An applying device (1) and an applying method that can speedily perform application of a film (F) on an application target surface (S) and improve a quality of a finish. The applying device (1) is provided with a film support portion (2) that supports the film (F). The film support portion (2) is provided with a first support body and a second support body lined up in a first direction (Y), a film fixing mechanism that is provided on the first support body and the second support body and fixes the film along the first direction, and a first angle changing mechanism that changes an angle around an axis line extending so as to intersect the first direction between the first support body and the second support body. The invention also concerns a film applied to an application target surface.

Large Surface Laminating System and Method

There is provided a laminating system (30) comprising a laminating module (200) and a transportation module (100) wherein the transportation module (100) is arranged to automatically drive the laminating module (200) over a surface (10) to be laminated. Here the surface (10) to be laminated is large and maintained substantially stationary. The transportation module (100) includes a retaining means and a drive means. The retaining means resists movement of the laminating module (200) relative to the surface (10) except when the laminating module is driven by the drive means. The laminating module (200) includes an unwind unit (210) adapted to receive a roll of laminate (20). The laminate (20) comprises an adhesive film and first release layer. The unwind unit (210) is adapted to allow the laminate to be unwound from the roll. A first release layer discard unit is provided. The first release layer discard unit is adapted to remove the first release layer from the laminate. The laminating module (200) includes a first pressing unit (240). The first pressing unit (240) is adapted to press the film onto the surface (10). Here, the retaining means is adapted to resist a pressing force applied by the first pressing unit (240) and acting to move the laminating module (200) away from the surface. As the transportation module (100) automatically drives the laminating module (200) over the surface, the pressing unit (240) presses the film to the surface.

A cutting mechanism includes a cutter roll and a rotational driving mechanism for rotationally driving the cutter roll. The cutter roll has a roll body and a blade portion protruding from a peripheral surface of the roll body. The blade portion is formed at a same position on a circumference of the roll body and extends in an axial direction of the roll body. The cutter roll is arranged so that the axial direction is at a predetermined angle with respect to a pull-out direction of the reinforcing fiber material. The cutting mechanism further includes a slide mechanism that displaces cutter roll in the axial direction toward a side in the pull-out direction of the reinforcing fiber material at least when the reinforcing fiber material is cut.

A method of bonding substrates includes steps as follows. Providing a curved glass substrate and a flexible light-transmissive film; moving a roller to press the flexible light-transmissive film onto the curved glass substrate so that the flexible light-transmissive film matches a curvature of the curved glass substrate to gradually fit and bond onto the curved glass substrate; sensing the attaching level of at least one local area of the flexible light-transmissive film bonded on the curved glass substrate; and adjusting a press force exerted by the roller to the local area of the flexible light-transmissive film according to the attaching level during the flexible light-transmissive film is bonded onto the curved glass substrate.

An apparatus to apply a foam seal to a part is provided. The apparatus comprises a receiving device to secure the part, a loading device and a driving device to drive the loading device. The receiving device includes a housing, a first rod coupled to the housing and at least partially disposed in the housing and a resilient member connected between the housing and the first rod at a radial direction. The loading device includes an actuating member and a holding member to hold the foam seal. The driving device is configured to move the loading device between a loading position and an application position and further drive the actuating member and the holding member to rotate around an axis parallel to the first rod. The actuation member contacts the housing while rotating and the foam seal on the holding member contacts the part at the application position.

COATING APPARATUS

A coating apparatus includes a support unit configured to support a film over a work to be coated. The support unit includes first support unit and second support unit which are arranged with a distance therebetween in a first direction so as to be positioned on both sides of the work. The first support unit includes a first lower member and a first upper member which vertically hold therebetween a first end of the film. The second support unit includes a second lower member and a second upper member which vertically hold therebetween a second end of the film. Each of the first lower member and the second lower member includes a support surface which extends in a second direction intersecting with the first direction while curving in an up-down direction, and is configured to support the film from below.
