FORCE-TRANSMITTING DEVICE AND METHOD
A method for forming a press connection between a first component and a second component such that force is transmissible between the first component and the second component. A portion of the first component is oversized relative to a portion of the second component, and the portion of second component is configured to receive the portion of the first component. The method includes applying an adhesive to the portion of the first component and/or to the portion of the second component, the adhesive in an uncured state being configured to reduce a coefficient of friction between the portion of the first component and/or the portion of the second component, pressing the portion of the first component into the portion of the second component to form a press connection, and curing the adhesive or allowing the adhesive to cure.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING METAL-RESIN COMPOSITE
An apparatus is configured to manufacture a metal-resin composite by press-molding a metal plate and a resin material. The apparatus includes an upper mold and a lower mold for sandwiching the metal plate and the resin material, and an elastic member attached to a molding surface of the lower mold. A cavity for disposing the resin material is provided by the upper mold and the lower mold. The elastic member is disposed to seal the resin material into the cavity by pressing the metal plate against the upper mold.
COMPOSITE/METAL JOINTS FOR COMPOSITE RODS
A method of forming a joint between a composite component and a metallic component is disclosed. The method includes forming a first groove in an outer surface of the metallic component on a first end of the metallic component. The first groove extends circumferentially on the outer surface relative to a center axis of the metallic component, and the first groove extends radially inward from the outer surface relative the center axis. The method further includes inserting the first end of the metallic component into a first end of the composite component. A second groove on the composite component over the first groove of the metallic component such that the composite component extends radially inward into the first groove of the metallic component. A composite hoop reinforcement is then applied in the second groove in a circumferential direction and the composite component, and the composite hoop reinforcement are solidified.
Ultrasonic weld interconnection coaxial connector and interconnection with coaxial cable
A coaxial connector for interconnection with a coaxial cable with a solid outer conductor by ultrasonic welding is provided with a monolithic connector body with a bore. An annular flare seat is angled radially outward from the bore toward a connector end of the connector, the annular flare seat open to the connector end of the connector. An inner conductor cap is provided for interconnection with an inner conductor of the coaxial cable by ultrasonic welding. The ultrasonic welding of each of the inner and outer conductor interconnections may be performed via inner conductor and outer conductor sonotrodes which are coaxial with one another, without requiring the cable and or connector to be removed from their fixture.
VACUUM INSULATION PANEL APPLICATION DEVICE AND METHOD
Disclosed are a vacuum insulation panel application device and method. The device comprises a conveying platform for conveying a refrigerator housing, a foaming material spray gun head, a vacuum insulation panel taking and placing mechanism and a press-fitting mechanism for pasting a vacuum insulation panel onto the refrigerator housing, wherein the foaming material spray gun head, the vacuum insulation panel taking and placing mechanism and the press-fitting mechanism are sequentially arranged in the moving direction of the conveying platform; the spray gun head is fixedly arranged beside the conveying platform; and the press-fitting mechanism is provided with rollers for rolling the vacuum insulation panel.
THERMOFORMABLE SHAPE-MEMORY DEVICE AND USES THEREOF
The invention relates to a device comprising: a first layer (11) of a thermoformable material that is inelastically deformable in a thermoforming temperature range, a second layer (1) of a viscoelastic material that is elastically deformable in a temperature range including a use temperature range of the device and the thermoforming temperature range, and wherein: the use temperature range is lower than the thermoforming temperature range, the first layer is bonded to the second layer, the thermoformable material is elastically deformable and more rigid than the viscoelastic material in the use temperature range, the thermoformable material is less rigid than the viscoelastic material in the thermoforming temperature range.
Technique for handling diced wafers of integrated circuits
A technique for handling an integrated circuit tape assembly having a plurality of integrated circuits supported by underlying dicing tape involves placing the integrated circuit tape assembly on a film frame carrier (FFC) frame, stretching the dicing tape while on the FFC frame, and securing the stretched dicing tape by engaging a spring ring with the dicing tape and FFC frame. Adjacent integrated circuits are thereby inhibited from colliding during shipment or storage for subsequent processing.
ULTRASONIC WELD INTERCONNECTION COAXIAL CONNECTOR AND INTERCONNECTION WITH COAXIAL CABLE
A coaxial connector for interconnection with a coaxial cable with a solid outer conductor by ultrasonic welding is provided with a monolithic connector body with a bore. METHOD AND APPARATUS TO ASSEMBLE A HIGH PURITY LIQUID DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
A method and apparatus for assembling a high purity liquid distribution system is described. A distal end portion of the tube is heated then pushed over a sleeve so that the distal end portion can have a shrink seal fit over the sleeve to mitigate accidental or inadvertent pull out of the tube from a fitting. Other benefits are also achieved such as minimal flow restriction of the liquid flowing through the joint and the tube.
Assembly and method of coupling pipes
A jig assembly and method of use are provided for positioning and re-rounding pipes for welding. The jig assembly comprises a first jaw assembly and a second jaw assembly which position and move a coupling onto one pipe then the second pipe for subsequent welding.
