INTRAOPERATIVE IRRIGATION AND SUCTION
A surgical system comprising a catheter comprising an irrigation tube, a suction tube, an occlusion balloon disposed about the irrigation tube and suction tube, and a console in operative communication with the irrigation tube and the suction tube. The surgical system also comprising a remote operations unit in communication with the console via a connector, wherein an input to the remote operations unit is communicated to the console, which in turn acts to operate the irrigation tube and suction tube in a manner corresponding to the input.
Systems and methods to detect catheter occlusion
A system to detect occlusion of an intravenous catheter may include a housing, which may include a distal end configured to couple to a proximal end of a catheter adapter and an inner lumen forming a fluid pathway. The system may also include a wave transmitter, a transducer disposed within the fluid pathway, a processor coupled to the transducer, and an indicator unit coupled to the processor. The wave transmitter may transmit energy waves along a length of an intravenous catheter of the catheter adapter. The processor may receive an electrical signal corresponding to the portion of the energy waves that are reflected back from the intravenous catheter and may determine a difference between the electrical signal and a baseline signal. In response to the difference between the electrical signal and the baseline signal meeting a threshold value, the indicator unit may alert a user.
Sanitizing caps for medical connectors
Antiseptic caps that can be used to disinfect and/or protect medical connectors are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the antiseptic cap can include a first chamber configured to be removably attached to the medical connector. Delivery systems for use with medical articles are also disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the delivery system comprises various dispensing systems for antiseptic caps and/or antiseptic cap holder assemblies. In some embodiments, the delivery system can be configured to permit the medical articles to be individually removable from the delivery system.
Catheter system clamp, systems, and methods
A method to manage flushing of a catheter assembly may include providing a clamp for a fluid tube configured to be coupled to the catheter assembly. The clamp may include a sensor configured to detect the clamp is closed. The method may include starting a timer in response to the sensor detecting the clamp is closed. The method may include providing an alert in response to the timer reaching a predetermined duration of time. The alert may indicate to a clinician that the catheter assembly should be opened and flushed, which may prevent occlusion of the catheter assembly.
Clip Syringe
A single use pre-filled delivery device is disclosed having a deformable container including a side wall having an inside surface defining a chamber for retaining fluid, a clip element, and a locking element. The deformable container further includes a closed proximal end and an open distal end including a male luer tip having a passageway therethrough providing fluid communication with the chamber. The male luer tip may be removably connectable to a female luer connection of a vascular access device. The clip element includes a distal end, proximal end, and a pivot located between the distal end and the proximal end of the clip element for collapsing the deformable container to drive fluid out of the chamber by movement of the proximal end towards the distal end. The pivot may be a hinge, which may be in the form of a living hinge. The deformable container may be attached to the clip element. The locking element may be disposed on the clip element. A method of administering a fluid to a vascular access device using a single use pre-filled delivery device as described herein is also disclosed.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DISINFECTING SURGICAL SITE
A method of performing a surgical procedure comprises inserting a medical instrument into anatomy of a patient to reach target tissue within an anatomical cavity, disinfecting anatomy within the patient with the medical instrument and performing treatment of the target tissue with the medical instrument. A medical device for providing disinfecting to a surgical site, the medical device comprises an elongate shaft extending from a proximal end to a distal end, an imaging device located proximate the distal end of the elongate shaft, a lighting element located proximate the distal end of the elongate shaft, a working channel extending at least partially through the elongate shaft and a disinfecting system attached to the elongate shaft to deliver a disinfecting capability proximate the distal end of the elongate shaft.
Rapid aspiration thrombectomy system and method
An intravascular access system for facilitation of intraluminal medical procedures within the neurovasculature through an access sheath. The system includes an aspiration or support catheter having a flexible, distal luminal portion having an inner diameter defining a lumen extending between a proximal opening at a proximal end of the luminal portion and a distal opening at a distal end of the luminal portion. The catheter has a rigid spine coupled to at least the proximal end of the luminal portion and extending proximally therefrom. The system includes a dilator having a flexible, distal dilator portion sized to be received within the lumen of the luminal portion. Associated systems, devices, and methods of use are also described.
Ultrasound devices for removing clots from catheters and related methods
An apparatus is for use in a vascular space in a body. A catheter has a lumen adapted for communicating fluid between a distal end for insertion in the vascular space and a proximal end. A transducer is adapted for removably connecting to the catheter for contacting the fluid and transmitting energy through the fluid in the lumen for dissolving an obstruction therein. A suction is provided for removing any debris from the obstruction in the lumen of the catheter. The wave guide may be tubular, and may have a length corresponding to the length of the lumen. A catheter or an implantable port including an embedded ultrasonic transducer is also provided.
Obturator assembly with selectively controllable fluid flow path
An obturator assembly includes an obturator positionable within a lumen of a device and movable within the lumen between a first position and a second position. The obturator includes a distal tip portion, wherein, with the obturator in the first position, the distal tip portion limits fluid communication through the lumen and, with the obturator in the second position, the distal tip portion provides fluid communication through the lumen.
ANTIMICROBIAL DEVICE COMPRISING A CAP WITH RING AND INSERT
Systems, methods, and devices for providing an antimicrobial composition to the proximal elements of a transdermal catheter and into the lumen of the transdermal catheter are disclosed. In an embodiment, the device includes a cap configured to be removably secured to the hub, the cap comprising a ring member comprising first threads for engaging second threads on the hub of the transdermal catheter, the ring member having an opening through its interior; and an insert member secured within the opening of the ring member; wherein the insert member comprises an antimicrobial composition and the ring and insert member do not readily rotate with regard to one another.
