Spiral-welded polymer products with a cellular wall and thermoplastic profile for its production

The invention relates to production of long spiral-welded large polymer products, as required for pipelines production, chemical, oil and gas and petrochemical industries, agricultural complex and utility services. The object of the invention is to create variants of spiral-welded polymer product with a cellular wall, having the internal or external, or internal and external uniform smooth walls with little material consumption, weight and cost. It should allow making products on site due the use of a thin-walled, lightweight, flexible profile. The object is solved owing to fact that a long hollow thermoplastic profile is used in spiral-welded polymer products, wherein the cross-section of the profile has a form of a closed geometric figure with a convex part having essentially the semi-ring shape and flat part that are connected each other, forming the convex and flat parts of the external surface of the profile, respectively.

A balloon wrapping apparatus is disclosed by which a balloon can be accurately positioned and inserted in relation to a pleating section. The balloon wrapping apparatus for wrapping a balloon provided at a distal portion of an elongated shaft includes: a pleating section that forms the balloon with wing shapes; a folding section that folds the wing shapes formed in the balloon along a circumferential direction; a support base that supports a portion other than the distal portion of the shaft, and that makes the distal portion of the shaft insertable into the pleating section and the folding section; and a core metal member to be inserted in the shaft. The core metal member is inserted in the shaft from a distal end position of the balloon to at least the proximal side of a proximal end position of the balloon.

FILAMENT WINDING DEVICE

A filament winding device includes: a supporting unit that supports a mandrel on which a plurality of fiber bundles impregnated with a resin are wound, the supporting unit movable in the axial direction of the mandrel; and a helical unit having a plurality of fiber bundle guide units arranged radially in the circumferential direction of the mandrel and guide the corresponding plurality of fiber bundles to the mandrel, the helical unit supplying the plurality of fiber bundles to the mandrel through the fiber bundle guide units. Each of the fiber bundle guide units has a pressing roller for pressing a fiber bundle supplied to the mandrel, against the circumferential surface moving in the axial direction. The pressing roller can come into the contact with the circumferential surface of the mandrel and be rotationally driven about a roller axis extending in a roller axis direction perpendicular to the axial direction.

Fixture and method for use in a molding process

A preform-charge fixture creates a preform charge, which is a partially consolidated assemblage of preforms that can be efficiently transferred to a mold to create a finished part in a molding process, such as compression molding. In the illustrative embodiment, the preform-charge fixture includes peripheral cleats that are movable towards a central cleat to create a small gap therebetween that receives and constrains preforms in a desired position. The fixture also includes clamps, which are operable to engage an uppermost layer of preforms in the gap and apply a slight amount of downward pressure thereto to assure that the preforms are properly seated. The fixture also accommodates an energy source that heats the preforms so that, in conjunction with downforce applied by the clamps and/or gravity, the preforms can be tacked together, forming the preform charge.

BIAXIALLY STRETCHED POLYPROPYLENE FILM, METALLIZED FILM, METALLIZED FILM ROLL AND FILM CAPACITOR

A biaxially stretched polypropylene film which has a thickness of from 1.0 μm to 3.5 μm, a tensile fracture stress at 135° C. of 70 MPa or more in a first direction, and a difference between the tensile fracture stress at 125° C. in the first direction and the tensile fracture stress at 135° C. in the first direction of from 0 MPa to 15 MPa (inclusive).

Tapes

The invention relates to a tape, comprising at least one layer comprising a. endless fiber in an total amount of at least 40 volume % as compared to the total volume of the layer and b. a thermoplastic matrix comprising one or more polyamides containing one or more aliphatic monomeric units, c. and optionally heat stabilizer, flame retardant, colorant, lubricant, mold release agent, UV stabilizer, impact modifier, laser absorbing additive as well as combinations thereof; wherein the one or more polyamides have a CH2-ratio of at least 5.5 and less than 10, calculated by—identifying the number of different aliphatic monomeric units in the one or more polyamides; —determining the number of CH2 groups per aliphatic monomeric unit for each of these different aliphatic monomeric units; —calculating the sum of the so determined numbers of CH2 groups; —dividing said sum by the number of different aliphatic monomeric units in the one or more polyamides; taking into account only the aliphatic monomeric units present in the one or more polyamides in an amount of at least 10 wt % with respect to the total weight of the one or more polyamides. The invention also relates to a vessel prepared by employing these tapes.

DEVICE FOR COMPACTING A TUBULAR STRUCTURE, ASSOCIATED INSTALLATION AND METHOD

A compacter that includes a compacting roller assembly, borne by a support element. The roller assembly includes a straight central shaft, having a longitudinal axis, and a plurality of compacting rollers, mounted parallel to one another about the central shaft, each compacting roller having a peripheral surface rotating around the central shaft about a roller axis. The longitudinal axis of the central shaft is parallel to the central axis of the support element. Each roller axis is inclined by a nonzero incline angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the central shaft.

System and method for perforating paint-roller cover fabric

In an embodiment, a paint roller manufacturing system and method uses a fabric-coating applicator to apply a fabric adhesive onto a portion of a perforated paint roller cover fabric material having a plurality of perforations through which adhesive may flow, and into the plurality of perforations and into interstitial spaces of the fabric material, to yield a length of coated fabric. An inner strip and an outer strip are wound about a mandrel in offset relation. A strip-coating applicator is used to apply a strip adhesive to the outer strip as it is wound about the mandrel. Simultaneously with the step of applying the strip adhesive to the outer strip, a portion of the coated paint roller fabric material is received at the outer strip and the length of coated fabric is wound about at least the outer strip to form a paint roller tube.

A paint roller manufacturing system and method are described. In an embodiment, an inner strip of material and an outer strip of material are wound about a mandrel in offset relation. The inner strip of material and the outer strip of material each comprise material that results in a final paint roller which shrinks by less than 2.5 percent of the final paint roller axial length, or which has shrinkage that varies by less +/−0.1%, upon hardening and setting. An adhesive is applied to at least a portion of the outer strip as it is wound about the mandrel. A length of fabric is wound about at least the outer strip to form a paint roller tube, and compression is applied to the paint roller tube while advancing the paint roller tube in a direction parallel to the mandrel. A precision measuring or sensing device is used to control a cutting device causing the cutting device to cut the advancing paint roller tube into pre-selected lengths prior to the paint roller tube hardening and setting.
