The present invention is directed to a method forming a bottom-gusseted package, wherein each package includes an inwardly-extending, pleat-like gusset at the bottom of the package. To permit heat-sealing formation of each package, the sleeve from which each gusset is formed comprises a lamination of two differing polymeric materials, so that only an exterior surface of each sleeve exhibits the desired heat-sealing characteristics. To facilitate package formation, the sleeves from which the bottom gussets are formed are maintained in a temporarily closed or sealed configuration during package formation by providing a preferably frangible bond or seal at the edge of each sleeve. This result is preferably achieved by folding the laminate material, and temporarily sealing or joining an outer layer of the laminate material from which gusset is formed, while an inner layer is maintained in an unsealed condition.

System and method for spin welding fittings to maple sap lines

A maple sap line system and method for spin welding provides secure, unobstructed lines for collecting sap by creating a hermetically sealed connection between a lateral line and a mainline. A fitting connects the mainline to the lateral line. The fitting is spin welded to the mainline at a contact interface. The fitting comprises a protruding member that easily melts to create the frictional weld. The fitting has an elongated body comprising barbs that receive the lateral line. The fitting has a channel that enables fluid communication between the mainline and the lateral line. The flanges in the fitting register with a chuck to rotate the fitting against the main line at a high rpm. Molten debris formed in the channel is dislodged by drilling with a collared drill. The drilling provides fluid communication and creates a smooth inner surface in the mainline, and cuts off flanges from the fitting.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ENSURING CONSISTENT TENSIONING OF MEMBRANE IN FRAME

A tensioning apparatus for manufacturing a membrane assembly for a three-dimensional printer. The tensioning apparatus may include a base portion, an upper portion, and a jig configured to receive a lower frame piece of a membrane assembly. The jig is arranged on the base portion and shaped to receive a lower frame piece of the membrane assembly. The base portion has a number of holes through an upper plate thereof through which air can be evacuated from the tensioning apparatus when a flexible membrane material is being fitted to the lower frame piece of the membrane assembly.

Apparatus and method for producing a film-covered component

An apparatus and method for producing a film-covered component, having at least one assembly nest with at least one component section, on which a component to be covered can be arranged includes operating a film severing device. The film severing device is arranged on the assembly nest and has a severing element. The film severing device surrounds the component section at least partially laterally at a distance.

PVC DISPOSABLE GLOVE AND MANUFACTURING PROCESS THEREOF
20190357611 · 2019-11-28 ·

A type of PVC related disposable gloves and the manufacturing process thereof. The process includes: The PVC resin or its mixture is mixed with a plasticizer to form a glove formula mixture. The films of glove material mixture are formed with the said glove formula mixture. Two layers of the said films of glove material mixture are placed in parallel to form the glove material films. An insulation layer is placed on one side of the glove material films, and a beam of electromagnetic waves is applied and distributed along a path of preset contour onto the surface of the glove material films so that the electromagnetic beam penetrates the glove material films and, as a result, the two layers of the glove material films are effectively sealed and joined along the path of preset contour; or thermal heat is applied and distributed along a path of preset contour onto the surface of the glove material films so that the heating temperature is equal to or higher than the critical point of heat sealing temperature of the glove material films and, as a result, the two layers of the glove material films are effectively sealed and joined along the path of preset contour. Pressure is applied on the glove material films along the path of preset contour so that the two layers of the glove material films are fused integrally along the path of preset contour. A cutting edge is applied along the outer path of preset contour, and the inner part of the path of preset contour including the fused part is separated from the glove material films, while an opening at the wrist is cut, so that a piece of the PVC related disposable glove is formed. This manufacturing process of PVC related disposable gloves greatly reduces environmental pollution and has a very high value for protecting the environment.

Sealing ducts into a balloon
10472040 · 2019-11-12 · ·

Aspects of the disclosure relate to techniques for manufacturing a balloon envelope including a duct for high altitude balloons. In one example, a first sheet of material may be provided. A premade duct may be arranged at least partially on the first sheet of material. The duct may include a first substance on an internal surface. A second sheet of material may be arranged over at least a portion of the duct. A heat sealing device may be applied to the second sheet of material to heat seal the first sheet of material to the second sheet of material. The heat sealing device may be applied over at least a portion of the duct in order to seal external surfaces of the duct to each of the first and second sheets of material and form a balloon gore. The first substance may keep the duct from being sealed to itself.
