Foley Catheter System with Specimen Sampling Port Disinfectant Cap and Corresponding Tray Packaging Systems and Drainage Products
A medical procedure kit includes a Foley catheter having a specimen sampling port coupled thereto. A disinfectant cap is selectively attachable to, and detachable from, the specimen sampling port of the Foley catheter.
Catheter Tray, Packaging System, Instructional Inserts, and Associated Methods
A tray (100) for accommodating a coiled medical device, such as a catheter assembly (700), includes a first compartment (101), a second compartment (102), and a third compartment (103). The catheter assembly (700) and devices associated with a catheterization procedure, such as syringes (706,707) containing sterile water and lubricating jelly and a specimen container (708) can be disposed within the tray. Instructional banners (1600,1700,1800,1900,2000,2100, 2200,2300) can be included with the tray (100). One or more layers of wrap material (2200) can be folded about the tray (100) to enclose the tray (100) and other items, such as an additional layer of wrap material (800), packaged liquid skin sanitizer (709), an instructional banner (1600), and packaged gloves (712).
Infusion device with automatic insertion and introducer needle retraction
An infusion device (10) includes one or more of automatic insertion and retraction of an introducer needle (40) and catheter (28), introducer needle safety and extension set. The device (10) can further comprise a top-push button (16) activation feature, a side-push button (402) activation feature or a rotary-button (412) activation feature, and one or more of a manual interlock of an outer barrel and base, and a manual interlock for an extension set top and base. Packaging (500) for an integrated and/or removable inserter with activation button protection is also disclosed.
Tamper-evident enclosure for PICC line
A catheter enclosure device for locking an intravenous catheter therein with tamper-evident features to deter unauthorized use. The catheter enclosure device may be particularly useful for peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC). The enclosure device comprises an open-top box and a removable lid for covering the box. The open-top box has a compartment for holding the proximal end of an intravenous catheter. The lid comprises a panel for covering the open portion of the open-top box and a folding wing that overhangs the forward end of the box when covering the box. The folding wing further comprises a retaining anchor. When the folding wing is folded down, the retaining anchor inserts into a locking slot on the forward end of the box, thereby preventing the lid from being removed off the box. Also disclosed are methods for using the catheter enclosure device.
PACKAGED CATHETER ASSEMBLY
A packaged catheter assembly comprising a pouch and a catheter, wherein: the catheter is arranged within the pouch. The catheter comprises at least one handling sleeve configured to provide at least two handling sleeve elements after withdrawal of the catheter from the pouch. The catheter may comprise one handling sleeve configured to provide at least two handling sleeve elements. The handling sleeve may comprise a point of weakness comprising one or more perforations provided about a circumference of the respective handling sleeve. A method of packaging a catheter, the catheter comprising at least one handling sleeve, the method comprising: providing at least two handling sleeve elements; and arranging the catheter within a pouch using the handling sleeve elements. The method may comprise: separating at least one handling sleeve into at least two handling sleeve elements; coiling or looping the catheter; and forming a knot in the catheter.
THROMBECTOMY APPARATUSES
Methods and apparatuses for removing material (e.g., clot) from within a body, including inverting thrombectomy apparatuses. These methods and apparatuses may include methods and apparatuses for reusing portion of the devices, method and apparatuses for loading and reloading the inverting thrombectomy apparatuses, and methods and apparatuses for improving and enhancing the ability of the inverting thrombectomy apparatuses to remove clot. In particular, described herein are expandable scraper devices that may be used in conjunction with the inverting thrombectomy apparatuses descried herein, or on their own.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SECURING MEDICAL DEVICES
A system comprises a substrate having a plurality of apertures, and a clip. The clip is removably coupled to one of the plurality of apertures. The clip has a body, a plurality of fingers, a first leg, a second leg, a first notch, and a second notch. The fingers extend from the body to collectively form at least two tube-engaging regions. The first leg is adjacent to a first end of the body and extends from the body opposite the fingers. The second leg is adjacent to a second end of the body and extends from the body opposite the fingers. The first notch is adjacent to the first end of the body and is configured to receive a first portion of the substrate. The second notch is adjacent to the second end of the body and is configured to receive a second portion of the substrate.
Dual-purpose urinary catheter drain line and collection bag
A sterile dual-purpose closed intermittent urinary catheter system that may be used as either a drain line or a collection bag. A catheter resides within an inner cavity of an extensible sheath and may be extracted from a forward end through an outlet hub for insertion into the urethra. A valve at a rearward end of the sheath may be opened to permit the sheath to function as a drain line, or closed to permit the sheath to function as a collection bag. The sheath has an extended length substantially longer than the catheter length, and may be compressed in an accordion fashion or folded to a compact packaged shape. The urine may be collected in the sheath with the valve closed, or drained straight into a toilet with the valve open. The system may have a source of lubrication to wet the catheter.
Apparatus, system, and method for extending a guidewire
In various examples, an apparatus facilitates attachment of an extension wire to a guidewire. The apparatus includes a body portion including a lumen sized to accommodate a distal end of the extension wire therein. A cutout is defined within a portion of a sidewall of the body portion, the cutout allowing access to the lumen. A funnel portion is disposed within a distal end of the body portion and includes an opening in the distal end of the body portion. The funnel portion includes a tapered wall converging from the opening to the lumen, wherein, with the distal end of the extension wire disposed within the lumen, the funnel portion facilitates alignment and attachment of a proximal end of the guidewire with the distal end of the extension wire. In other examples, a system or a method facilitates attachment of an extension wire to a guidewire.
