A protective device for an elongate catheter carrying a functional element, in particular a stent or a balloon, in particular a balloon coated with an active substance, on a distal end portion of the catheter. The protective device includes a protector configured to be arranged on the distal end portion so that the functional element is surrounded by the protector. A protective sleeve surrounds an interior to receive the catheter together with the protector. The protective sleeve has at least one projection on an inner side of the protective sleeve facing the interior of the protective sleeve. The projection is configured to retain the protector when the catheter together with the protector is arranged in the interior of the protective sleeve and the catheter is withdrawn from the protective sleeve so that the protector is pulled off the distal end portion of the catheter.

A multifunctional enclosure is described having an elongated sleeve configured with an enlarged opening for the insertion of an elongated member of a medical probe. The multifunctional enclosure is configured to prevent the elongated member of the medical probe from swinging and becoming damaged during transport. The multifunctional enclosure may further comprise an attachment component for securing the medical probe to the multifunctional enclosure. Furthermore, at least one vent may be configured onto the multifunctional enclosure, such as on a first end closure portion. The vent may allow for adequate flow for sterilization and/or drying.

The present invention relates to a novel catheter brush device. The device is designed to offer a more effective method of removing blood clots and debris from the bladder without requiring additional surgery. The device comprises a brush with a blunt end with soft bristles, as well as a loop end that acts as a handle. Users remove the drainage tube from the catheter and insert the brush through the opening to the tip of the catheter. The brush is then moved in a gentle, circular motion to clear any clotting and blockages from the catheter. The brush is then removed, and the drainage tube reattached, such that urine can flow freely through the catheter. If sterility is maintained, process may be repeated as needed.

A urinary catheter caddy for storing a plurality of packages of urinary catheters and for holding a selected one of the plurality of packages for dispensing of the urinary catheter therefrom includes a caddy body forming a storage space sized to receive and hold a plurality of packages of urinary catheters. An access opening extends from outside the caddy body into the storage space so a user can select one of the urinary catheter packages and pull an openable end of the selected package through the access opening with the opposite end of the package remaining in the storage space. The package is opened to expose a portion of the urinary catheter and an opened portion of the package is held by a package material holder so the catheter can be pulled by the exposed portion from the opened package without contaminating the catheter.

A guidewire support accessory includes one or more hollow tubular sections, each of the hollow tubular sections including a first end and an opposing second end for individually supporting a plurality of medical guidewires. A connector is disposed at the first end. Each of the one or more hollow tubular sections is sized and configured to receive a medical guidewire maintained in a coiled arrangement. A protective sleeve for a urinary catheter includes a sleeve configured to extend over an outer surface of the urinary catheter shaft from a proximal insertion end of the catheter shaft to a distal end of the catheter shaft. The sleeve and the protective sleeve tip are of a single unitary construction and the sleeve and protective sleeve tip are formed of the same thin, flexible film. The protective sleeve tips has a first pre-use configuration when a proximal insertion end of the catheter is not within the protective sleeve tip wherein the protective sleeve tip is in a collapsed state, and a second configuration when a proximal insertion end of a urinary catheter is inserted into the protective sleeve tip, in the second configuration the protective sleeve tip being in an extended state that is configured to cover the proximal insertion end of the urinary catheter shaft and the thin, flexible film conforms to and is supported by the proximal insertion end of the urinary catheter for insertion of the protective sleeve tip into the urethral opening.
