at least one bladder so as to impart a cylindrical profile to the portion of the inside surface of the casing facing the at least one bladder.
System to repair deformations in elastomeric hoses
A system to repair a hose made from deformable material includes an elongated container for holding a liquid heated sufficiently for softening the hose. A heater can be positioned in the container. A plurality of restraining members can be positioned to retain the hose immersed in the liquid within the container. A gas supply is used to pressurize the hose prior to immersion, and a support is provided for holding the hose before and after immersion. A method includes filling an elongated container with a heated liquid and pressurizing the hose with a gas. The pressurized hose is immersed in the liquid and maintained immersed by retaining members to soften the hose. The hose is removed from the liquid, depressurized and allowed to cool.
TUBULAR BANDING APPLICATOR AND METHOD
An apparatus for applying a tubular band from a supply of flat tubular material to a container includes a flat film feed path and a cutter positioned for cutting tubular material traveling along the feed path. A former is positioned downstream of the cutter for opening the tubular material and includes a film passage with an inlet side and an outlet side. The flat film feed path enters the film passage and a cut segment of tubular material is opened within the film passage to create an opened tubular band. A pusher pushes the opened tubular band out of the outlet side of the former for container application. The pusher includes a film engaging portion that is aligned with and movable into and out of the film passage. The film engaging portion is offset from the flat film feed path to prevent interference with flat tubular film entering the passage.
