An imaging medical device includes a shaft main body portion having an image acquiring lumen and a guide wire lumen. The shaft main body portion includes a first shaft proximal portion in which the image acquiring lumen is disposed, and a second shaft proximal portion in which the guide wire lumen is disposed, with the two being bifurcated. First and second hub portions are interlocked with the first and second shaft proximal portions respectively, and a transducer unit is fixed to a drive shaft. Reference line X represents the axis line of the shaft main body portion, θ1 represents the inclination of the central axis of the first hub portion relative to the reference line, θ2 represents the inclination of the central axis of the second hub portion relative to the reference line, and the relationship of |θ1|>|θ2| is satisfied.

The various embodiments herein relate a catheter advancement device having an elongate shaft and a capsule attached to or integral with the shaft, and related methods for assisting with advancement of catheters such as guiding catheters while reducing damage to the inner wall of the blood vessel. Some capsules have a distal plug portion and a neck portion having a smaller diameter than the plug. Other capsules have a channel defined along the outer surface of the capsule.

Antimicrobial obturator for use with vascular access devices

An obturator can include antimicrobial features which assist in sterilizing or maintaining the sterility of fluid contained within a vascular access device while the device is not being used for infusion or other access to the patient's vasculature. These antimicrobial features include antimicrobial coatings applied to various surfaces of an obturator and antimicrobial components bonded or otherwise secured to an obturator. Various combinations of antimicrobial coatings and/or components can be used on an obturator as necessary to provide a desired amount of antimicrobial agents within a particular enclosed volume of a vascular access device.

Obturator to Facilitate Catheter Line Draw

A vascular access device to passively open a fluid path within a vasculature. The vascular access device may include a catheter and an obturator slidably positioned within the lumen of the catheter. The catheter may have a proximal end, a distal tip comprising an opening having an inner diameter, a sidewall defining a lumen between the proximal end and distal tip. The obturator may have a distal end with an outer diameter configured to form an interference fit with the inner diameter of the distal tip. The obturator may be positioned within the lumen to open various fluid pathways. The obturator may be repositioned to move the catheter tip.

SINGLE LUMEN BALLOON DELIVERY CATHETER WITH LUMEN BYPASS AT BALLOON

Systems and methods for delivering fluid within a lumen may be provided. For example, a device can include an elongated tubular structure having a central opening through which fluid may flow. The central opening can be defined by an open proximal end and an open distal end. The elongated tubular structure can have an elastic section toward the open distal end. The device can also include a blocking device such as a balloon within the central opening of the elongated tubular structure that can help or be configured to prevent the flow of fluid through the central opening between the open proximal end and the open distal end. The device can further include a balloon disposed on an outer surface of the elongated tubular structure. The balloon can be affixed to the outer surface of the elongated tubular structure at a proximal and/or distal attachment site.

EMBRYO TRANSFER CATHETERS

A transfer device includes an elongate tube defining a lumen configured to support an organism and an obstruction positioned along the elongate tube. The obstruction is configured to prevent the organism from moving proximally past the obstruction, such that the obstruction defines a distal end region of the elongate tube in which the organism can move along the lumen of the elongate tube.

Internal balloon sheath

Devices and methods for providing an internal balloon sheath are disclosed. One device includes a sheath for insertion through an arteriotomy of a patient. The sheath comprises a tubular sheath body having a longitudinal axis, an open proximal end, an open distal end, an outer surface and an inner surface, the inner surface defining a lumen between the proximal and distal ends for passage of a catheter device. The sheath also comprises an inflatable balloon disposed within the lumen. The inflatable balloon is configured to occupy a longitudinal space in the lumen between the inner surface of the sheath body and the catheter device when the catheter device is disposed within the sheath and the balloon is inflated, and fluidically seal the lumen.

BALLOON CATHETER

One embodiment provides a balloon catheter which has an inner tube having a main lumen and an outer tube which forms an expansion lumen. A part of the inner tube is connected to the outer tube at a position closer to the proximal end than a balloon, a side hole is open at the connection section, and a weak section is provided to the inner tube a position closer to the distal end than the side hole. The weak section has lower rigidity than the remaining portion of the inner tube. When the balloon is expanded by fluid supplied to the expansion lumen, the weak section is pressed by the fluid pressure to thereby close the main lumen of the inner tube.
