Deformed Web Materials

Deformed web materials are disclosed. The web materials have discrete deformations formed therein. The deformations may be features in the form of portions of a web with apertures therein, protrusions, depressed areas, and combinations thereof. These features may extend out from the surface on one side of the web, or from both of the surfaces of the web. Different features may be intermixed with one another.

COMPLIANT ANVIL

An anvil is configured to operatively engage with a tooling agent. The anvil includes an outer surface, an opposing surface opposite the outer surface and an inner surface. One or more spring elements are disposed between the opposing surface and the inner surface. The springs provide a compliance to the anvil.

POLYAMIDE RESIN MEMBER AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREFOR

The present invention achieves higher performance (improvement in, for example, heat resistance, durability, and mechanical characteristics) of polyamide resin by a method which is not dependent on a combination with fibers. According to an embodiment of a polyamide resin member of the present invention, the polyamide resin member contains nano-oriented crystals of polyamide 66, and has a high heatproof temperature (T.sub.h278 C.) and a high melting point (T.sub.m282 C.).

Microporous breathable film and method of making the microporous breathable film

Microporous breathable films include a polyolefin and an inorganic filler dispersed in the polyolefin. Methods for forming polymeric films and articles of manufacture prepared therefrom are described.

Method for manufacturing microporous film and microporous film

The present invention provides a method for producing a microporous film, including: preparing a resin composition containing polypropylene (PP) as a resin component and containing from 0.01 to 20 parts by weight of a chemically modified cellulose or chemically modified cellulose nanofiber per 100 parts by weight of the resin component and from 0.01 to 3 parts by weight of a -crystal nucleating agent per 100 parts by weight of the resin component; melt-molding the resin composition into a film-like material in which the crystal phase of a polypropylene component in the resin composition is substantially a -crystal phase, and subsequently stretching the film-like material at a temperature of 60 to 160 C., and provides a microporous film.

Activated composite web for absorptive devices

An activated composite web includes a nonwoven layer, and a formed film layer attached to the nonwoven layer. The formed film layer includes a plurality of first apertured protuberances having a mesh count of at least 35, and a plurality of second apertured protuberances. Each of the second apertured protuberances has a cross-sectional area larger than each of the first apertured protuberances. A plurality of first lanes are aligned in a first direction and have a first width extending in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction. The first apertured protuberances are located in the first lanes. A plurality of second lanes are aligned in the first direction and have a second width, less than the first width, extending in the second direction. The first lanes and the second lanes alternate with each other in the second direction. The second apertured protuberances are located in the second lanes.
