Medicant Applicator
A medicant dispenser enabling the effective administration of tableted pharmaceutical products within a body cavity has a plunger, a barrel, and a deformable tip. The deformable tip provides a suitable leading element to allow the barrel to enter a body cavity, wherein the plunger may be pushed to eject said tableted pharmaceutical products into said body cavity through the deformable tip. More specifically, the deformable tip will comprise a plurality of cuspids fixed to a support ring, wherein the support ring is fitted to a terminal end of the barrel. The plurality of cuspids will collapse concentrically to form a tapered leading element of the medicant applicator while retaining the capacity to separate to allow passage of said tableted pharmaceutical products and the head of the plunger therethrough.
Apparatus for administering small volume oral transmucosal dosage forms
Systems and methods for administration of small volume sufentanil drug dosage forms to the sublingual mucosa of a subject using a device are disclosed. The dispensing device includes a lock-out feature and a means to retard or prevent saliva and/or moisture ingress such that the drug dosage forms in the device remain dry prior to administration.
DEVICE, METHOD, AND SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATED DISPENSING OF PERIODONTAL MEDICATION
A device for the treatment of periodontal disease includes a handle that has a configuration familiar to dental professionals, and a detachable tip or cartridge, that is locked into the handle when use. The device provides for automatically delivering a single dose of medicament, such as a powdered preparation of antibiotic, to a periodontal pocket for treatment of infection or disease.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR INSERTING A DEVICE OR PHARMACEUTICAL INTO A UTERUS
A delivery device includes a housing, an insertion member, a transfer member, and an actuator. The insertion member includes a distal end portion configured to be removably coupled to an implant. At least a portion of the insertion member is movably disposed within a passageway defined by the housing. The transfer member includes a coupling portion configured to be coupled to the insertion member to transfer a force from the actuator to the insertion member such that the insertion member is moved relative to the housing. The coupling portion of the transfer member is configured to move relative to the insertion member when the force exerted by the actuator exceeds a threshold value.
INTRAVESICAL DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE WITH RETENTION FRAME AND DRUG TABLETS
Intravesical drug delivery devices that include a device body, a number of solid drug tablets, and a retention frame. The device body includes a drug reservoir lumen and a retention frame lumen. The drug tablets is positioned in the drug reservoir lumen, and the retention frame is positioned in the retention frame lumen.
Composition for the treatment of fistula
A composition for use in the treatment of fistula, the composition comprising activated carbon.
IMPLANT DELIVERY DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
Described here are systems, devices, and methods for delivering an implant to the orbit. In some instances, the systems may comprise a delivery device having a tongue member and a handle. The delivery device may further include an ejector configured to deliver an implant from the tongue member. The delivery device may also include a piercing member configured to create an opening in tissue. The systems may further comprise a piercing member for creating an opening in tissue. In some instances, the piercing member may have a first blade member rotatably connected to a second blade member.
Implantable drug delivery devices and methods of making the same
A drug delivery device is provided that includes a device body, a number of solid, compressed drug tablets, and a retention frame. The device body includes a drug reservoir lumen and a retention frame lumen. The number of solid, compressed drug tablets are positioned in the drug reservoir lumen, and the retention frame is positioned in the retention frame lumen. The drug tablets may be mini-tablets aligned in the drug reservoir lumen, with an interstice formed between any two adjacent drug tablets facilitating deformation of the device body. Systems and method are also provided for loading a drug delivery device. In one embodiment, the method includes positioning one or more solid drug units upstream of the drug delivery device; and driving the drug units into the drug delivery device with a flow of pressurized gas.
Implant delivery devices, systems, and methods
Systems, devices, and methods for delivering an implant to the orbit. In some instances, the systems may include a delivery device having a tongue member and a handle. The delivery device may further include an ejector configured to deliver an implant from the tongue member. The delivery device may also include a piercing member configured to create an opening in tissue. The systems may further include a piercing member for creating an opening in tissue. In some instances, the piercing member may have a first blade member rotatably connected to a second blade member.
Method and apparatus for inserting a rectal suppository
Rectal suppositories are used to administer a predetermined drug dosage to treat a variety of diseases and symptoms in a variety of patient populations. Certain medical conditions, such as digestive disorders, may be more effectively treated when the suppository is placed in a particular location of the patient's anal canal or rectum. An apparatus for inserting a suppository can include an applicator having a barrel, such as a hollow cylindrical body, and a plunger, such as a substantially cylindrical elongated body. The apparatus can include features to ensure that beneficial gas flow paths associated with the plunger or the barrel are maintained or that the apparatus can accommodate suppositories of different sizes. Embodiments may include features to facilitate gripping and manipulation of the apparatus for use by patients with limited dexterity. These benefits may encourage patients to maintain a course of treatment, thereby potentially avoiding additional complications, hospitalization, and costs.
