Spacer for use in precision bonding applications that provides enhanced shear strength
A spacer-locator with integrated locator pins and spacer tabs for use in joining applications. The spacer-locator provides consistent and accurate spacing between mating surfaces and the locator pins provide enhanced location control of the joining components while providing a mechanical advantage to the shear strength at the joint. Also, a spacer-locator for joining at least two objects along mating surfaces, the spacer-locator constraining at least two degrees of freedom for the objects to be joined.
Tool for optimal part consolidation selection for additive manufacturing
A method, medium, and system to receive an indication of an assembly including a plurality of different components to produce by additive manufacturing (AM), determine based on a forward search process that starts with individual components of the plurality of components and iteratively adds other components of the plurality of components thereto in combinations until an entirety of the assembly is accounted for, determine based on a reverse search process that starts with the entirety of the assembly and iteratively removes components of the plurality of components therefrom in combinations until a two-component set is reached, automatically select an optimal combination of the plurality of components from the combinations determined by the forward search and reverse search processes; and transmit the selection of the optimal combination of the plurality of components to an AM controller.
CONTAINER FOR HEATING PLATES FOR BUTT WELDING PIPES
A container for heating plates for butt welding pipes has one or more walls forming at least one receptacle for containing a heating plate; an insulation means surrounds the receptacle and is adapted to thermally insulate the receptacle from the surrounding environment.
Bag making apparatus and method for making plastic bag
A first sheet panel is folded along a first fold line, and thereby a first folded part is formed in the first sheet panel. Subsequently, the first folded part is folded back along a second fold line, and thereby a folded-back part is formed in the first sheet panel. A corner cut device cuts a second sheet panel and the folded-back part to form corner cut parts. At this time, the corner cut device prevents the first folded part and a base part of the first sheet panel from being cut.
Pipe fusing indicator assembly
A pipe fusing indicator assembly includes a clamp that is releasably attachable to a cylinder of a pipe fusing machine. An arm is coupled to and extends away from the clamp. The arm is positionable in a first position having the arm resting against a section of pipe positioned in the pipe fusing machine such that the arm is visible to a user. The arm falls off of the section of pipe into a second position when the section of pipe is pulled through the fusing machine. In this way the arm indicate to the user that the section of pipe has been fully pulled through the pipe fusing machine. A ball is coupled to the arm such that the ball is visible to the user to facilitate the user to identify if the arm is in the first position or the second position.
Device for accommodating an adhesive application unit and method
The present invention relates to a device and a method for storing adhesive application units, with the device comprising a vacuum container (10) for hermetically accommodating at least one adhesive application unit (2), with the vacuum container (10) having: a passage (22) for evacuating the vacuum container (10), a container housing section (11) having a loading/unloading opening (12) and a closing device (13) for hermetically closing the loading/unloading opening (12).
System and method for alignment of optical beams
Systems and methods can align of one or more optical beams with respect to one another, an optical axis, a far-field location, and/or a near-field location. An example method includes coupling, with an index-matched epoxy, a plurality of adjustable optical surfaces and an optical element. Each adjustable optical surface of the plurality of adjustable optical surfaces is associated with a respective light-emitter device of a plurality of light-emitter devices. Additionally, the method includes causing at least one light-emitter device to emit light that interacts with at least one adjustable optical surface and an optical element to provide a transmitted light beam. The method also includes receiving information about a beam profile of the transmitted light beam, comparing the beam profile to a desired beam profile, and adjusting a position of the at least one adjustable optical surface with respect to the optical element based on the comparison.
HIGH SPEED VINYL WELDING AND CLEANING LINE OPERATION
A manufacturing system for manufacturing rectangular frames of plastic material includes a horizontal frame welder configured to weld lengths of a plastic material together to form a rectangular frame. A corner cleaning station is configured to remove excess flash created in the welding process at the horizontal frame welder. A gantry is configured to automatically remove the rectangular frame from the horizontal frame welder after it is welded, move the rectangular frame to the corner cleaning station, and automatically place the rectangular frame in the corner cleaning station.
Process for producing a surface covering with an embossed printed surface
A process for producing a surface covering with an embossed printed surface is described. A substrate (16) is continuously moved through a production line, and this substrate (16) is first provided, in a printing equipment (12), with a printed pattern and thereafter, in an embossing equipment (14), with an embossed pattern, which is registered with the printed pattern. The printing equipment (12) produces the printed pattern in-line with the production of the embossed pattern. During printing in the printing equipment (12), the printed pattern is stretched or compressed, dynamically responsive to indicators of misalignments between the printed pattern and the embossed pattern, so as to correct or prevent the misalignments. A production line for carrying out this process is also proposed.
METHOD FOR TESTING THE FUNCTION OF A TUBULAR BAG MACHINE
The invention relates to a method for testing the function of a tubular bag machine, the tubular bag machine comprising a drive control system and multiple electronic drive units which are controlled independently of each other by the drive control system and which drive different functional elements of the packing machine in a cycle time-synchronous manner as they are going through predefined motion sequences, and one drive unit being realized in the manner of a transverse sealing unit, and the transverse sealing unit comprising at least one drive motor (02) and two transverse sealing jaws (13a, 13b) which are driven relative to each other by the drive motor (02) and by means of which a film tube (09) is sealed transversely to the conveying direction (21), and the drive torque (M) of the drive motor (02) being measured directly or indirectly using a drive controller, and the position () of the drive motor (02) being measured directly or indirectly using a position sensor, the method comprising the following steps: a) removing the film tube (09) from the sealing zone between the transverse sealing jaws (13a, 13b); b) closing the transverse sealing jaws (13a, 13b) according to a predefined target torque stored in the drive control system; c) measuring the actual position of the drive motor (02) once the target torque has been reached; d) comparing the measured actual position to a target position stored in the drive control system and associated with the predefined target torque.
