A medical instrument that includes a needle and an expandable member located at a distal end of the needle. The expandable member includes a blocking member. The expandable member is configured to move tissue away from a distal end of the needle and/or from a distal end of a tubular member that is in fluid communication with a substance source. A substance is configured to be expelled into the anatomy through the expandable member. The blocking member is configured to restrict or prevent the substance from being expelled through the portion of the expandable member that includes the blocking member.

An endovascular device may include (a) a proximal end, configured for communicating a pressure signal to a receiver; (b) a distal end comprising a pressure sensor that is based on (i) a piezoelectric polymer layer; and (ii) first and second electrodes, electrically insulated from each other, each contacting the piezoelectric polymer layer, wherein the pressure sensor derives the pressure signal from the first and second electrodes; and (c) a device body, which provides one or more conductors to carry the pressure signal from the distal end to the proximal end.

RETRACTABLE OUTER SHEATH FOR DRUG COATED BALLOON

The present disclosure relates generally to an outer sheath and the use of the outer sheath with a drug coated balloon for the treatment of vascular conditions. In particular, the present disclosure provides an outer sheath that is capable of covering the expandable member during delivery and removal of the drug coated balloon.

STABILIZING TRANSNASAL BALLOON SHEATH

A transnasal transesophageal balloon catheter includes at least one compliant balloon attached to the external surface of the tubular body. An arrangement of structures extend away from the internal surface of the tubular body, and exposed probe guide surfaces on the structures form a lumen with a diameter of less than about 15 French (Fr) (5 mm) extending from the proximal end to the distal end of the tubular body and configured to slidably and rotatably receive the ultrasound probe. An arrangement of elongate fluid channels are interspersed with the structures. The fluid channels are in fluid communication with the lumen and transport a fluid between a fluid ingress port and a fluid egress port to at least partially inflate or deflate the balloon.

Rapid aspiration thrombectomy system and method

An intravascular access system for facilitation of intraluminal medical procedures within the neurovasculature through an access sheath. The system includes an aspiration or support catheter having a flexible, distal luminal portion having an inner diameter defining a lumen extending between a proximal opening at a proximal end of the luminal portion and a distal opening at a distal end of the luminal portion. The catheter has a rigid spine coupled to at least the proximal end of the luminal portion and extending proximally therefrom. The system includes a dilator having a flexible, distal dilator portion sized to be received within the lumen of the luminal portion. Associated systems, devices, and methods of use are also described.

CATHETER SYSTEM INSERT

An insert for a catheter system may include a distal end, a proximal end, and a middle portion disposed between the distal end and the proximal end. The distal end of the insert may include a male port, and the proximal end of the insert may include a female port opposite the male port. The insert may be configured to extend through an adapter and/or a needleless connector of a catheter system to reduce exposure of the adapter and/or the needleless connector to blood, which may flow through a lumen of the insert. The lumen of the insert may extend through the male port, the middle portion, and the female port.
