Irrigated high density electrode catheter
An irrigated high density electrode catheter can comprise a catheter shaft. The catheter shaft can include a proximal end and a distal end and can define a catheter shaft longitudinal axis. A flexible tip portion can be located adjacent to the distal end of the catheter shaft. An irrigated coupler can be disposed on the distal end of the catheter shaft and can be configured to discharge fluid over the flexible tip portion.
INFUSING DRUG SOLUTION DIRECTLY INTO BRAIN FLUID
A method of treating a subject which may be a human suffering from epilepsy which may be a form of epilepsy resistant to treatment and particular patients which are resistant to treatment with oral medication. The method involves positioning a catheter device in the subject's brain and infusing a liquid formulation of a drug into a portion of the subject's brain through an infusion lumen at a rate of 5, 4, 3, 2, or 1 ml or less per day ±50%. The infusion may be constant and corrected by aspirating fluid from the patient's brain and testing the aspirated fluid for drug concentration. The rate of infusion by the formulation and the concentration of drug may be adjusted based on patient responsiveness.
Centering device for a catheter
A catheter may include an elongated tube enclosing at least one catheter lumen, and a centering device coupled to a distal end of the elongated tube, wherein the centering device includes a plurality of legs. Each leg of the plurality of legs may include a first end fixed to an outer surface of the elongated tube. Each leg of the plurality of legs may include an outward bias such that a central portion of each leg of the plurality of legs is spaced radially outward from the elongated tube when the centering device is in an expanded state.
MOTION GENERATING INTERVENTIONAL AID DEVICE, SYSTEM, AND METHOD
Motion generating devices for imparting motion to interventional devices to aid in the use of such interventional devices, and methods of making and using the same. An exemplary motion generating device of the present disclosure comprises at least one motion source, such as a motor, voice coil actuator, or the like, and a mating surface configured to engage an interventional device, wherein the motion generating device can impart multimodal vibrational and/or rotational movement, both independently and/or simultaneously, to the interventional device thereby aiding in the advancement of the interventional device through the vasculature of a patient.
Drainage catheter hub with a semi-compressed suture seal
Described are drainage catheter hub devices which seal the hub from leakage when connected to a catheter. The catheter hub includes a hub body having an aperture with a sealing element mounted therein and a fluid passageway that communicates with the aperture. The fluid passageway and sealing element are configured to receive a tension member. A lever arm attached to the hub body is operable to secure the position of the tension member in the sealing element in a locked position or allow movement of the tension member through the sealing element in an unlocked position. The lever arm is configured to engage and compress the sealing element to block fluid flow through the sealing element and the aperture when the lever arm is in any position. The hub body may include a centering tab to align the tension member along a longitudinal axis of the hub body.
METHODS FOR CROSSING AND TREATING AN OCCLUSION
A device and method for treating a patient with total or near total occlusion is provided. The device can be positioned in a blood vessel at a treatment site. An occlusion at the treatment site is enlarged by a catheter. The catheter can be advanced over a guidewire into the occlusion. One or more of [a] compression or torsion applied to the guidewire or [b] compression or torsion applied to the catheter body expands or creates a path through the occlusion. The expansions or creation of the access path can be by cutting or abrading the occlusion or by a shoe-horn effect.
PERCUTANEOUS CATHETER AND METHOD OF USING PERCUTANEOUS CATHETER
A catheter for percutaneous cardiopulmonary support has a lumen through which blood flows to a living body. The catheter comprises a catheter tube including a tubular reinforcing body including a plurality of wires braided into a mesh shape and a resin layer provided so as to cover the reinforcing body. A plurality of side holes are formed at a distal end of the catheter tube to communicate the lumen with the outside of the catheter tube. The side holes allow the blood flowing through the lumen to flow out in a direction intersecting an axial direction of the catheter tube when the catheter tube is indwelled. The plurality of side holes preferably may be spirally arranged in a circumferential direction of the tube.
MEDICAL ELONGATED BODY
A medical elongated body that is capable of improving convenience during use by a surgeon, and capable of preventing peeling, from a catheter main body, of a drug portion (a hydrophilic coating) containing metal ions and a drug when disposed on a wound site of a patient. An introducer sheath includes a tubular sheath configured to be percutaneously inserted into a blood vessel, and a hub connected to a proximal portion of the tubular sheath, in which the tubular sheath includes a first region and a second region located on a proximal side relative to the first region, the first region has a first hydrophilic coating having lubricity, the second region includes a groove portion extending from a distal side of the tubular sheath toward a proximal side of the tubular sheath, the groove portion having a second hydrophilic coating containing at least one of metal ions and a drug.
DRUG ASSISTED WOUND DRAINAGE LINE
The wound drainage apparatus for drug-assisted removal of bodily fluids includes a double-lumen tubing member connected to a customizable branched tubing member for placement in a wound cavity. A perforated inner tube connected to an anticoagulant drug delivery pump and a solid outer tube connected to a fluid drainage vacuum make up the double-lumen tubing member. The branched tubing member includes a plurality of secondary wound cavity tubes branching away from a primary wound cavity tube. The apparatus disclosed herein improves upon current drainage systems by preventing occlusions produced by blood clots forming in fluid drainage tubes.
COVERED CATHETHER
A covered catheter, including a catheter body coated with a lubricant to facilitate entry into tissue of a user, and a covering sheath, including a sheath body to cover at least a portion of the catheter body in an extended position, and expose the catheter body in a retracted position, a first end cap disposed on at least a portion of a first end of the sheath body to enclose the first end of the sheath body, and a second end cap disposed on at least a portion of a second end of the sheath body to enclose the second end of the sheath body.
