CANNULAS HAVING WALL STRENGTHENING FEATURES, AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A cannula may include a bowl portion comprising a first opening and a second opening, and an insertion tube extending from the bowl portion. The insertion tube defines a passage extending from the second opening and terminating in a distal end opening. The passage is configured to receive an instrument to be advanced through the cannula. The insertion tube has a transparent portion extending proximally from the distal end opening, and a strengthened portion extending proximally from the transparent portion.
Catheter including tapering coil member
In some examples of a method of forming a catheter, a structural support member is positioned over an inner liner. Prior to being positioned over the inner liner, the structural support member tapers in diameter along at least a portion of a length of the structural support member.
LIMA CROSSOVER INTEGRATED CATHETER SYSTEM
The present disclosure includes an integrated catheter system for cannulation of a LIMA graft from a right radial access point. Some integrated catheter systems include a guide catheter comprising an elongated member having an outer sheath body portion that includes an outer sheath proximal end, an outer sheath distal end, and an outer sheath lumen extending through the outer sheath between the outer sheath proximal end and the outer sheath distal end, the outer sheath including a curved section that includes: a first curved segment, a second curved segment, a third curved segment, a fourth curved segment, a first extended segment between the third curved segment and the fourth curved segment, and a second extended segment between the fourth curved segment and the outer sheath distal end.
MODULAR VASCULAR CATHETER
A catheter is provided that comprises at least one proximal tubular module and a distal tubular module, each of the tubular modules having at least one section with spiral cuts, each pair of adjacent tubular modules are coupled by a joint, the joint comprising, (a) at least one snap-fit connector on a first tubular module and a snap-fit acceptor positioned on the adjacent tubular module, the snap-fit connector being elastically deformable when engaged, and (b) at least one stabilizing element, including, a tongue element positioned on the first tubular module or the adjacent tubular module, and a groove element positioned on the opposite, first tubular module or the opposite, adjacent tubular module.
ELECTRODE CATHETER
An electrode catheter includes a catheter shaft, an irrigation member, and a distal-end electrode. A female thread is formed on the distal-end electrode. The irrigation member includes a first component having an annular shape, and a second component having an eccentric flow path formed inside a proximal-end part thereof and a male thread formed at a distal-end part thereof, the male thread being screwed to the female thread of the distal-end electrode. With the first component and the distal-end electrode fitted to each other, the first component and the second component fitted to each other, the distal-end portion of the second component inserted into the distal-end electrode, and the female thread and the male thread screwed to each other, the distal-end electrode and the irrigation member are connected to each other while forming, inside the first component, a storage space for a liquid.
Intrasaccular Flow Diverter
Intrasaccular flow diverter including: an interior fill braid physically inverted over itself forming a proximal inverted end and an opposite free end; and a dome braid disposed distally of and secured to the interior fill braid. Subject to application of an external mechanical force, the dome braid is transitionable between an expanded state and a compressed state. The dome braid has a proximal end with an opening defined therein through which starting at the free end the interior fill braid is passable therethrough exerting a radially outward force on the dome braid. A delivery wire is releasably detachable from the proximal inverted end of the interior fill braid. The dome braid has a stiffer profile relative to that of the interior fill braid to maintain in position within the aneurysm the dome braid as the interior fill braid is advanced therein.
DOUBLE LAYER BRAID
A double layered braid for treating an aneurysm is provided. The braid can include a first radially expandable segment having a first plurality of wire segments with a first braid wire diameter. The braid can include a second radially expandable segment having a second plurality of wire segments with a second braid wire diameter, the second braid wire diameter being greater than the first braid wire diameter. The first segment can radially expand to form an outer occlusive sack that seals across a neck of the aneurysm. The second segment can radially expand within the outer occlusive sack to form an inner occlusive sack. The greater second braid wire diameter can allow the inner occlusive sack to exert a force against the outer occlusive sack and the walls of the aneurysm. The force can minimize movement of the outer occlusive sack from the neck of the aneurysm.
Electrically enhanced retrieval of material from vessel lumens
Retrieval of material from vessel lumens can be improved by electrically enhancing attachment of the material to the thrombectomy system. The system can include a catheter having a distal portion configured to be positioned adjacent to a thrombus in a blood vessel, an electrode disposed at the distal portion of the catheter, and an interventional element configured to be delivered through a lumen of the catheter. The electrode and the interventional element are each configured to be electrically coupled to an extracorporeal power supply.
DETACHABLE BALLOON EMBOLIZATION DEVICE AND METHODS
A balloon embolization apparatus, system and method include a detachable balloon device mounted to the distal end of a catheter or microcatheter. The balloon device includes an elongated cannula having first and second axial lumens defined in the cannula, one lumen which allows for travel over a wire, an inflatable balloon disposed on the cannula, and a valve sleeve disposed between the balloon and the cannula. An inflation port on the cannula allows fluid to be introduced to the balloon via a channel in the catheter. The valve sleeve includes a vent offset from the inflation port in the cannula. The valve sleeve allows the introduced fluid to inflate the balloon, but prevents the fluid from escaping, thereby forming a check valve. Once inflated, the catheter is detached from the balloon apparatus. When the catheter is withdrawn, the balloon remains in place to allow for embolization.
LASSO FILTER TIPPED MICROCATHETER FOR SIMULTANEOUS ROTATING SEPARATOR, IRRIGATOR FOR THROMBECTOMY AND METHOD FOR USE
The invention provides a filter assembly including a string or wire such that a lasso type cincture is effected, said filter being openable and closeable while in deployed within a bodily vessel. A string lengthen or shorting adjustment mechanism, such as a ratchet or reel allows more length of string into the device or alternatively to shorten the length of available string in the system. The described invention, when used to ameliorate venous clots and most arterio-venous dialysis grafts, a filter-tipped aspirator is used downstream from the clot to capture and remove dislocated emboli. A method of using same is disclosed.
