The invention relates to a method for producing decorative parts with a rear plastic carrier element, which is poured over with plastic under process pressure in a casting tool for producing an upper layer on a front visible side, characterized in that the carrier element is fixed in the casting tool and is impinged upon with pressure at least during the production of the upper layer at the rear and in the direction of the upper layer that is to be produced on the front visible side, said pressure counteracting the process pressure during the overmolding with plastic.

Vat Photopolymerization Additive Manufacturing of Multi-Material Parts

The present disclosure provides a method of making an article, including: providing a composition comprising two or more types of polymerizable monomers and two or more types of polymerization initiators; exposing the build region to one or more polymerization stimuli; polymerizing the two or more polymerizable monomers at the build region to provide a polymer layer; and advancing the polymer layer away from the build region to provide a three-dimensional article containing two or more integrally mixed polymers.

ISOCYANATE-FUNCTIONAL POLYMER COMPONENTS AND POLYURETHANE ARTICLES FORMED FROM RECYCLED POLYURETHANE ARTICLES AND ASSOCIATED METHODS FOR FORMING SAME

A method of forming an isocyanate-functional polymer component includes forming a first mixture by mixing a recycled polyurethane article and a first isocyanate component having isocyanate-functional groups. The first mixture is heated to a temperature sufficient to transform the recycled polyurethane article from a solid form to a liquid form and react the liquid recycled polyurethane component with the first isocyanate component to form an isocyanate-functional polymer component having an isocyanate-functional group content greater than zero and less than isocyanate-functional group content of the first isocyanate component. The formed isocyanate-functional polymer component may then be used for forming a polyurethane article or polyurethane foam article that is the reaction product of the formed isocyanate-functional polymer component, a second isocyanate component and an isocyanate-reactive component having hydroxyl-functional groups.

Composite-material molding method and molding device
10647068 · 2020-05-12 · ·

A composite material molding method is provided for forming a composite material. The molding includes disposing a reinforcing base material in a cavity inside an openable and closable mold, injecting resin into the cavity in a state in which a clamping pressure is exerted on the mold and curing the resin. When injecting the resin into the cavity, the injection pressure of the resin is adjusted between a first pressure that is higher than the clamping pressure and a second pressure that is lower than the clamping pressure, and the injection pressure of the resin is lowered from the pressure that is higher than the clamping pressure to the pressure that is lower than the clamping pressure at least once. The resin is thereby injected such that the pressure inside the cavity does not exceed the clamping pressure from the start of injection to the end of injection of the resin.

TUNABLE, CONTROLLED-RELEASE, URETHANE-CONTAINING ELASTOMERS AND PROCESSES OF FORMING THE SAME

A process forms an implantable product including poly(glycerol sebacate) urethane (PGSU) loaded with an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). The process includes homogeneously mixing a flowable poly(glycerol sebacate) (PGS) resin with the API and a catalyst to form a resin blend. The process also includes homogeneously combining the resin blend with an isocyanate to form a reaction mixture and injecting the reaction mixture to form the PGSU loaded with the API. An implantable product includes a PGSU loaded with an API. In some embodiments, the implantable product includes at least 40% w/w of the API, and the implantable product releases the API by surface degradation of the PGSU at a predetermined release rate for at least three months under physiological conditions. In some embodiments, the PGSU is formed from a PGS reacted with an isocyanate at an isocyanate-to-hydroxyl stoichiometric (crosslinking) ratio in the range of 1:0.25 to 1:1.25.
