Method and apparatus for forming a non-pneumatic tire carcass
This disclosure includes methods and apparatus for forming a non-pneumatic tire carcass comprising an inner hub, an outer band, and a plurality of spokes. The method includes arranging the inner hub, the plurality of spokes, and the outer band to form a curing assembly arranged in a first arrangement within a forming apparatus, where the inner hub is arranged concentrically within a radially inner annular side of the outer band and the plurality of spokes are arranged between the outer band and the inner hub. The plurality of spokes are forced in opposite radial directions from the first arrangement and to a second arrangement, where each spoke of the plurality of spokes is forced in a curing position against the inner hub and towards the outer band in a curing arrangement. The plurality of spokes are then cured to each of the inner hub and outer band.
Ultrasonic transducer for surgical instrument
An ultrasonic surgical device is disclosed including a surgical tool including a proximal transducer mounting portion defining a surface, a distal end effector end, and a waveguide disposed therebetween, the waveguide extending along a longitudinal axis. The ultrasonic surgical device further includes a transducer is in mechanical communication with the surface of the transducer mounting portion. The transducer is configured to operate in a D31 mode with respect to the longitudinal axis of the waveguide. Upon activation by an electrical signal having a predetermined frequency component, the transducer is configured to induce a standing wave in the surgical tool to cause the end effector to vibrate, the standing wave having a wavelength proportional to the predetermined frequency component of the electrical signal.
Spacers for insulated glass
This invention provides a sealing spacer for spacing apart two window panes to form a window assembly. The spacer has an elongated, flexible strip having opposed edge surfaces and opposed side surfaces. The spacer also has a fiber reinforced polymer layer over the elongated, flexible strip. The opposed edge surfaces undulate with crests and troughs. The spacer has an activatable sealant for directly sealingly securing the flexible strip to each of the two window panes. The activatable sealant is on each of the opposed side surfaces of the fiber reinforced polymer. The invention also provides methods for making the spacer and window assembly.
Upon activation by an electrical signal having a predetermined frequency component, the transducer is configured to induce a standing wave in the surgical tool to cause the end effector to vibrate, the standing wave having a wavelength proportional to the predetermined frequency component of the electrical signal
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING COVER WINDOW AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING DISPLAY DEVICE
A method of manufacturing a display device, the method including ejecting a window raw material into a mold, precuring the ejected window raw material, molding a cover window by placing the precured window raw material onto a display panel and curing the precured window raw material, and separating the mold from the cover window.
Fatigue life improvement of adhesively bonded joints
A method is provided for manufacturing an adhesively bonded structure including first and second components including first and second outer surfaces, respectively, at least the first component being a first metal component, the first and second outer surfaces facing one another and partially overlapping, and the adhesively bonded structure including an adhesive layer received between overlapping portions of the first and second outer surfaces. The method includes deforming the first outer surface of the first metal component along a first isolated path extending beside the first edge of the adhesive layer along at least a majority of a length of the first edge of the adhesive layer.
Polylactic acid adhesive compositions and methods for their preparation and use
New adhesives and methods for preparing them are disclosed that include polylactic acid irradiated with gamma radiation, such as by a Co.sup.60 source. Irradiation times are used that improve the characteristics of the adhesive materials. Generally, the dose of radiation is from about 5 kGy to about 200 kGy of gamma irradiation. The adhesives generally have melting temperatures in the range of at least about 140 to about 148 C. such that they can be conveniently used in conventional glue guns and other glue equipment. The disclosed adhesives can provide bond strengths in the range of about 1,600 psi or more to about 2,500 psi or more. The disclosed adhesives can include a crosslinking agents. They can be used to join a wide range of substrates including wood, metal, plastic, ceramic, glass or combinations of substrates. They can be conveniently prepared by heating a polylactic acid (polylactic acid) preparation and mixing the molten polylactic acid with one or more crosslinkers when present. The molten mixture can then be and the polylactic acid can be irradiated with the desired dose of gamma radiation. Irradiation can occur before during or after mixing with the crosslinking agent and before or after shaping into the desired shape or even after use to join substrates. The adhesives can be used to join substrates by any known method once heated to a molten state.
Apparatus and an assembly to apply a foam seal to a part
An apparatus to apply a foam seal to a part is provided. The apparatus comprises a receiving device to secure the part, a loading device and a driving device to drive the loading device. The receiving device includes a housing, a first rod coupled to the housing and at least partially disposed in the housing and a resilient member connected between the housing and the first rod at a radial direction. The loading device includes an actuating member and a holding member to hold the foam seal. The driving device is configured to move the loading device between a loading position and an application position and further drive the actuating member and the holding member to rotate around an axis parallel to the first rod. The actuation member contacts the housing while rotating and the foam seal on the holding member contacts the part at the application position.
System for manufacturing display unit
A system for manufacturing a display unit including: a transport unit which transports an optical film comprising a polarizing film, an adhesive layer, and a release film, by a predetermined transport length and stops the transport of the optical film; a cutting unit which cuts the optical film in a width direction at a predetermined cutting position without cutting the release film; a separating unit which separates the release film from the polarizing film at the cutting position; and an attaching unit which attaches the polarizing film, from which the release film is separated, to a panel. The transport unit includes a horizontal roll satisfying the following conditional expression:
I*n<H<I*(n+1) in which I is the predetermined transport length, n is an integer equal to or greater than 0, and H is a horizontal distance between a rotation center of the horizontal roll and the cutting position.
