Method and apparatus for treating genitourinary problems

Apparatus and methods for treatment of bleeding and/or microbial infection of the genitourinary tract including a catheter and an insertable and removable medicament-delivery sheath for introducing a hemostatic and/or anti-microbial substance or the like. Some embodiments further include a light-delivery sheath and/or light-delivery-and-imaging sheath having a light-propagation channel, and a source of anti-microbial and/or imaging light in one or more wavelength bands, for example UVC light and/or light in the visible violet, blue or green wavelength ranges. Some embodiments include a display for captured images, and/or a motorized sheath-movement device configured to move one or more light-output ports. Some embodiments further include a light-propagation channel built into the catheter itself (such as one or more optical fibers) for the administration of anti-microbial ultraviolet light (and/or other wavelengths of light) light along the catheter and/or at the distal end of the catheter to treat and/or prevent microbial (bacterial and/or fungal) infections.

Described are methods, systems, and devices for facilitation of intraluminal medical procedures within the neurovasculature including catheters and catheter advancement elements.

BI-DIRECTIONAL ACCESS TO TUMORS

An apparatus for guiding the migration of cancer and other cells includes a reservoir device, a cover, a tube, a nanofiber structure, and a lock device. The reservoir device defines a reservoir having an open top. The cover is configured for removable installation over the open top of the reservoir. The tube has a proximal end portion reaching into the reservoir. The nanofiber structure communicates an inlet port in the tube with the reservoir. The lock device interlocks the tube with the reservoir device, and also interlocks the nanofiber structure with the reservoir device.

MEDICAL DEVICE AND BENDABLE UNIT

A medical device 1 includes a main body driving unit (300) including a plurality of driving sources (M11 to M33), a base unit (200) including a coupling device (21) connected to the main body driving unit, a bendable unit (100) configured to be detachably attached to the base unit, and an operation unit (400) configured to be movable between a fixed position and a detachment position. The base unit includes a plurality of coupling units (21c11 to 21c33). The bendable unit includes a plurality of linear members (W11 to W33). A state where each of the plurality of linear members is fixed by each of the plurality of coupling units and a state where each of the plurality of linear members is unfixed from each of the plurality of coupling units are switched in an interlocked manner with movement of the operation unit.

Lasso filter tipped microcatheter for simultaneous rotating separator, irrigator for thrombectomy and method for use

The invention provides a filter assembly including a string or wire such that a lasso type cincture is effected, said filter being openable and closeable while in deployed within a bodily vessel. A string lengthen or shorting adjustment mechanism, such as a ratchet or reel allows more length of string into the device or alternatively to shorten the length of available string in the system. The described invention, when used to ameliorate venous clots and most arterio-venous dialysis grafts, a filter-tipped aspirator is used downstream from the clot to capture and remove dislocated emboli. A method of using same is disclosed.

Detachable tip microcatheter

A microcatheter for delivering embolic agent to a vascular site is provided. The microcatheter has a biocompatible or biocompatible and biodegradable tip which can be detachably engaged to the microcatheter body by a thermoplastic sleeve. Once the embolic agent is delivered to the desired vascular site, the tip of the microcatheter is often entrapped within the mass of the liquid embolic fluid. Using the microcatheter, the clinician can retract the microcatheter at a predetermined retraction force thereby disengaging the tip from the microcatheter body allowing for easier removal of the microcatheter.

LUBRICIOUS EXTRUDED MEDICAL TUBING

A medical tube having improved lubricity is disclosed. The medical tube is produced by extruding a polymer material blended with a lubricity enhancing additive through a resilient die. The polymer material can be medical-grade high-density polyethylene, and the lubricity enhancing additive can be a silicone-based or alloy-based material. The medical tube can include one or more internal elongated protuberances so as to reduce the internal surface area of the medical tube available to generate friction on a guide wire inserted or withdrawn through the medical tube.

ELECTRICALLY ENHANCED RETRIEVAL OF MATERIAL FROM VESSEL LUMENS

Retrieval of material from vessel lumens can be improved by electrically enhancing attachment of the material to the thrombectomy system. The system can include a catheter having a distal portion configured to be positioned adjacent to a thrombus in a blood vessel, an electrode disposed at the distal portion of the catheter, and an interventional element configured to be delivered through a lumen of the catheter. The electrode and the interventional element are each configured to be electrically coupled to an extracorporeal power supply.

Microcatheter and method

A microcatheter includes an inner polymeric tube defining an inner lumen. It includes a proximal section with an inner wire layer helically wound in a constricted state over the inner polymeric tube and includes an outer wire layer helically wound over the inner wire layer in a constricted state within the proximal section. It includes a distal section with a distal wire layer helically wound in a constricted state and having an outer diameter. The proximal and distal sections are joined. The outer diameter of the outer wire layer is substantially the same as the outer diameter of distal wire layer at the location where the proximal and distal sections are joined.
