A thermoplastic composite welding microwire temperature measurement system broadly comprises a plurality of moveable antennae configured to transmit interrogation signals, a rail system including a motorized linear stage configured to move the antennae along a weld line, and a reader or processor configured to determine a position of the microwire temperature sensor and determine a welding temperature based on response signals of the sensor. The interrogation signal corresponds to two different maximum ramp current amplitudes to create two re-magnetization pulses non-overlapping in the time domain.

A high-frequency dielectric heating adhesive contains a thermoplastic resin, in which the thermoplastic resin contains a styrene copolymer resin, an amount of the styrene copolymer resin contained in the thermoplastic resin is 40% or more by volume and 100% or less by volume, the styrene copolymer resin has a styrene monomer unit content of 10% or more by mass and 90% or less by mass, the high-frequency dielectric heating adhesive has a tensile modulus of 20 MPa or more, and the high-frequency dielectric heating adhesive has a dielectric property (tan δ/ε'r) of 0.005 or more, where tan δ is a dielectric loss tangent at 23° C. and a frequency of 40.68 MHz, and ε'r is a relative dielectric constant at 23° C. and a frequency of 40.68 MHz.
Closed loop heat staking device and method
A novel spring-loaded device utilizes a linear or rotary measuring sensor to measure distance and control heat using a PID loop or other type of control loop feedback program. The power of the heating element is controlled by a program, which takes distance from the target into consideration when determining output power. For example, if the target distance is 10 mm away the algorithm will apply 100% power until reaching 9 mm, at which point it will lower power to 90%. When the distance is 5 mm from the target, the power level will be 50%, and so on and so forth. The closed loop nature of the system will reduce power automatically using pulse width modulation (PWM) of the input power. This will allow modulation of the power to the heating element on the fly.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING HEADERLESS PRODUCE BAGS WITH INCREASED ADHESION
During the manufacturing process the exterior surface of one or both of the sheets of plastic film which form the bags is treated with low temperature corona discharge plasma to raise the level of surface charge magnitude to at least 43 Dyne to increase the adhesion force between the bags. A recess is formed in each of the bags to further increase the adhesion. The increased adhesion causes the mouth of one bag to automatically open as the adjacent bag is removed from the rack. The recess is formed at the same time openings are created in the bags to accept the support rods of a dispensing rack. The bags can have simple edge sides or side gussets and may be provided in a package including a pouch which receives and supports the lower portions of the bags.

Method of joining two objects
A method for joining two objects by anchoring an insert portion provided on one of the objects in an opening provided on the other one of the objects. The anchorage is achieved by liquefaction of a thermoplastic material and interpenetration of the liquefied material and a penetrable material, the two materials being arranged on opposite surfaces of the insert portion and the wall of the opening. Before such liquefaction and interpenetration, an interference fit is established in which such opposite surfaces are pressed against each other, and, for the anchoring, mechanical vibration energy and possibly a shearing force are applied, wherein the shearing force puts a shear stress on the interference fit.

The present invention concerns an apparatus for ultrasonic processing of a material web having an ultrasonic vibration unit which has a sonotrode and a converter connected thereto optionally by way of an amplitude transformer, and a counterpart tool, wherein for processing of the material web the web is moved through a gap between the sonotrode and the counterpart tool, wherein the ultrasonic vibration unit is fixed to a carriage moveable relative to the counterpart tool so that the ultrasonic vibration unit can be moved together with the carriage in the force direction, that is to say in the direction of or away from the counterpart tool, wherein there is provided a force sensor for measuring the force applied to the sonotrode by the material web. To provide a corresponding apparatus of the kind set forth in the opening part of this specification, which permits more accurate measurement of the welding force, in order to be able to continuously process by means of ultrasound even situations of use with an extremely small process bandwidth, it is proposed according to the invention that the sonotrode and the carriage are connected together by way of a sensor component which has the force sensor.
