The device comprises a housing, a plurality of electrode arrays projecting from the housing, each electrode array including at least one electrode, a pulse generator electrically coupled to the electrodes, a programmable microcontroller electrically coupled to the pulse generator, and an electrical power source coupled to the pulse generator and the microcontroller. The electrode arrays define spatially separate sites.

LASER-ASSISTED TRANSDERMAL DELIVERY OF NANOPARTICULATES AND HYDROGELS

A method for laser assisted delivery of therapeutic agents includes selectively controlling a valve connected to a first channel disposed within a first sidewall of a nozzle, applying, through the first channel, a first substance to penetrate dermis to a predetermined depth, and administering, through a second channel unconnected with the valve and disposed within a second sidewall of the nozzle, a second substance to remove debris.

MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE

A medicament delivery device comprises a delivery assembly for transdermally delivering medicament to a patient and a system for providing information on the volume of medicament in the device. The system comprises a sensing unit configured to measure at least one physical parameter dependent on the volume of medicament in the device.

Physiological monitoring apparatus and networks

Wearable apparatus for monitoring various physiological and environmental factors are provided. Real-time, noninvasive health and environmental monitors include a plurality of compact sensors integrated within small, low-profile devices, such as earpiece modules. Physiological and environmental data is collected and wirelessly transmitted into a wireless network, where the data is stored and/or processed.

Earpiece monitor

An earpiece monitor configured to be worn by a subject includes a battery, an earpiece fitting configured to be inserted within an ear canal of an ear of the subject, a reflective pulse oximeter configured to measure pulse rate and pulse intensity of the subject, a motion sensor configured to monitor footsteps and head motion of the subject, a digital memory for storing at least one algorithm, and a processor configured to process signals from the reflective pulse oximeter and the motion sensor using the at least one algorithm to generate as assessment of a health state of the subject. The earpiece fitting is configured to transmit sound to the inner ear or eardrum of the subject. The assessment of the health state of the subject may include an assessment of subject physiological stress and/or an assessment of overall subject health.

Light emitting hands free device

A light emitting device for a human having a scalp with hair, the device includes a flexible arcuate base configured to contour a portion of the scalp. The base has a width between 20 mm and 120 mm and includes an interior and an interior surface. At least one array of teeth is coupled to the interior surface, each tooth in the at least one array of teeth being pressed against the scalp when the base is contoured about the scalp. Each tooth is configured to part the hair when the at least one array of teeth is pressed against the scalp. An array of at least one of light emitting diodes and laser diodes coupled to the base proximate the at least one array of teeth.

Systems and methods for cross-linking treatments of an eye

Example eye treatments determine an area at a surface of a cornea for delivery of a cross-linking agent. The example treatments disrupt tissue at the area at the surface of the cornea up to a depth corresponding to apical layers of superficial squamous cells of the cornea, e.g., no greater than approximately 10 μm to approximately 15 μm. The example treatments apply a cross-linking agent to the area at the surface of the cornea. The cross-linking agent is transmitted through the disrupted area at a greater rate relative to non disrupted areas of the cornea. The example treatments deliver photoactivating light to the cornea. The photoactivating light activates the cross-linking agent to generate cross-linking activity in the cornea.

IMPLANTABLE RESERVOIR FOR USE WITH A MEDICAL DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR INTERVENTIONAL DRUG DELIVERY
20220218978 · 2022-07-14 ·

A surgically implantable reservoir is provided for implantation into a patient for use in an iontophoresis system for local drug delivery through a target site of internal body tissue. The reservoir comprises a housing having an inner surface defining an enclosed chamber and an inlet opening and an outlet opening for flow of fluid including the drug through the chamber. The housing is capable of interacting with a localized electric field to release the drug. A platform holding an electrode extends inwardly into the chamber from the inner surface of the housing such that the platform and an adjacent portion of the inner surface of the housing define a trough surrounding the platform. Fluid flow through the reservoir from the inlet opening to the outlet opening moves gas bubbles formed by electrolysis from the surface of the electrode and carries the bubbles through the outlet opening.
