The hook end segment of the shaft is opposite to and longitudinally spaced from the grip end segment of the shaft. The hook member includes a shank extending longitudinally along the hook end segment of the shaft, an engagement segment located proximally on the shank and extending transversely away from the shank into a transversely-oriented hole of the hook end segment of the shaft, and a piercing element configured to pierce fish that is located distally on the shank. The piercing element extends distally beyond a distal end of the shaft. The fishing gaff also includes a coupling member disposed circumferentially around the shank to hold the shank onto the shaft.

Conduit coupling apparatus and method

A coupling may be configured to receive and secure an insertion end of a conduit. An outer surface of the insertion end of the conduit may be smooth and free of grooves, flanges and beads. A first member of the coupling may define a first passageway. A second member of the coupling may define a second passageway. The first member may be in spin weld engagement with the second member. A gripping ring having an inner edge defining a series of teeth may be disposed within the second member. A support ring and O-ring may also be disposed within the second member.

Method of treating a fiber cushion body

A fiber cushion body, which is formed from cross-linked fiber material and which is resiliently deformable when load is applied along a main load direction, is treated using ultrasonic energy. A portion of the fiber cushion body is displaced, for example using a sonotrode, and ultrasonic vibrations are applied to the fiber cushion body to re-shape the fiber cushion body from a first shape to a second shape different from the first shape.

Methods of fabrication of composite repair parts and related kits

Composite laminates fabricated from one or more respective laminae of composite material (e.g., fiber-reinforced polymers) may be pre-formed and fully cured, yet configured to be selectively conformable to a desired radius of curvature. To repair a damaged composite structure, a plurality of such composite laminates may be bonded together to form a repair part that may be bolted to or otherwise secured to the damaged composite structure, thereby repairing the structure using repair parts that may match the parent material of the damaged composite structure. Methods of forming said repair parts from a plurality of such composite laminates may provide advantages in costs and lead time, over conventional techniques. Kits may include a plurality of such pre-formed and cured composite laminates that may be stacked and combined together in a plurality of different arrangements to create a customizable repair part for a given damaged composite structure.

Leak-proof fastening device

The present invention pertains to a washer (11) for a female fastener (12, 12A), particularly a nut or collar, said washer comprising an annular base (15) and a substantially cylindrical skirt (13) of an outer periphery of the annular base, said annular base comprising a central orifice (18) coaxial with the axis (14) of the skirt, characterized in that the annular base is at least partially covered with a layer (21) of a viscous composition capable of forming a liquid-tight coating through polymerization. When installing a nut having such a washer onto a male fastener such as a pin (33), the spreading of the viscous layer makes it possible to fill in the gaps (36) of the assembly, the polymerization of the composition ensuring its leak-tightness afterwards.

A fastening element for positive, materially integral and/or non-positive arrangement on or in a fiber composite component includes a sleeve-like portion, on the first end of which there is formed a tapering conical or cone-shaped portion in which a plurality of slots are made which are aligned in the direction of a longitudinal extent of the fastening element and in this way subdivide the conical or cone-shaped portion into individual segments. On the second end of the sleeve-like portion, there is arranged a holding portion which is angled at a right angle from the sleeve-like portion and in this way enlarges an outer diameter of the sleeve-like portion and forms planar bearing surfaces. A method is also described for mounting a fastening element.

Method of manufacturing implant structure including crown flowing in response to occlusal force and implant structure

The present invention relates to a dental implant structure and a method of manufacturing the same, and more particularly, to a method of manufacturing an implant structure including a crown flowing in response to occlusal force capable of preventing an implant structure such as a fixture or an abutment and/or an abutment screw, which is provided at a lower portion of a crown, from being fractured due to repetitive occlusal force by installing an elastomer absorbing the occlusal force between the crown and the abutment, and an implant structure.

Induction heat sealable closure liner configured for paper or plastic recycling stream, and induction heat seal application device
12454103 · 2025-10-28 · ·

A structure and method of forming a metal foil-less liner, such that the entire liner can be recycled in a respective paper or plastic recycling stream. A separate application device is provided, which includes a metal layer, that is used to induction heat seal the liner to the container rim. The application device is removable, allowing a plastic closure cap to be applied over the liner sealed container rim, to provide the final product for sale to the consumer, who then removes the cap and peels off or pierces through the liner to dispense the product through the open mouth of the container. The application device is also reusable, i.e., it can be used to attach a subsequent liner to another container rim. The result is a liner that is fully recyclable in a paper or plastic recycling stream. In one embodiment, the entire container package may be recyclable, namely the plastic container is recyclable in a plastic recycle stream, the plastic container cap is recyclable in a plastic recycle stream (same or different than the recycle stream for the container), and the entire liner is recyclable in a paper or plastic recycle stream (which may be the same as one or more of the recycle streams for the container and cap). The result is also a sustainable packaging solution where the application device that generates heat for induction heat sealing can also be re-used.
