Topical Therapeutics
The present invention classifies disorders, including Local Anesthetic Responsive Headaches as a general class. The present invention also uses exclusion and inclusion criteria in order to better determine the proper treatment of disorders including dorsonasal targeted therapies.
HOLLOW MICRONEEDLE FOR TRANSDERMAL DELIVERY OF ACTIVE MOLECULES AND/OR FOR THE SAMPLING OF BIOLOGICAL FLUIDS AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF SUCH HOLLOW MICRONEEDLE
The present invention relates to a micro-needle (7; 8; 9) for the transdermal administration of active molecules and/or for the sampling of biological fluids. The micro-needle (7; 8; 9) is made of polymeric material through photolithography. A cavity is defined in the micro-needle (7; 8; 9).
The present invention further relates to a method for obtaining through photolithography at least one micro-needle (7; 8; 9) for the transdermal administration of active molecules and/or for the sampling of biological fluids. A photo-cross linking polymer is exposed in liquid phase to an energy radiation causing the hardening thereof. A photolithographic mask (1; 2) is interposed between the source of the energy radiation and the photo-cross linking polymer. The photolithographic mask (1; 2) is configured in a manner such to generate in the photo-cross linking polymer a peripheral shadow area, a central shadow area and a lighting area confined between the peripheral shadow area and the central shadow area.
The method according to this invention is aimed at obtaining a micro-needle (7; 8; 9) for the transdermal administration of active molecules and/or for the sampling of biological fluids which shows the peculiar characteristic of being hollow and which is manufactured by means of a single photolithography operation, thus avoiding the use of additional processing.
MEANS AND METHODS FOR TARGETED X-RAY THERAPY
The present invention provides a method for activating a pro-drug in vivo comprising the steps of: (a) administering a pro-drag to a subject; (b) locating a target site which has been at least partially dosed with the pro-drug at a predetermined concentration; and (d) exposing the target site to X-ray radiation. The step of exposing the target site to X-ray radiation is characterized by providing a converging X-ray of a controllable waist, substantially uniform at the target site, sufficient to convert the pro-drug to an active drug, whilst the X-ray photon dosage at the target site is higher than the X-ray photon dosage at an adjacent non target site.
Mono or multivalent botulinum neurotoxin based vaccine using the heavy chain from serotypes of Clostridium botulinum
Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for treating Clostridium botulinum neurotoxin intoxication and in particular, vaccines against the neurotoxin that provide protection again lethal challenge with neurotoxin from one or more serotypes of Clostridium botulinum.
Cosmetology device
A device for applying electrical stimulation to a surface of the human body utilizes a calibrated, pre-arranged pattern of conducting, current emitting elements to distribute current throughout an entire surface at once, such as human face, without needing to alter the device to accommodate various are sizes, including varying face sizes.
MICRONEEDLE ELECTROPORATION DEVICE
A microneedle electroporation device is provided, including a housing, a positioning member, an intermediate plate, a first microneedle assembly, a second microneedle assembly, a socket, a first wire, and a second wire. The positioning member is connected to the housing and the intermediate plate. The intermediate plate includes a plurality of first holes and a plurality of second holes. The first microneedle assembly includes a plurality of first microneedles and a first metal connecting portion connected to the first microneedles. The first microneedles pass through the first holes. The second microneedle assembly includes a plurality of second microneedles and a second metal connecting portion connected to the second microneedles. The second microneedles pass through the second holes. The first microneedle assembly and the second microneedle assembly are electrically independent of each other. The first wire connects the socket to the first metal connecting portion. The second wire connects the socket to the second metal connecting portion.

ATTACHABLE TIP FOR ELECTROMAGNETIC HAND PIECE
A system for the surface and subsurface delivery of therapeutic and cosmetic agents. The system includes a disposable attachable tip that can be pre-filled with medications or cosmetics and attached to hand pieces including electromagnetic and mechanical energy hand piece devices.
On-demand drug release using magneto-electric nanoparticles
Disclosed herein are methods of delivering drugs to a subject in a controlled release fashion by administering a magneto-electric nanoparticle having ionic bonds to a drug then applying a magnetic field to weaken the ionic bonds and release the drug.
Nanoelectroablation control and vaccination
Techniques for treating a tumor and vaccinating against cancer are described. The techniques include treating the tumor by positioning electrodes over an interface between the tumor and non-tumor tissue and applying sub-microsecond pulsed electric fields. The positioning is facilitated by an imaginary contour line of a threshold value of the electric field. In an example, the imaginary contour line is overlaid over images that include the tumor such that the electrodes are properly positioned over the tumor. The techniques also include vaccinating against cancer by passing sub-microsecond pulsed electric fields through tumor cells of a subject sufficient to cause the tumor cells to express calreticulin on surface membranes. The tumor cells are extracted and introduced with the expressed calreticulin into the subject or another subject, thereby providing a vaccination.
