Urinary Output Measuring System
Disclosed herein is a urinary output monitoring system. The system can include a urinary output monitoring device having a device body with a front panel and a back panel, and a fluid collection bag attachment configured to be detachably coupled to the front panel and to secure a fluid collection bag. The system can further include a load cell configured to determine a load placed upon the fluid collection bag attachment. The load cell can be in communication with a console. An attachment system can be configured to couple the urinary output monitoring system to a securing surface, for example to the back panel, and can have two or more contact points coupled to one or more rails defining a longitudinal axis, the contact points defining a lateral axis and configured to longitudinally move along the rails.
EXTENDED DWELL AND MIDLINE CATHETERS AND RELATED METHODS
Extended dwell catheter assemblies each with a housing having an interior having a catheter assembly located therein, which can include a catheter tube and a needle. The catheter tube of the catheter assembly can be placed into a vein of a patient, with or without a guidewire, and then the extended dwell catheter assembly can be activated to separate into two or more housing components or by opening a gate to enable separation of the catheter assembly from the housing. A needle guard can be included to cover the needle tip of the needle from unintended needlesticks.
Dual-purpose urinary catheter drain line and collection bag
A sterile dual-purpose closed intermittent urinary catheter system that may be used as either a drain line or a collection bag. A catheter resides within an inner cavity of an extensible sheath and may be extracted from a forward end through an outlet hub for insertion into the urethra. A valve at a rearward end of the sheath may be opened to permit the sheath to function as a drain line, or closed to permit the sheath to function as a collection bag. The sheath has an extended length substantially longer than the catheter length, and may be compressed in an accordion fashion or folded to a compact packaged shape. The urine may be collected in the sheath with the valve closed, or drained straight into a toilet with the valve open. The system may have a source of lubrication to wet the catheter.
INTRODUCING A CONDUCTIVE ELEMENT INTO A CATHETER
Example assemblies and techniques for introducing a conductive element into a catheter are disclosed. An example assembly includes a sensing device configured to sense a parameter of interest in a fluid, the sensing device including sensor circuitry at a distal portion, a sensing element at a proximal portion, and a conductive element communicatively coupled to the sensor circuitry and the sensing element. The assembly includes an introducer defining an introducer lumen configured to receive at least a portion of the conductive element of the sensing device, the introducer being configured to be inserted into a catheter lumen of a catheter while the at least the portion of the conductive element is in the introducer lumen. The assembly further includes a rigid member mechanically coupled to the sensing device and configured to open a longitudinal surface of the introducer as the introducer is retracted relative to the sensing device.
KIT AND METHOD INTENDED FOR PROSTATE SURGERY
The present invention describes a method and kit for performing a prostate medical or surgical treatment.
Detection of tissue damage
Methods and apparatus for detection of tissue damage in patients using a medical device for an extended period of time are disclosed.
Multi-purpose balloon catheter for intra cavity radiation delivery
A multi-purpose balloon intra-cavity catheter includes a catheter having a proximal end portion, a central portion and a non-branching distal end portion, a plurality of lumens associated with the catheter extending from the proximal end portion, and a plurality of inflatable balloons positioned in the central portion and/or the non-branching distal end portion. Each of the plurality of inflatable balloons is communicatively associated with a corresponding one of the plurality of lumens, the plurality of inflatable balloons being selectively inflated or deflated to position and stabilize the catheter in a cavity for delivery of a medical treatment. The catheter can include an extraction opening associated with a lumen to remove fluids and materials from the cavity, and a connector associated with a corresponding lumen adapted to selectively receive one or more of a fluid medium or a radioactive isotope provided to a corresponding lumen for delivery of the medical treatment.
Detection of Tissue Damage
Methods and apparatus for detection of tissue damage in patients using a medical device for an extended period of time are disclosed.
ANTIMICROBIAL DEVICE COMPRISING A CAP WITH RING AND INSERT
Systems, methods, and devices for providing an antimicrobial composition to the proximal elements of a transdermal catheter and into the lumen of the transdermal catheter are disclosed. In an embodiment, the device includes a cap configured to be removably secured to the hub, the cap comprising a ring member comprising first threads for engaging second threads on the hub of the transdermal catheter, the ring member having an opening through its interior; and an insert member secured within the opening of the ring member; wherein the insert member comprises an antimicrobial composition and the ring and insert member do not readily rotate with regard to one another.
URINARY CATHETER WITH INTEGRATED COIL
An indwelling catheter with an integrated coil section is disclosed. The coil section, in use, is disposed outside of the urethra and can stretch and bend to accommodate various activities of a user by reducing frictional forces and trauma within the urethra. This improved catheter design results in an increase in range of motion and a decrease in pain for the user.
