CATHETER ASSEMBLY
A multi lumen catheter assembly. The assembly provides an expandable, low profile, fixed length sheath and catheter, with fixed infusion ports. The assembly has an expandable outer sheath that expands upon pressure activation with a fluid and the sheath allows the fluid to exit from at least one predetermined fixed location from a distal end of the catheter assembly. The catheter assembly can be used in various medical device procedures, such as a TIPS (Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt) procedure, or anywhere a low profile, multi lumen, infusion catheter system is desired.
Method for calculating fractional flow reserve based on pressure sensor and angiographic image
Disclosed is a method for calculating fractional flow reserve, comprising: collecting a pressure at the coronary artery inlet of heart by a blood pressure sensor in real-time, and storing a pressure value in a data linked table; obtaining an angiographic time according to the angiographic image, finding out the corresponding data from data queues based on time index using the angiographic time as an index value, screening out stable pressure waveforms during multiple cycles, and obtaining an average pressure Pa; and obtaining a length of the segment of blood vessel from angiographic images of the two body positions, and obtaining a blood flow velocity V; calculating a pressure drop ΔP for the segment of the blood vessel using the blood flow velocity V at the coronary artery inlet, and calculating a pressure Pd at the distal end of the blood vessel, and further calculating the angiographic fractional flow reserve.
IMPLANTABLE NANOCHANNEL DELIVERY DEVICES
An implantable device comprising a nanochanneled membrane is described. The device uses nanofluidics to control the delivery of diagnostic and/or therapeutic agents intratumorally. The devices can be used for chemotherapy, radiosensitization, immunomodulation, and imaging contrast.
DEVICES FOR ASSISTING WITH ADVANCEMENT OF CATHETERS AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Disclosed herein is a catheter advancement device having an elongate shaft and a capsule attached to or integral with the shaft, and related methods for assisting with advancement of catheters such as cardiovascular guiding catheters while reducing damage to the inner wall of the blood vessel. Some capsules have a distal plug portion and a neck portion having a smaller diameter than the plug. Other capsules have a channel defined along the outer surface of the capsule. Some elongate shafts have an attachment tube disposed at or near the proximal end thereof.
MEDICAL DEVICE FOR FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND METHOD OF USE
A single, handheld medical device for performing an endometrial abrasion and/or HSG procedure is disclosed. The preferred embodiment comprises a body that includes a handle integrally connected to an arm with an articulating member at its distal end. The handle comprises a means for storing and pumping a fluid into the uterus so that ultrasound or x-ray can be used to determine the location of the articulating member within the uterus. The arm further comprises a shielding device that is operable to slidably engage the arm of the device and the shield and the arm are configured to cover and sealingly engage the external os of the cervix to prevent reflux during use. Optional viewing means are disclosed, including an imaging screen mountably attached to the device and in communication with a scope disposed within the arm.
DEPLOYABLE SLEEVES AND RELATED METHODS
A medical device may include a tubular sleeve configured for implantation in a body lumen, the sleeve having a first configuration with a first rigidity and a second configuration with a second rigidity greater than the first rigidity, the sleeve including: a flexible membrane defining an interior lumen; and a channel extending along the membrane.
ADAPTER, PROCESS AND USE FOR INSTILLATION OF AGENTS INTO THE BLADDER THROUGH THE URETHRA WITHOUT CATHETER
An adapter suitable for direct introduction of an active agent, or a contrast agent, into the bladder of a male or female patient without the use of a catheter has an elongated body that defines an internal through passageway and a toroidal sealing collar that surrounds the elongated body at a distal end portion of the elongated body. The distal end portion terminates in a rounded off tip-part sized for insertion into the urethra of the patient. The proximal end portion of the elongated body is adapted for connection to a dosing device.
UTERINE MANIPULATOR
A uterine manipulator device includes: an elongated cannulated tube having proximal and distal ends, a cervical cup positioned on the elongated cannulated tube with a top distal portion of a first diameter and a base proximal portion of a second smaller diameter, and an occluder assembly comprising an occluder positioned proximally from the cervical cup on the elongated cannulated tube, the occluder having a body with at least one primary rib and at least two secondary ribs, wherein a diameter of at least one secondary rib is smaller than the diameter of the primary rib.
Colposcopes, mammoscopes, and inserters having curved ends and associated methods
A colposcope includes an inserter including an elongated body defining an interior space and an image capture device configured to be selectively and slidably positioned within the interior space of the elongated body. The elongated body has a distal end portion and a proximal end portion. The distal end portion is substantially funnel shaped and has a distal end that includes first and second portions. The first portion includes a base at a first edge of the distal end, and the second portion includes a lip at a second edge of the distal end that is diametrically opposed from the first edge. The lip is positioned further from the proximal end portion than the base.
MULTI-LUMEN SHAFT USED WITH ENDOSCOPIC DEVICE
Briefly, in accordance with one embodiment, a multi-lumen shaft may be used to with an endoscopic instrument.
