Direction-controllable catheter using drug injection channel

The present invention relates to a direction-controllable drug injection catheter. According to the present invention, provided is the catheter extending along a central axis A including a drug injection part in which a drug injection channel has been formed; a channel opening and closing means which opens and closes the drug injection channel; and a steering structure which is rotationally asymmetric with respect to the central axis A and varies according to a pressure change of the drug injection channel for the purpose of steering.

Infusion catheter with guidewire valving

The present disclosure relates to a PTA (percutaneous transluminal angioplasty) balloon catheter, preferably high pressure type, optionally introducible as an over the wire catheter. The catheter possess the attribute of injecting fluid to the treated site through a dedicated opening proximal to the balloon member, for introduction of fluids such as contrast enhancing material and/or medication. In some embodiments, a single lumen is used, at least in part, both for fluids transfer and dispersion (infusion) as well as for guide wire passage. In some such embodiments, a valve mechanism is used to sustain selective operability of the lumen so that fluids will disperse mostly or solely through the proximal dispersion opening rather than the guide wire distal exit opening.

An assembly comprising a catheter package, a catheter and a collecting bag is provided. The assembly has means for preventing flow of liquid through the catheter during storage. A sealing element closing the eyelets is provided. An extended cone-lock in a telescopic catheter is also provided.

Thermodilution catheter

A system includes an outer catheter and an inner catheter. The outer catheter has a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end has a discharge nozzle, a tapered interior wall, and an end orifice. The proximal end is configured to receive a fluid. The discharge nozzle is coupled to the proximal end by a first lumen. The discharge nozzle is configured to direct the fluid in a plurality of discrete streams aligned in a radial fashion about an axis of the first lumen. The interior catheter is configured for placement within the first lumen. A first end of the interior catheter includes an occluder and includes a first temperature sensor. The first temperature sensor is configured to pass through the end orifice. The occluder is configured to engage with the tapered interior wall in a fluid-tight seal. The first temperature sensor includes a sense surface and includes a signal node. The signal node is configured to provide a first signal corresponding to a timewise change in temperature at the sense surface.

Systems, methods, and articles for providing an antimicrobial composition to the proximal elements of a trans-dermal catheter and into the lumen of the transdermal catheter are disclosed. In an embodiment, an antimicrobial composition on surface a cap element transfers antimicrobial to the proximal end of the transdermal catheter. The system comprises an elongate member configured for insertion into a lumen of a catheter, the elongate member containing an antimicrobial.

Intraperitoneal chemotherapy medical devices, kits, and methods

Medical devices useful in the delivery of chemotherapeutic agents, kits and methods are described. An example catheter comprises an elongate member having an elongate member proximal end, an elongate member distal end, and an elongate member main body extending between the elongate member proximal end and the elongate member distal end. The elongate member main body defines an elongate member circumferential wall, first, second, and third openings on the elongate member proximal end, a first heating lumen extending from the first opening toward the elongate member distal end, a second heating lumen extending from the second opening toward the elongate member distal end, and a treatment lumen extending from the third opening toward the elongate member distal end. The treatment lumen comprises a blind passage. The elongate member circumferential wall defines a plurality of passageways providing fluid communication between the treatment lumen and an environment external to the catheter.

A system includes a catheter and one or more fillers, or plugs, configured to block a lumen of the catheter. The catheter may include an elongate tube having a distal end and defining a plurality of lumens. A distal tip structure may be located adjacent to the distal end. A plug may be configured to be positioned within a first portion of a first lumen of the plurality of lumens proximal the distal tip. The plug may include an oval cross-sectional shape and be formed of a biocompatible polymeric material such as silicone, nylon, polyurethane, polyethylene terephthalate, a latex, a plastic, a thermoset, or a thermoplastic elastomer. The oval cross-sectional shape may have first and a second vertices, where the first plug is configured such that either of the vertices may be positioned near an upper side of the first lumen without causing bulging of a wall of the lumen.

Wetting mechanism for a catheter

The invention relates to a wetting mechanism 20 for wetting a tube 12 of a catheter 10. The wetting mechanism 20 includes a housing 16 positioned initially at or proximal to the tip end 13 of the catheter tube 12. The housing 16 comprises a wetting chamber 23 into which at least a portion of the catheter tube 12 is able to be introduced and be moved therethrough to wet the catheter tube 12 in use. The wetting mechanism 20 includes a stopper 26 which is moveable between a first and second positions to prevent or allow the tip end 13 of the catheter tube 12 to be moved through the wetting chamber 23.

DUAL LUMEN SHEATH FOR ARTERIAL ACCESS

A sheath assembly for the insertion of a percutaneous pump includes a tubular sheath body dimensioned for insertion into a blood vessel through a vessel aperture. The tubular sheath body includes a wall having a proximal end portion, a distal end portion, a longitudinal axis, an outer surface, an inner surface defining a first lumen substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis, and a second lumen disposed within the wall between the inner surface and the outer surface and extending from the proximal end portion to the distal end portion. The first lumen is dimensioned to allow passage of a portion of the percutaneous pump, and the second lumen is dimensioned for passage of a guidewire. A stylet is removably positioned to substantially occlude the second lumen. The stylet has a proximal end releasably secured to the sheath assembly.
