STOP SYSTEM FOR A TOOL FOR HEATING BY DIRECT CONTACT
A stop system intended to engage with a tool for heating by direct contact for a machine for plastic welding of a component over an opening in a wall of a motor vehicle tank. The system contains a cam mechanism which includes a straight cam with a longitudinal axis and a follower coupled to the straight cam for converting a translational movement along the longitudinal axis of the follower into a straight or quasi-straight movement of a point of the follower in a direction non-parallel to the longitudinal axis. The cam mechanism of the follower is capable of moving from a rest position, where the stop system is configured to pass freely through an opening in a wall of a motor vehicle tank, to a working position. The stop system is configured to bear against an inner surface of the wall of the tank through which the straight cam passes.
Device for setting a setting element in a component
The invention relates to a device for setting a setting element having a first plastic material in a component having a second plastic material, comprising a rotational advancing unit, by means of which the setting element can be rotated about an axis of rotation and simultaneously an axial force acting in the direction of the axis of rotation can be applied to the setting element in order to drive the setting element into the component, a friction welding joint thereby being produced between the setting element and the component, a differential-distance measuring apparatus for measuring the differential distance between a surface of the component and a surface of the driven setting element, and a control unit for controlling the rotational advancing unit in dependence on the measured differential distance.

Structural assembly having injection-bonded joint and method of forming
A method of forming an injection-bonded joint includes providing a first part and a second part having a second part upper edge and a second part lower edge, and forming a chamber wall within a bondline region between mating surfaces of the first part and the second part. The chamber wall divides a bondline length of the bondline region and defines at least one adhesive chamber. The method further includes forming a bondline dam along each of the second part upper edge and the second part lower edge in a manner such that the chamber wall, the bondline dams, and the mating surfaces collectively enclose the adhesive chamber having a chamber upper edge and a chamber lower edge. The method also includes injecting a structural adhesive into the adhesive chamber through an injection port and discharging excess adhesive from the adhesive chamber through a bleed hole.
Tube end detection
A method, and an apparatus associated therewith, for detecting plastic tube ends clamped in a butt welding machine, the plastic tube ends being planed by means of a plane, which can be introduced between the plastic tube ends, and subsequently being heated by means of a heating mirror, which can be introduced between the plastic tube ends, and the plastic tube ends are welded together after removal of the heating mirror, the plane and/or the heating mirror being tilted in between the plastic tube ends by means of a controlled movement, wherein detection or sensing of the plastic tube ends during the controlled movement of tilting in the plane and/or the heating mirror is carried out by means of at least one sensor arranged on the plane and/or on the heating mirror.
Method for Manufacturing a Head of a Golf Club
A method for manufacturing a head of a golf club includes providing a body of the head and a cover. The body has a top surface and an abutment portion. The abutment portion has an abutment face connected to the top surface via a first connection face. The cover has a first face, a second face and a second connection face. The method further includes disposing a first covering member on the top surface of the body, disposing a second covering member on the first face, and applying a pressure to the body and the cover to bond the cover to the abutment portion via an adhesive agent, obtaining a semi-finished product of the head of the golf club. The method further includes heating the semi-finished product to couple the cover with the abutment portion and removing the first and second covering members from the heated semi-finished product.
Hybrid structure and methods for forming the same
A method for forming a hybrid structure is provided. The method includes applying a sealant to a first component fabricated from a first material, coupling an isolation sheet to the sealant, and coupling a second component to the isolation sheet. The isolation sheet and the second component are fabricated from a second material that is different than the first material to facilitate preventing formation of a galvanic cell within the hybrid structure.
Methods for joining polymeric composites using a hybrid friction/ultrasound technique for achieving desired weld characteristics
A method for use in efficiently joining together multiple workpieces to inhibit establishment of weld material in unwanted areas. The method uses a hybrid shaping-and-energizing system having a shaping tool and an ultrasonic horn. The method positions the hybrid shaping-and-energizing system proximate a workpiece, uses the shaping tool to form at least one recess in the proximate workpiece, and applies weld energy to the proximate workpiece using the ultrasonic horn. The recess is formed and the weld energy applied such that molten workpiece material becomes disposed within the recess, thereby inhibiting formation of weld material in the unwanted areas.
