CONNECTOR AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A connector is formed by fixing two or more connector parts each made from a resin to each other by press fitting or with an adhesive. At least one weld part regulating thermal deformation between the connector parts is formed in a boundary portion between the adjoining connector parts.
JOINT STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING JOINT STRUCTURE
A joint structure comprises a light-absorbable member having at least one opening portion and a light-permeable member superposed on the light-absorbable member so as to cover the opening portion, wherein an annular weld part is formed so as to enclose the opening portion and join the light-absorbable member and the light-permeable member, and the light-permeable member is formed into a thin sheet adhering to the light-absorbable member by deforming at a depressurized state of an interior of the opening portion before the formation of the annular weld part.
JOINT STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING JOINT STRUCTURE
A joint structure comprises a light-absorbable member having at least one opening portion and a light-permeable member superposed on the light-absorbable member so as to cover the opening portion, wherein a first annular weld part is formed so as to enclose the opening portion and join the light-absorbable member and the light-permeable member, and a second dot-like weld part(s) joining the light-absorbable member and the light-permeable member is/are formed in a position adjacent to the first weld part.
Method of producing a laminate comprising a cured adhesive sheet
Problem: To provide a method for producing a laminate comprising a thick, highly transparent cured adhesive sheet exhibiting flow characteristics accompanied by satisfactory fluidity and satisfactory initial adhesion to an adherend before irradiation, and satisfactory hardness (in particular, a high storage modulus) after irradiation. Solution: A method for producing a laminate comprising a first substrate, a second substrate, and a cured adhesive sheet disposed therebetween, the method comprising steps of: forming into a sheet a radiation-curable adhesive sheet precursor comprising a polymer/monomer mixture comprising a partially polymerized (meth) acrylic monomer, a monomer having radiation reactive sites activated by short-wavelength radiation of a first wavelength or less, and a photoinitiator for initiating polymerization of the polymer/monomer mixture and the radiation reactive site-possessing monomer via radiation of a wavelength greater than the first wavelength; irradiating the precursor with radiation of a wavelength greater than the specific wavelength to polymerize the radiation-curable adhesive sheet precursor, forming a radiation-curable adhesive sheet; disposing the radiation-curable adhesive sheet adjacent to at least one surface of the first substrate; disposing the second substrate adjacent to a radiation-curable adhesive sheet; applying heat and/or pressure to the radiation-curable adhesive sheet; and irradiating the radiation-curable adhesive sheet with radiation comprising short-wavelength radiation of a first wavelength or less to obtain a cured adhesive sheet.
BONDING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PLATE-SHAPED BONDED ASSEMBLY
A method for producing a bonded plate-shaped assembly includes retaining a pair of plate-shaped members facing each other by a pair of retaining base members; charging a photo-curable liquid material between the pair of plate-shaped members facing each other; causing movement of the pair of retaining base members by a retaining base member movement unit to cause the pair of plate-shaped members to draw close to each other to cause wetting spreading of the liquid material between the pair of plate-shaped members; detecting a wetting spreading state of the liquid material by a sensor; and illuminating curing light, in response to the result of detection, to the liquid material wettingly spread to the entire surfaces of the pair of plate-shaped members, to form the bonded plate-shaped assembly made up of the pair of plate-shaped members bonded together.
Method to reduce residual stress in an integrally-stiffened co-bonded structure
A method of reducing residual stress in a composite assembly may include assembling a first composite part to a second composite part to form a detail assembly. The first and second composite part may each have a flange and a web connected by a bend radius. The webs may be arranged back-to-back. The detail assembly may be cured on a compensated cure tool compensated for cure shrinkage spring-in predicted to occur in the first and second composite part. The method may include allowing the first and second composite part to spring in from cure shrinkage, and assembling the detail assembly to an uncured third composite. The method may also include co-bonding the detail assembly to the third composite part on an assembly cure tool to form a composite assembly having reduced cure shrinkage residual stress in the bend radii of the first and second composite part.
Apparatus and method for stiffeners
An isolation layer is arranged between two adjacent upright portions of a T-section stiffener, which is arranged on and bonded to a surface.
IMGL OF INSTRUMENT PANELS WITH PSIR CHUTES USING PRESSURE BONDING
A method for manufacturing an automotive interior component may include providing a cover, a substrate, a chute connected to the substrate, heating the cover, forming the cover via a negative vacuum forming tool, and supporting the substrate and chute via a buck. The method may include moving at least of the negative vacuum forming tool and the buck toward the other of the negative vacuum forming tool and the buck such that the cover and the substrate may be in contact with each other. The method may include bonding the substrate with the cover via providing pressurized fluid to a chamber of the buck to force the substrate toward the cover. The chamber may be defined by the buck and the substrate.
Process for welding profiles to a belt
A process for welding profiles (1) of a thermoplastic or thermoplastic elastomer to a top layer (3) of a belt (2), such as a conveyor belt, also being made of a thermoplastic or thermoplastic elastomer. The process uses thermal impulse welding and applies the welding heat onto the surface (21) of the belt (2) which is opposite to the top layer (3). The process is in particular suited for welding TPO profiles to TPO top layers.
Frictional weld joint for an article comprising a thermoplastic material
A frictional weld joint couples first and second body portions of an article together. The frictional weld joint comprises a first bead extending from the first body portion of the article and a second bead extending from the second body portion of the article. The second bead has an interior stem and an exterior stem space from the interior stem defining a cavity therebetween. The first and second beads are placed in contact with each other with the centerline of the second bead offset from the centerline of the first bead. A force is applied to either the first or second body portions to generate friction between the first and second beads to plastically displace the first and second beads. The force is removed for fusing the first and second beads together to couple together the first and the second body portions of the article.
